Chapter 17 Shameless
Chapter 17 Shameless
Sadie spent a day in the hospital. It was noticed that the surgical operation of Dean Esme getting on
well and she was sent to the intensive care unit.
In the afternoon, Talia Burns called again to inform her that the work for the wedding had been
confirmed on Sunday morning at 9 o’clock.
Upon hearing this, Sadie was not happy at all as she had no clue on what to do. She was so tired that
she laid down on her bed after having her dinner.
Libby didn’t care about her mother when she came back late. Her face was inflamed with anger when
she started criticizing Sadie who was not capable of making money.
With anger, Sadie then sneered, “Bullshit! Unlike you whom you will spend five days getting a room
with others!”
“What do you mean!” replied angrily by Libby while throwing those new bought novels towards Sadie’s
bed.
“If you don’t want people to know, don’t pay for the room yourself next time!” Finishing her words, Sadie
took up those novels and threw them outside. Subsequently, she turned over her body and slept with
her eyes closed.
This made Libby angry and speechless and she was scolding her till the midnight.
Lazy to bother Libby, Sadie herself also forgot to remind Libby to set a slower speed for the ceiling fan
before sleeping.
The next day at 8 o’clock, Sadie woke up and prepared herself before going out.
Just stepping outside, she saw a black Rolls-Royce parked by the roadside which made her familiar.
She patted on her chest when her heartbeat accelerated, slowly, she went around to the front of the car
to check the license plate. When she was sure that the car was not belong to Julian Mccarthy, she
relieved.
She would always have a belly full of anger when she thought of that pervert.
Walking near to the car, the passenger seat door opened where a man with a calm and cold face got
out of the car. NôvelDrama.Org owns all content.
Although Sadie was very sure that the license plate of the car was not belong to Julian, yet, she still felt
that the driver seemed to have same character as Julian who had cold face and made others hard to
communicate with him.
The guy who wore a formal well-looking black suit with a pair of white gloves, respectfully opened the
rear seat door for Sadie.
“Miss Sadie, please get in the car.” He politely invited Sadie.
“Thank you…” replied by Sadie with startle. She looked around and was wondering there could be a
camera around somewhere, this guy was really good at acting.
Pretended to be calm, she then got into the car, and the rear seat door closed. The housekeeper
instructed the driver to depart after he got into the car too.
“May I ask…” asked hesitantly by Sadie about what she would need to do but was stopped by the latter
with a cold sound, “Today’s ceremony is very simple, what you need to do all the way is only keep
smiling.”
Nodding her head, she relieved.
It was good since she didn’t have to speak anything. It was just a guest role, and she knew that she
only needed to do her parts well to prevent things going wrong. Calming down her mood, Sadie
suddenly felt unwell. She felt dizzy of her head, and her body became soft and weak, feeling like she
had no energy at all.
Out of sudden, she began sneezing and her eyes became itchy and painful after she rubbed her nose.
Hmm…probably she had a flu. She sat up straight, taking out the cold medicine from her bag, throwing
into her mouth and swallowing it.
Sadie knew well that this job offered high remuneration and so, she shouldn’t cause any trouble to Talia
Burns.
The car drove out of the city and towards the outskirts. Sadie who had taken the medicine, leaned back
in the chair when she started sweating and feeling more unwell.
Every catwalk show, she would be together with her colleague, but this time, she had to be solo.
To her most surprise, the authority requested her not to wear the mask.
The housekeeper was very serious, his outstanding and strong aura made Sadie dare not to utter a
word when she wanted to make some requests.
In silence, the car stopped slowly. Sadie who saw a beautifully designed and decorated courtyard
through the car window suddenly felt nervous and stressful.
The cast and crew were so rich that they not only rented luxury cars, in addition with a big courtyard.
The ZSB Garden, a place in City B where everyone knew billionaires used to live here.
“Miss Sadie, please come with me.” The housekeeper got of the car and respectfully opened the rear
seat door for her.
Sadie nodded her head, doubtfully followed him.
Once entered the villa, Sadie was brought to the dressing room immediately. The housekeeper simple
described some requests while passing a piece of contract. He then instructed, “Please sign your name
on it.”
Hesitantly picking up from him, Sadie asked the housekeeper where she should sign it as she didn’t
understand English.
She was curious and hesitating inside her heart as the contract signed was in English written form. She
hoped Talia wouldn’t cheat her.
After signing up, the housekeeper left and Sadie was brought away by the stylist to prepare herself with
makeup and the change of wedding dress.
Since Sadie was not clear with the situation, Sadie kept calm and silent while waiting for the event to
start.
Thinking of the job she received, she praised Talia inside her heart as she offered her the work which
was paid with sixty thousand for a wedding cameo performance. Even the double of the actor might not
be able to get such a big amount of money.
Moreover, the wedding dress was branded and the jewelry seemed as real.
The cast and crew sure had paid a lot of effort in the preparation, Sadie thought in this way.
After a well preparation, Sadie’s face was covered in a veil and was led in her way by a woman in her
twenties.
To her surprise, Sadie still able to recognize at a glance that the man who wore the groom’s dress,
standing at the center of the living room was Julian Mccarthy even though the white veil had blurred her
vision.
She kept thinking about ways to pay back the ten million when she was tossing and turning on her bed
yesterday night but she didn’t even think that Julian was the guy who would pay her with great
remuneration just for her to take part in this wedding cameo performance.
“Yeah, let’s go!” Julian stepped forward and reached out to her. “Don’t talk. If something goes wrong,
you will lose your remuneration and the welfare house will be removed too.”
“Shameless!” Sadie really got mad and she went speechless. “Is this in your plan too?”
Julian pursed his lips to show his acquiescence.
Exactly, this was all in his planning and it spent about one week for the preparation of the wedding
since he knew Sadie still alive.
Initially he thought of continuing playing with her but her terrible medical test result forced him to end
the game between them early.
Julian just wanted to make Sadie staying by his side regardless of playing what kind of trick.
“Are you crazy!” Sadie was stimulated by his frank look, immediately slapping his hand away with big
strength, taking her steps to run away from the scene.
Julian was totally not surprised of her reaction. Instead, he squinted his eyes and said, “If you leave
here, I can assure you that the welfare house will be razed in three hours. Don’t try to challenge my
patience. You know I will do it.”
His tone was not that furious but it definitely scared Sadie.
Sadie stopped her steps, took a deep breath, turning around and walking towards him step by step.
She believed his words and she was sure that he would make it real.
Standing opposite him, Sadie raised her head, staring at him expressionlessly. “Why do you choose
me?”
