Chapter 135
Chapter 135
135- Her wolf
"Stop! Stop it, Dominic! Listen to me, Dominic!" Athena called behind a raging Dominic who wasn't listening to anyone and continued to pull her to the stage with him.
Nobody could understand what was happening. They could understand that Athena was Dominic's mate. But they couldn't understand why she said what she said and why he was pulling her forcefully to the stage. They thought their alpha leader and Luna Lady loved each other too much to mark themselves as soon as possible. Then why was she saying something so absurd that made the alpha angry? Patricia and Justin shared a worried look with each other, fearing that Dominic was going to mark her forcefully. If he actually does that, things are going to turn really dirty. But do they have enough time to negotiate and understand what was going on in Athena's head?
No! Everyone was here. If Athena rejects Dominic in front of all these people, Dominic's rank as the alpha leader would immediately be taken away from him, regardless of him being chosen by the moon goddess.
That's a disaster!
"Dominic, stop! You have to stop and listen to me!" Athena said in a stern tone while pulling a wall between them which won't let anyone hear them other than Dominic. She would have mind linked him but that would let her wolf out from the cage in her mind where she kept her wolf in captivity. If her wolf comes out somehow it would lead to nothing but a disaster.
"I have heard you enough, Athena. Enough. I have had enough. Not anymore. The last time I did what I thought was right, when I rejected you. It didn't turn out well. And this is going to be the second time
when I am going to do what I think is right. And trust me, this is going to turn out to be the best decision ever for everyone. For Ace, for my pack, for each pack under me, for my people and for me. And for their betterment, I am going to do this, you may like it or not. I have had enough obstacles between us. This time I am not going to give any obstacle a damn. I don’t care if the obstacle is you either." Dominic grumbled out in anger while climbing up the stairs as everyone stared at them in confusion, unable to understand what's going on between them.
'Try to connect to her wolf.' Dominic commanded his wolf as he roughly pulled Athena on the stage, swirling her around to make her stand in front of him. She looked at him with widened and fearful eyes.
'I am trying but I am unable to do so. She's not answering to my calls. I feel an emptiness surrounding her space. It feels like she has never been there. What's wrong with my mate?!' Dominic's wolf howled in worry while pacing around in restlessness.
Dominic frowned deeply at her. Seeing the look on her face, he knew she did something despite his orders and warning. That made him more angry.
"What did you do, Athena? What's wrong with your wolf? Why isn't she replying to my wolf?" Dominic gritted his teeth at her. Thanks to the goddess, she created a wall around them which didn't allow anyone to hear their conversation but everyone could surely feel the tense atmosphere around them from their expressions.
He was beyond pissed at her. He knew this time it wasn't his fault. This time all he wanted to do was sort out everything between them and in their lives and all he wanted her to do is have patience and enough trust in him. But no! She was too impatient and went to solve things herself and brought trouble for both of them.
"I am asking you a fucking question, Athena! Where's your wolf?! What happened to her?!" He growled in fury, making her jump. She looked up at him with teary eyes.
"She...is not... available at this moment..." She said under her breath while looking away from his eyes.
"What do you mean by that, Athena? What was that supposed to mean? What did you do?" He asked in shock, trying to calm down a little. He could sense that something was terribly wrong. "And I don't want to hear any crap. I want the truth. The truth only." He said in a cold and a low growl coming from his chest and she looked guilty.
She knew she did something wrong and she didn't have any right to lie to Dominic at that moment. She would ruin everything for both of them if they fail to find any solution to her stupidity. And to do that, she needed to tell Dominic everything.
"I...I contacted Thea..." She whispered under her breath which he clearly heard. He frowned again.
"Thea? The witch? Why?" He asked in confusion, not finding any reason for her to contact a witch at that moment.
"You already know that my wolf is a special one. A red wolf, holding all the powers of the element fire." She sighed while looking down at her feet.
"Yes, so?" He asked, preparing himself for the worst.
"Thea said that all my powers would wake up gradually with training but I didn't get any chance to train to awake my powers and this day came. I had this bad feeling that something is going to happen today which I am never going to let that happen. And to do that, I need my power. It's not like I don't trust you. It's just I don't want to be a burden. This day is equally my responsibility as much as it's yours." She explained in dismay, making him sigh. He couldn't blame her for thinking that way.
"And what did you do to do that?" He asked, ready to hear the worst.
"I used magic to awaken all my powers and..." She trailed off, not knowing how to break the news to him.
"And?" Dominic looked at her with held breath.
"And the overwhelming powers made my wolf lose control because it happened all of a sudden. Now she has become... harmful."
