After saying that, Giselle chose to stay away. Letting Charlotte stare at her sharply and her breath roar in annoyance. didn’t care if during the quarantine and running activities here, she suddenly made new enemies. Instead of making friends, she was stirring up hostility. Her own fault made her upset and could not hold back the flow of words that had already been spoken.
Ah, but Giselle was quite calm because Justin didn’t set any targets for her here. She was only asked to follow the steps well and not to disappoint the SEO. That’s all.
“Looks like someone made a new friend,” someone said with a chuckle.
That obviously made Giselle turn around and when she found out who was laughing, Giselle chuckled. Her steps didn’t slow down at all, choosing to head towards a place that served drinks and some sweet treats. She didn’t care if the laughing girl followed her.
After Giselle downed the refreshing mineral water that cooled her heart and mind, her eyes immediately wandered around. Still the same as before, there was a large crowd of contestants around her. But she was in no mood to join in. There was a sense of reluctance and at the same time, it seemed that almost all pairs of eyes were directed at him. Staring and laughing, who knows what they were talking about, Giselle didn’t care.
Even the figure who was laughing at him earlier.
“Looks like you were right.” Don’t ask Giselle why her feet led her to step closer to the girl she didn’t really like. Apart from the fact that her gaze was always cynical, it also seemed that the girl’s words provoked Giselle’s emotions.
“What’s right?” asked Harvey without bothering to look at the other person.
“Boring.”
Harvey laughed. “You just talked to that girl, right? How can you say boring? You guys should be getting along like the rest of the group over there.”
Giselle scowled. “I don’t need a lecture from you.”
“When did I act like a religious leader?” Harvey wasn’t about to let go of his laughter. He finished off the can of soda he had been enjoying, which made Giselle frown in surprise.
“You… didn’t get scolded by your agency for drinking soda?”
“What’s wrong with that?” Harvey placed the can on the edge of the table. so that it could later be seen as trash that he had collected in the same spot. there was no trash can nearby but he hoped that the staff on duty could see it. “Soda is fine if you don’t consume it too often. Rather than me getting drunk tonight from alcohol? I don’t want anyone to take advantage of my drunkenness for their own personal gain.”
Giselle’s brow furrowed but when she looked in the direction Harvey was pointing, she understood what he meant. Some of Ford’s top brass were there, joking around and spending time with some of the contestants. As Giselle can guess, apart from chatting about the activities that will take place in the next two weeks, there must be a hidden purpose that is mutually beneficial.
“Guess… among them, who will be the champion?”
Giselle grinned. “You’re really asking too many questions.”
But for what Giselle just said, Harvey wasn’t angry. Instead, he joined in the laughter that Giselle created.
“We bet?”
Their eyes finally met, staring at each other and considering what was about to happen. Harvey’s hand stretched out first, which was immediately warmly welcomed by Giselle. Perhaps others who saw it, thought they were just shaking hands to get acquainted as usual. Little did anyone know… they were making a gamble in this night of banquet and intimacy.
“I don’t know her name but I bet on the girl in the red dress.”
Harvey nodded with a faint grin. “Always remember his name; Kristen John. That’s the name you’re betting on to win this event. You’ve got a pretty good eye for it, too. Not just any model, but Kristen has worked with foreign boutiques several times and has made quite a name for herself here.”
“Are you alone?”
The girl looked back at the crowd in the center of this large space. “The girl in the blue dress.”
“There are two, you can’t see clearly, can you?”
“Why does talking to you feel so annoying?”
Giselle folded her arms across her chest. “Isn’t that you? Or are you judging yourself?”
Harvey chuckled in annoyance. “Light blue, blonde, the one to Kristen’s right. Are you satisfied?”
Giselle burst into laughter. “It feels like a familiar face.”
“Holder of a jewelry brand; Jems Jewerly. You know, right?”
“Ah!” Giselle snapped her fingers. “I remember now. His face was featured in several articles discussing the quality of the diamonds there.” She looked at Harvey who was still staring at the person they were talking about. “Are you sure?”
“Why am I not sure?” Harvey giggled. “What’s the betting material if I win?”This content is © NôvelDrama.Org.
Giselle gaped. “You’re taking this gamble seriously?” asked Giselle with a look of disbelief. Fortunately, the shocked expression on her face was quickly dispelled. Otherwise, Giselle’s face would have looked strange and attention-grabbing.
“Why aren’t you serious?” Harvey waved his hand lightly. “Are you afraid to make a bet with me?”
“Afraid? Of you?” Giselle snapped in disapproval. “I just find it ridiculous that this gamble could be turned into a gambling-like event.”
“Since when is a gamble free? Nothing in this world is free. Even if air could be traded by humans, it would have been done a long time ago.”
Giselle still wore an unaccepting face but since she was being mocked in such a way by Harvey, she couldn’t stand it either. “What are you risking?”
Harvey grinned slightly. “Um… what, huh?”
“I just got the latest bag collection from Horn Design. It’s semi-classic but I assure you, you’ll love it. I’m making that bag a gamble.”
“That’s good,” Harvey quickly retorted. “I know the price, dummy. What we have at stake is the title. And the prize those crowned will get is three times the price of the bag. I don’t want it.”
“Hey!” Giselle squealed in disbelief. “What exactly are we talking about, anyway?”
“Well, are you deaf or what? We’re talking about stakes, right? You’ve aimed at the target, I have too. So that leaves us with what to bet on. I don’t approve of that bag you proposed. I have the same thing at home. I’m not willing to accept the same thing.”
“What’s in it for us?” asked Giselle, her arms crossed over her chest.
“Nothing. just witnessing the excitement of our thoughts just now. that they… chose to sell her body instead of striving to advance with her skills as a model.”
Giselle could only shake her head in wonder.
“You’re backing out?” asked Harvey immediately. “That sucks,” she said with a teasing smirk. “I just found out that Giselle is afraid to make a bet.”
“Okay, let’s continue.” Giselle leaned in slightly. “You’re so confident in winning that I’m willing.”
“Oh my, besides being a coward, Giselle is quite arrogant.”
“Shut up,” Giselle snapped unhappily. “If I lose, I’m willing to be your assistant for two weeks. I asked my agency for special permission to take two weeks off after finals night. I’m sure that permission will be granted.”
“Wow!” Harvey looked surprised but then laughed happily. “Are you sure?”
Giselle unhesitatingly nodded. “But if I win, you must obey me to meet someone.”
Harvey’s brow furrowed deeply. “You… set me up, huh?”
“Where did it come from?” Giselle grinned mysteriously. “Are you afraid now, Harvey?”
“It’s good.” Harvey was not to be outdone. “Who’s afraid of this gamble.”
“Not just meeting, but switching agencies. How’s that?”
