Chapter 21
Gina.
With a lot of visitors coming in and out of the pack house, the workload becomes a little overbearing. Having to constantly clean the floor and ensure that the sitting room is spotless after each visitor leaves gives me no time to breathe.
It was already evening, but I was still cleaning the living room. there have been lots of visitors coming to see and pay tribute to the soon-to-be Luna.
The day after tomorrow is Gwen’s birthday, but the party would start tomorrow evening and last all through the night until the next day.
I have carefully planned my escape plan. As soon as it strikes twelve, I will go into the woods to have my first transformation, and then I will come back to the pack house to get my bag and also to see if anyone has checked up on me.
After which I will hang around the pack house until Gwen identifies the triplets as her mates. While everyone is congratulating them, I will take that time to run as fast as my new sets of paws will carry me.
though I plan on seeing my parents before I leave, I will be far gone before anyone notices.
Since I heard the triplets talking about how they were going to enslave me, I have been avoiding them. I can’t believe they would be that selfish to think of such atrocities against someone they claim to love.
they too have been very busy ensuring that the borders of our pack are safe from rogues and rival parks who would want to invade us because of the ceremony.
“Gina, the Luna in waiting demands your presence this instant,” Tina, who happens to be Gwen’s favorite maid at the moment, said to me while maliciously sizing me up and down.
Not to draw unnecessary attention to myself, I took the broom I was using to sweep to the store room and followed her upstairs to Gwen’s room.
On getting to Gwen’s room, I saw her talking on the phone with someone I assumed to be her father. When the conversation ended, she turned to me.
“I want you to take these items to my father, and please be back in time,” she said, pointing to a basket of not-so-fresh fruits that was placed at one side of her room.
Wait, did Gwen just say please, or did I hear wrongly? Also, I notice she didn’t cuss me out or say anything degrading to me. Wow, that would be a first.
Maybe she is trying to be a better person so she can effectively execute her soon-to-be new position.
I walked over to where the basket was, and from the look of it, it seems the basket has been there for some days. What I didn’t understand was why she was sending fruit to her father.
Her father’s fruit farm is known to be the second biggest, right after our alpha’s farm. He has tons of workers that could get him any type of fresh fruit he needed straight from the trees.
So it didn’t make sense to me that she would send these bad-looking fruits to him. Another thing that beats me is why she sent me when she should have sent her current or should I say her favorite maid.
Nevertheless, I must do as I am told to avoid getting into the unnecessary drama that would halt my escape plan tomorrow.
I carried the basket and was about to walk out of her room, but she stopped me and instructed Tina, who had been standing there the entire time, to give me a white napkin to cover the fruits in the basket.
Something didn’t feel right as I made my way to Gwen’s father’s house; my entire body was against going on this particular errand.
But I just assume that it was because of the stories I have heard people say about him. Lucas Amerie is believed to be a very wicked and conniving man who would do whatever it takes to get what he wants.
He is only nice when you are an Alpha like him or have money to throw around. But the case is different when you happen to be an omega, which he despises so much.
It was rumored that he rejected his true mate just because she was an omega, so he could marry his alpha girlfriend.Content held by NôvelDrama.Org.
Many people believe that he is instigating our alpha to bring out more of these rules that work against the omega.
Many believe that Gwen got her wickedness from him. While most of the pack leaders live very close to the pack,
Lucas lives quite a distance from the pack house; his house is designed similarly to that of our alpha pack house. Many believe he decided to give that distance because he wants to feel like a king.
He is known to be the person who passes the most death sentences on his slaves and servants. His house is strictly out of bounds for omegas except for his servants.
I had just taken a sharp turn leading to a small, bushy path that leads to his house when I felt I was being followed.
I turned around and saw no one, making me believe that I had only imagined what I was feeling.
Halfway through the bush, I saw several large pairs of eyes emerge strangely from the bush. At first, I thought that they were pack members who were probably going to run into the woods.
But as they got closer, I got to know that they were all rogues, and fear gripped my heart as they bore out their canines.
From the marks on their faces, I could tell that they were the same reason we have been told never to go into the dark forest.
It is believed that there is a whole pack of big, bad wolves lurking behind the dark forest at night. But they have never been seen around our pack; what could have brought them here?
By this time I had tried hastening my steps out of the bush, but I noticed that the moment I tried getting away from them, the more they closed in on me.
No longer sure of their intentions, I started running, but my human legs were no match for their super fast paws as they caught up with me in no time.
“What’s the rush, sugar?” One of them said that almost at the same time, he transformed into his human form, followed by the two men with him. They were all heavily built, with various tattoo decorations on their bodies.
“Please don’t hurt me,” I said as he moved closer to me.
“No, darling, we don’t only hurt people; we kill people.” But for you, we are going to make an exception. We. We can’t let these go to waste. “We are going to have a little fun first before we kill you,” he said as his eyes roamed my body.
“Please, how will I do anything but please just don’t hurt me?” I pleaded with them.
But all my pleas fell on deaf ears, and as soon as he made a move to pull me to himself, three roars were heard from all around us.
The rogues seemed to be frightened by the roars, as they all quickly transformed back into their wolf forms. They positioned themselves in a defensive mood as they frantically looked around to see where the sound was coming from.
Then, one after the other, three wolves emerged from the bushes to surround us. These new sets of wolves were bigger and more vicious than the rogues.
There was something particularly intriguing about these wolves; they looked just like the ones I had previously seen in my dreams.
One could already see the fear in the rogues’ eyes as they kept barking. A roar from all three alpha wolves sent the rogues scampering away in different directions.
Thank you, I said to the wolves, who were looking very familiar. They didn’t answer, but soon they faded into the dark woods.
I picked up all the fruits that were scattered on the floor and placed them back into the basket after ensuring that they were all clean from dirt.
Even though I was still startled by what had just happened, I tried my best to put myself together and not let him know what had happened.
I soon got to Gwen’s father’s house, and I couldn’t help but notice how surprised he was to see me.
His eyes were like daggers on my skin as I greeted him and stated the reason I was there. Not uttering a word, he gestures for one of his servants to take the basket from me.
After handing the basket of fruits to one of his servants, I greeted him and left. A deep sigh escaping my lips as soon as I got outside his house reminded me of the fact that I had held my breath all along.
I hastened my steps as I walked back to the pack house, and though I couldn’t see anyone around me, I could feel some presence around me, and honestly, I felt safe.
