Chapter 487
Ronan stared at Casper, dumbfounded. "What do you mean, Mr. Casper? Haven't you already called off the engagement? Why are you still looking for Susan? Don't you know she's already engaged to someone from the Snyder family in Northside?" Ronan's face soured.
Casper shot him a dismissive glance, a smirk playing on his lips. "Who she's engaged to isn't my concern. I'm here to get something from her."
"What 'something'?" Ronan demanded.
Dillon stepped forward, a deep frown creasing his brow. "Mr. Ronan, just call Ms. Susan out. No need for all these questions."
"You're here asking me for something, and I can't even ask what it is?" Ronan snapped, his anger tinged with impatience. "Susan's already been tormented to the point of breaking. What could she possibly have that you want?"
"Mr. Ronan, I hope you can cooperate," Dillon said softly, rolling up his sleeves. "You know Mr. Casper's temper. He's not known for his patience."
"So what?" Ronan sneered, defiance blazing in his eyes. "You really think you can do whatever you want in Falconridge, like it's your family's playground? What happened to the law?"
"Law?" Dillon chuckled. "In Falconridge, Mr. Casper is the law. What he wants, he gets."
"You... you..." Ronan's fingers trembled as he pointed at Dillon. He couldn't win this argument or this fight, and it infuriated him. "At least tell me what you're here to take. Otherwise, I'm not letting Susan go with you." "Her cornea," Casper said coldly.
Ronan was stunned. He had imagined many scenarios, but this wasn't one of them. "What? Her cornea? Why do you need that? If you take it, she'll be blind. Who would want a blind girl? On what grounds are you taking my daughter's cornea?" But Ronan's thoughts were more on what use Susan would be without her sight.
"Because she drugged my wife and made her suffer needlessly," Casper retorted, his tone leaving no room for negotiation. "Not just her cornea-even if it were her life, she'd have to give it up. Otherwise..."
He turned to face an enraged Ronan. "...if you're willing to take her place, I'm fine with that."C0ntent © 2024 (N/ô)velDrama.Org.
"You... you..." Ronan stammered, knowing he couldn't sacrifice his own eyes. Casper was being utterly unreasonable. "You don't need to be so ruthless. The harm your wife suffered-wasn't it your fault? If you hadn't gotten engaged to Susan in the first place, none of this would've happened."
Casper acknowledged the truth in Ronan's words, but being called out on it was a direct challenge.
Ronan might not be able to bear the consequences of angering him.
"Looks like you're not planning to leave Falconridge, Mr. Ronan," Casper said, turning slightly to give Dillon instructions. "Book a VIP room for MORonan. Let him experience

"Yes, sir."
Ronan's heart sank, a sense of dread washing over him. "What do you mean, Mr. Casper? Are you putting me under house arrest?"
"You got it," Casper replied bluntly.
Ronan was speechless.
He hadn't expected Casper to be so forthright.
Powerful people never needed to mince words.
"Please, no, Ronan pleaded, immediately lowering his tone. In Falconridge, Casper was king, and Ronan knew he had no choice but to comply. "Take Susan with you, but..."
Dillon's eyes darkened. "Mr. Ronan, you still have conditions?"
"No, I wouldn't dare,” Ronan stammered. "I just mean, after you take Susan's cornea, could you send
someone to bring her pe
Ronan's fear was palpable. His legs felt like jelly.
Dillon nodded. "Of course."
Eliza's surgery went smoothly.
The cornea transplant was a success.
However, her eyes needed time to heal, so she remained unable to see for the time being.
