Chapter 8 You Don’t Have To Follow Me Everywhere
Chapter 8 You Don’t Have To Follow Me Everywhere
“I’m not done yet.” Julian grabbed her hand, pressed her back onto the seat, and crouched over to kiss
the corner of her lips. “All right, now you can continue.”
Sadie stunned. When she came back to her senses, she kicked and roared, “Julian you asshole!”
“I’ll take that as a compliment.” Julian licked the corner of his lips and smiled devilishly. “If you still can’t
pay the money by next Monday, I might bring down the orphanage.”
He then let go of Sadie, sat back, and lifted the divider. “Khalid, drop her off.”
Sadie had never been humiliated like this. She flung an open palm at Julian. “You scoundrel!”
Julian caught her arm and unhurriedly bowed to kiss the back of her hand. “This pair of hands shouldn’t
be used to hit people, especially not me.”
Sadie cowered a little, angrily pulled back her hand, turned around and got off the car.
“Bump!” She flung the door close and stormed towards the school without looking back. She wasn’t
paying attention while she was in the car just now, thus she didn’t notice the driver had drove the car
back to the same spot.
The black Rolls-Royce started its engine and went off to the street.
Julian opened his tablet and said indifferently, “Send two men to protect her, and arrange to get her a
full body check-up.”
“Understood.” Khalid sighed silently. He felt he didn’t know what was in Julian’s mind anymore all of a
sudden.
Julian could actually force Lady Sadie to stay by threatening her with the orphanage, but he didn’t.
Instead, he agreed to let her go if she paid the money by Monday.
What was wrong with him? But it was indeed rare to see him smiled today. Ever since the cruise
accident, he had always been expressionless for the past six years.
He got Sadie out of the Chambers family and doted on her for seven years, planning to marry her
abroad as soon as she got older. Who would’ve expected the Chambers family to suddenly snatch her
back and the accident happened soon after.
“Look into the guy from the Newman family. I want to know the reason he picked Sadie,” Julian said
with a cold tone.
Khalid nodded. He was about to ask Julian if he wanted him to look into the cruise accident too when
he saw the smiley expression on Julian’s face through the mirror. He immediately swallowed his words.
He would avoid ruining Julian’s mood since he seemed to be quite happy today.
That accident had been a thorn is his side. No one should bring that up before they got Lady Sadie
back.
Sadie rushed back to the school just in time for the second class of the day. There wasn’t much
attendance since there weren’t many prerequisite classes in junior year.
Sitting in the class, she couldn’t pay attention to the class at all. Her mind was loaded with thoughts
about why Julian gave her 500 million, and what was noted on the check.
She was too agitated back then to take the time to notice. She licked the corner of her lips
subconsciously, her brows furrowed deeply.
She didn’t seem to appall much when Julian kissed her. At least not as much as when she appalled
Otto. This was ridiculous.
Julian was basically a stranger to her since they had only met three times.
Finished her classes half-heartedly, Sadie went back to the dorm. When she got back, Daisy dragged
her to the corridor and complained, “Why didn’t you tell me Julian was sitting behind us? It was
embarrassing.”
“I didn’t know it was him,” Sadie said innocently.
Daisy rambled on. She laughed heartily when she talked about how Julian trolled with the students who
asked him for his signature earlier that day.
Sadie forced a smile and dragged Daisy back to take their afternoon nap.
She didn’t have time to visit Dean Esme at the hospital in the afternoon, so she asked Raya to go on
her behalf.
Raya knew about the operation and told Sadie there was a businessman who paid for the bills, his only
term is for Sadie to work in his firm after she graduated. Sadie didn’t suspect anything upon hearing
this.
For the next two days, she didn’t meet Julian in class or when she went for her morning jog. It was as if
he had never existed.
But she did see DHG Group appeared in the news from time to time.
This company which emerged out of nowhere now seemed to be all over the finance sector in the
newspaper, sometimes even the entertainment sector.
While reading the newspaper, she prayed he would be so busy to never appear in the school again.
Why did he become a teacher when he was already the president of a company anyways?
But she felt headachy when she thought about the debt next Monday which she still wasn’t able to pay
yet. She couldn’t use the 500 million. And even if she asked Otto for help, he would probably refuse.
It would be okay if it was just a small amount. She would feel fidgety having a large sum of money in
hand. She couldn’t sleep well at all and woke up at 5 o’clock in the morning.
After preparing herself, she got into sports attire, grabbed her phone, and went downstairs for her
morning jog. The weather was chill since it was already in the spring. She couldn’t help but shiver in
cold when she left the building. Content protected by Nôv/el(D)rama.Org.
After jogging for a lap, her body got warmer. Then she got a sudden phone call from Otto.
He had just finished his work and thought of her habit of having a morning jog. He couldn’t help but
give her a call.
“Go back and have a good rest. Don’t stay up too late.” Sadie curled her lips with smiley eyes.
“I miss you,” Otto said smilingly.
He had a raspy and laid-back voice, which was soft and tender. Sadie blushed upon the thought of the
look on his face when he gave her the call.
She missed him a lot too. They couldn’t meet often even if he was staying in City B.
“I miss you too…” Sadie replied softly, couldn’t hide the happiness in her tone.
Then, she heard someone calling for him on his side of the phone. Didn’t want to bother him with his
work, she immediately bid him goodbye.
Otto hung up the phone after bidding her goodbye with a smiling tone. Sadie came to a stop and
wanted to continue playing her music. She saw a figure in front of her from the corner of her eyes when
she looked at her phone.
She was agape when she raised her head and saw it was Julian. It took her a while until she could
finally utter, “Mr. Mccarthy?”
This guy’s appearance was always unpredictable. It was allegedly he would only return on Monday or
Wednesday. She even avoided taking her jog to the football field yesterday so she wouldn’t bump into
him.
She thought she would be safe today. But apparently, she was wrong.
Julian stared at the phone in her hand and a hint of jealousy flashed across his eyes. “Let’s jog
together?”
Sadie wanted to reject him but swallowed her words when she recalled Julian was now her creditor.
Plus, there were already onlookers gathering around, so she had n choice but to nod silently.
Julian’s gaze swept down from her forehead onto the scar on her left cheek. He tried to act
nonchalantly. “What happened to your face?”
He had inquired Doctor Smith two days ago and confirmed that it wasn’t a burnt scar, which meant the
scar was not from the cruise accident. Back then, the fire started from her room, logically, it wouldn’t be
just her face that got burnt, if she was burnt at all. She had no scar on any other part of her body. The
only thing was that her birthmark disappeared after the accident.
He recalled both her arms were scar-free the night in the hospital when she was wearing a gown.
“No idea.” Sadie took off her earphone and started jogging.
Julian tailed after her silently. With complicated thoughts in mind, his gaze darkened. Perhaps both the
cruise accident and Sadie’s missing were not accident at all.
After jogging for half a lap, Sadie couldn’t take the way the onlookers were gazing at her anymore and
slowed down to a halt. “Mr. Mccarthy, I’ll definitely pay you the money, you don’t have to follow me
everywhere.”
So, she thought he was here to collect the debt? Julian narrowed his gaze and curled his lips
mischievously. “Are you sure?”
Well, he was indeed here to collect his debt, but it was a love debt!
