"Get in here," Drake called out.

Debra stepped inside calmly. Since she dared eavesdrop, she wasn't afraid of Drake finding out.

Even if Harland hadn't shown up, she would've walked in herself and confronted Drake.

Drake's eyes narrowed. "It's you."

She didn't blink. "Mr. Lowe, you're playing a clever game, aren't you? I came to you with good intentions, hoping to cooperate. But it seems you've been less than forthcoming."

His voice dropped another degree. "What are you getting at?"

Debra took a step forward. "For years, you have systematically bled Ralph dry and ruined my family. Now your attention is on me. Every time I pressed you for answers, you dodged. Now I understand why. You're after the treasure in Seamar City."

Though Ralph had confessed to hiring someone to kill her parents, Debra and Marion had uncovered another layer of the truth. The car her parents were in had been tampered with. Someone else had played a hand in their deaths. She had probed around without getting a definite answer. Drake and Kale's conversation just confirmed her suspicion.

Seeing that his deception was exposed, Drake didn't bother to hide it anymore. "You should be thankful you still have some value. Marion has abandoned you, and I suppose you know what happens to those who are discarded." Debra didn't need clarification. In her previous life, she had been discarded again and again.

This time, she wouldn't let herself lose any value.

She calmly seated herself across from Drake. Kale, sensing the shift, took a step forward, but Debra's next words stopped him cold.

"Let's stop the charade, Mr. Lowe. You could've told me earlier, and we could've avoided this drama."

Drake raised an eyebrow, intrigued. "What do you suggest?"

Debra didn't hesitate. "Ralph racked

up massive gambling debts and tried to kill my father when he refused to help him. I already know this. It's just that our family business crumbling saddens me. As for the treasure, I know a little about it. I propose that we cooperate. Mr. Lowe, are you interested?"

"Oh? How do you propose we cooperate?"

"I'll help

prom: get the treasure and

take down Marion. But you have to promise me you'll help me rebuild the Frazier family. Help me reclaim my position."

"That simple?"

"Yes," Debra paused. "Ralph is already in prison. I have no other family. Manon abandoned me, and Juan has long moved on. I can't live off a meager salary for the rest of my life. If you help me you help me rebuild the

Frazier family, we will could for

cooperate with you. Our fates will be tied together."

Debra's words left no room for doubt, and even Kale appeared convinced.
