He used to hate her

Chapter 34

Chapter 34

" Something bad? Like what?"

" Like anything. I'm not ready to answer. What's keeping you from opening the door?" She shouted from the other side again.

" I'm coming. Give me ten minutes, please,"

" What's going on," Xander woke up, looking at the closed door.

" Sofia's here. Get dressed now." I urged him. We nearly took ten minutes and Sofia was muttering something outside the door.

" Now, how should I escape? the windows again?" He asked grinning.

" Yeah, that's what you can do. Once you are out, I will explain to her about your wedding," I whispered and he went to my room.

I unlocked the front door to see Sofia's mad face.

" Hi, how was your day?"

" Bad. My feet hurt. Because of you. Why didn't you open the door? I never let you stand outside," She told walking inside. I tried to come up with an exception for now.

" I...I was sleeping..."

" And...you were talking with me but didn't open the door. What explanation do you have for that? I would like to hear it," She said, looking at me keenly. I can't even lie to my best friend for two minutes. Urgh...

" I was sleeping and I was..."Copyright Nôv/el/Dra/ma.Org.

" Why are you wearing your top wrongly?" She interrupted me. I looked down at my top where the price tag is in the front.

" that...that's weird. I usually wear it properly. I will just go and change it," I rushed into my room and I collided with someone. Not someone. Xander.

" Hey, I forgot my phone. I can't go without it. Maybe, you should tell Sofia now," He spoiled everything by not leaving the house.

" I told you to leave," I hissed.

" What the hell is happening? Xander's been here all this time. Is that why you didn't open the door? I get it now. Are you sleeping with a married man now? how could you, Madison?" Sofia spoke in a shocking state.

" No. I would never sleep with a married man. Xander's not married. He ran away from the wedding," I explained to her while Xander went to take his phone as nothing happened.

" A runaway groom? oh my god, I can't believe this,"

" Stop calling me a runaway groom. I wasn't interesting in the wedding for a long time,"

" Is it hard to believe that Xander came for me instead of marrying Veronica?" I asked her as she gave a surprised look at me.

" No. That's not it. After the accident, Xander changed a lot. What seems unbelievable is that there's a runaway groom in this world. I have only encountered a runaway bride," She said, getting off the track.

" Is that what surprises you? I was thinking of something big. Anyways, I got something to ask you. I don't know if you are okay with it but..."

she looks at me waiting for me to finish the line. " I want to move into Xander's house. He wants it too. But leaving you here alone worries me. If you are okay with it, I will understand,"

" Say okay, Sofia," Xander muttered, sliding his arm to my waist.

" You both are worried that I will say 'no'. I want you to get whatever you want, Madison. You don't even need to ask me. My answer is always 'yes. When I'm on my way to our home, I was worried about you. You aren't yourself after losing Xander. I'm glad you are happy now."

" Thank you, Sofia. You have been a true friend to me for years," I felt grateful for having her and after some chattings, I decided to leave tomorrow.

" So, I will help you pack the bags. But what about our job?" Sofia asked, looking at me as I shifted my gaze to Xander. He already told me not to work. I don't know what he's planning now.

" I already planned something for your jobs,"

" Both of us? Even me?" Sofia asked in surprise.

" Yeah, I don't want you both to be separated and I don't want to be separated from Madison. So, I want you both to take a job in a company which I own in this town. If you are comfortable with it, we can go with this plan?" Xander said, waiting for our approval. This is the best thing Xander ever decided. I don't want to be jobless even if I have money. Now, I get to work with Sofia every day and Xander will be there too. What more do I want?

" I'm in. And will you be there too, Xander? I mean...I know you won't be an employee in the company. You still don't remember your position in the company, right?"

" It seems funny that I don't remember who I have been. But I'm the CEO. Henry filled me with all the information. I was afraid that I might be replaced due to my memory loss. After I got discharged, Henry

helped me to cope up with all the works. Now, everything feels weird. Like I don't fit for the job, the old Xander was the one who has been capable of all these things. But I got a lot of support coming from many people. So, I hope I can get through this."

" I support you too, Xander. You are still the same person. You only lost your memory, not yourself."

" Okay. Let's talk about that later. When am I getting the job? If you say it, I will resign from the small dinner." Sofia asked. All her mind will be thinking about the company. It's a good opportunity for both of us.

" Maybe two or three days. I can't rush it,"

" Okay, take your time. I will quit working in the dinner from today," She said excitedly.

" What's the rush, Sofia? We still have three days. Be patient."

" After hearing what Xander planned for us, I don't think my mind will be ready to act as a waitress,"

I smiled at her. Seeing Sofia excitedly like this won't happen a lot of times.

" I'm not done speaking. I got two things to inform you. One good news and one bad one. What do you like to hear first?" Xander asked us, with his hands on either side of his pocket.

" Good," I said as Sofia asked for 'Bad'.

" I will go with the good ones. Since Henry's here. He joined the same company."

That's definitely a good one. Henry and I can catch up after many years.

" The bad ones?"

" Veronica's been working there for some months. I guess it will be hard to deal with her after I refused to marry her,"
