RECONCILED WITH FINN

Rita’s POV

“You kept a strange bouquet from an anonymous. The flowers might not even be yours” Evelyn raised the topic while we were having our lunch.

“They are mine. I thought the flowers were from Finn, but turned out Charles gave them to me” I shrugged a little.

“Finn didn’t send the flowers?” Adam asked.

“Sadly, No” I murmured.

“Sadly?” Evelyn raised her brows.

“I.. I mean I never expected flowers from Charles, we are not intimate; Finn and I are” I avoid stuttering.

“Charles is making advances towards you, he flirted with you yesterday, didn’t he? Today he got you lovely flowers, expect more from him ” Evelyn said.

I sighed slightly. “Charles is a nice guy and at least, he knows how to impress a woman. Did you notice how happy I was when I got the flowers?”

They looked at me weirdly.

“You know Rita, you’d better get back with Zane before another guy comes in between you two” Evelyn said.

“Anyways, have you made up with Finn?” Adam asked and I shook my head.

“We’re not on bad terms. According to him, he’s keeping his distance. Geez! I made a fool of myself by speaking to him today!”

“Huh, is there more to Finn not interacting with you like he used to?” Evelyn asked but I didn’t say anything. “Also, you said you expected the flowers were from him” She continued but I rolled my eyes and kept mute. “Hmmm” She looked at me suspiciously.

“I believe we all miss having Finn around us. The guy mingled with us because of you Rita. Therefore, if you two are not on good terms, so we are” Adam said.

Just when I tried to wave off the terrible feelings, I heard Finn’s voice behind me “Hi” Perhaps I imagined his voice but the look on Adam and Evelyn’s face confirmed he was the one, so I didn’t turn to look at him.

He pulled the chair, to sit next to me as usual.

“Rita” Until he mentioned my name, was when I looked at his face.

“Uhm?”

“Can we talk privately?” He asked.

Evelyn scoffed; “Spew it out here, we are one or whatever you say to her in private, she will come back to tell us. We are best friends”

“Shii Evelyn” I chided her and she gave an eye roll.

For some unsure reasons, I still had a soft spot for Finn that I couldn’t scold him. I wanted to listen to what he had to say. I missed him so much. I missed our closeness. I wanted us to get back together but he has a Fiancee now.

He led me to the VVIP’s table where he usually have his own lunch.

“You want us to discuss” I uttered when he signaled the waiter to bring us a meal.

He adjusted his seat and leaned forward; “I am so not comfortable with the way things are between us” He said when I didn’t say anything, he continued; “We were doing just fine and we were getting fond of eachother”

I interrupted him.

“As it shouldn’t be because you have a lover” I murmured.

“Doesn’t mean I should avoid you”

“Oh now it has just dawn upon you” I rolled my eyes.

He smiled, he was gonna touch my hand but I slid it down off the table, so he couldn’t touch me.

“You know one thing about having the slightest quarrel with someone, it makes it difficult to fix the initial bond again” I said.

“I’m sorry, are you still mad at me?” He asked solemnly.

“Nah, I am not”

“Then can we go back to the way we used to be?”

“I’m not sure. I… I wish” I paused; “I wish we never took this sudden break but I respect your reason for doing so” I stood up the minute the waiter came to serve us. “Just so you know, we are cool but we can’t be intimate anymore. We are moving extra, extra and messing with our emotions. We are both in a separate relationship, we should be careful” I said lastly and left his table.

I sighed and frowned a little when I was some steps away from him.

I didn’t look back at him because I could already feel him staring at me.

I also wish we could still be intimate but that will only grow my feelings for him which I’m tryna make it fade away.

I briefly made it known to Adam and Evelyn that Finn apologized and we are friends again. Nothing more.

“Any plans for the weekend Adam?” Evelyn broke the silence again.

“Err… no plans exactly. Weekend has always been weekend” Adam replied bluntly.

I knew why Evelyn asked, Adam’s birthday!

“You’re right! Weekend has always been weekend. I’m coming over to your place” Evelyn announced.

“That’s not a bad idea,” Adam smiled.

He’ll never see it coming.

I suddenly felt someone was looking deeply into my soul, I raised my head only for my eyes to meet Finn’s.

He looked pathetic, like I have hurt him so much or perhaps he doesn’t understand why I was in support of this aloofness.

Oops! Maybe he is actually dating someone to get over me but just can not.

The look in his eyes is loving yet it showed he was heart broken. He smiled at me when our eyes met, I also managed to wave at him as a cue that we were now on good terms.Exclusive © content by N(ô)ve/l/Drama.Org.
