“How long are you going to snuggle under the covers, Giselle?” Brina was already ruffling her loins in the doorway of Giselle’s room. This was already the third time she had disturbed the girl who had come home late last night, making it impossible for her to sleep peacefully and enjoy the night without thinking; Giselle was in danger.
But no. The girl went home with lots of smiles and joy. Chatting here and there about the activities they would be doing while in Great Asia. Including the banquet where Giselle was asked to meet the Prime Minister of a neighboring country who would be attending the banquet. Although it was a bit surprising, but seeing Giselle seem to have found a new spirit, Brina did not harbor any suspicions.
Unfortunately, Brina was wrong. The joy disappeared along with Giselle’s body, which was getting deeper into the blanket.
“We have a photo shoot at one in the afternoon. The trip to the location will take a while, Giselle.” Brina sighed worriedly. She went over and sat on the edge of the bed. “Your monthly guest is coming?”
“I see,” Giselle said quietly. “It’s not usually this painful, is it?” she gently lifted the blanket. Her eyes looked up at Brina with a pain-filled look. Her cry also came out unbidden. “I tried to act normal today but I think I need time.”
Brina looked concernedly at Giselle. It was rare for the girl to complain about her monthly sickness. But there had been a time when Giselle had struggled to deal with the visitor, and perhaps this was it. Not quite right, is it?
“You didn’t bring any pain relievers?”
Giselle shook her head weakly. “I also didn’t expect this guest to advance quite so far ahead of time.”
“I’ll get the medicine first. You prepare as much as you can. I’ll help you later.” Brina smiled faintly. “I’ve prepared breakfast. Or is there anything you want to eat?”
“I don’t know.” Giselle lay back down. “I just want to sleep.”
It seemed like Giselle was really exhausted today. Should Brina tell Justin about Giselle’s situation? She couldn’t stay silent because it involved the work and professionalism of Giselle Namiozuka. Don’t let the client think that she’s stalling for time in this place. The contract may be short, but what Giselle has to do is quite a lot and demanding. Brina thought, if it wasn’t the amount stated in the contract, Giselle would have refused.
Also… the Chinese Prime Minister that Justin is targeting.
But seeing how Giselle was in pain, made Brina heartless. In the end, she decided to call Justin and tell him how Giselle was doing. Justin was clearly a bit panicked and asked Brina to go to the hospital. but there was another voice that Brina thought, his advice was much more reasonable.
“Let Giselle rest. Prepare some hot tea with a slice of lemon I think it will make her feel better. Painkillers only work for a short while but what she needs is rest and don’t overload her with work she should be doing.”
It was Ruby’s voice and Brina agreed to it, so what she did was to do Ruby’s suggestion as best she could including talking directly to the clients they were working with at Great Asia.
“Oh, I hope Giselle is okay. I don’t really understand the pain of monthly guests but it seems like it’s excruciating.”
“That’s why I’m asking for a little leeway because Giselle can’t be active today. Please forgive us, Mr. Sergio.”
“Oh my, Brina!” On the other end, the man who was SEO’s client this time chuckled. “I’m very grateful to be able to get Giselle’s schedule and work with her. I wouldn’t mind if there were delays rather than us forcing it to be fatal? Aside from Giselle’s health too, I’m sure it could affect the girl’s mood. I don’t want to take any big risks regarding the outcome of the shoot.”
Brina laughed softly. “Thank you for your understanding.”
“I’ll have someone send Giselle a snack. We hope you accept this sincerity.”
Brina could not say much more. there were still some other chats that were made between them but occasionally Brina glanced at Giselle’s room. It was still the same as before she left, slightly open where the lights were still dim. It didn’t matter if the sun was getting hot and quite annoying actually.
“Giselle,” Brina called softly as she opened the door. Her business done, she also had some painkillers in her hand in case Giselle wanted to take them. Also the warm tea with lemon that Ruby suggested.
“I don’t think I can come to the photo shoot this time.” Giselle had a haggard look on her face. Her face was slightly pale. “I have to talk to Mr. Sergio.”
“I’ve already done it for you.”
“Really?”
Brina smiled faintly. “Who knows if it’s better if you enjoy this warm tea.”
“Thank you,” Giselle smiled slightly and felt lucky that Brina was accompanying her. But they were interrupted by the bell ringing, taking Brina by surprise.
“Do we have company? Or did you order something?”
Giselle looked guilty but then grinned widely. Her eyes still displayed the discomfort her body was receiving but… the bell that rang once again made her ask Brina to open the door.
“I think that person is very impatient, Brina. Please open the door.”
“But who?”Belongs to (N)ôvel/Drama.Org.
Giselle chose not to answer but gently pushed Brina’s shoulder.
“You owe me a lot of explanations, Giselle!” Brina grumbled. “How could she tell me what room she was in? If there were paparazzi? There’s news about her? Is it the same thing…” Brina finally opened the door. And to her surprise, the man was there.
Smiling slightly, she greeted him kindly. “Long time no see, Brina.”
“You…” Brina lost her words. “how did you… get…”
“May I come in? I was under the impression that Giselle was sick. Am I right?” Andrew was still trying to remain calm. Even though his head was buzzing with the many questions he wanted to ask. But no. He just needed to see and confirm for himself that Giselle was okay. It wasn’t what he had suspected over the phone.
He dared himself, after saying many incantations for himself to re-establish communication. He wanted to this morning, before he went about his activities amidst the hectic pile of financial reports of the tax consultant office near where he lived, he wished good morning and activities to the girl who had not left his heart. Unfortunately … the words were answered with a voice that made Andrew’s heart stop.
“But how could you…”
“Please, Brina.”
“Oh, alright!” Brina rubbed her chest, trying to be patient, to let Andrew come in and see Giselle. Which afterward… she had to massage her temples vigorously. Why did she have to be shown a romantic scene? But could this be considered romantic? Should she get out of this room? But… what about Giselle?
“Argh! These guys!”
