Chapter 621
Chelsea's car rolled up just in the nick of time. As she stepped out, her face was clouded with displeasure, and after throwing Casper a sharp, resentful look, she got right to work helping Eliza load her bags into the car.
Casper reached for Eliza's arm, trying to strike a deal. "How about you take a few days to cool off? I'll come by in a couple of days, and we can have a proper chat, alright?"
"No need," she replied, mustering every ounce of strength to get those three words out.
Life is full of only a handful of truly significant moments-birth, aging, sickness, and death. Yet, whenever she needed him, he was always absent.
A man's worth isn't measured by his smooth talk when things are easy, but by his unwavering presence
and support when life gets tough. And he... well, he managed to be there for Fiona and her son.
No matter how you slice it, he was a good father, at least to them.
As she was about to get in the car, she gave him one last reminder, "Don't forget to call Roberts; I'll be at the city hall on time."
Chelsea hit the gas, driving away.
Casper stood there, looking like a sad, lost soul...
After driving for a bit, Chelsea hit the brakes at a red light and turned to Eliza, puzzled. "Is he cheating? That secretary of his?"noveldrama
"No," Eliza replied, her voice flat. "It's his ex."
"His ex?" Chelsea was taken aback. She thought Casper's first love was Nova. "When did this ex come into the picture? Are you saying his ex came back to him?"
Eliza leaned her head against the window, her voice tired. "His ex and their child."
"What?" Chelsea was floored. "There's a kid involved?"
Eliza glanced at the green light ahead. "Just drive. We'll talk more at home."
"Damn, Casper's really a piece of work," Chelsea muttered under her breath.
Eliza felt the urge to curse too. But what good would it do? The bitterness and heartache would still be there.
Women shouldn't waste their energy fighting over a man. No man is worth that kind of effort.
Casper lit a cigarette outside, his handsome face obscured by smoke and a touch of melancholy. Once he finished, he headed back inside.
Fiona emerged from the kitchen,
looking every bit the perfect
homemaker. The table was
meticulously set, each dish thoughtfully arranged, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. The air was rich with delicious aromas, tempting anyone to see what she'd cooked up.
"Mr. Casper, Mom made your favorite dishes. Go wash up," Dylan said excitedly, tugging at Casper's hand and earnestly leading him to the bathroom.

The little guy quickly scampered back.
Fiona took off her apron and gently tousled her son's hair, her eyes full of love and affection. "Dylan, make eat plenty too, so you can
sure you
grow strong. You're happy Brock's feeling better, right?"
Dylan nodded enthusiastically, his eyes shining. "Mom, I'm really healthy! I'm happier than anyone that Brock is better!"
He felt like a hero.
A gentle smile spread across Fiona's face as she pulled out a chair for Dylan. "Mom wants to thank you on behalf of Brock."
"Mom, we're a family with Mr. Casper. Helping each other is the right thing to do," Dylan said, his face showing wisdom beyond his years.
At that moment, Casper came out of the bathroom.
Fiona's eyes brightened as she smiled at him. "I made some of your favorite dishes from memory. Let's see if they're to your liking."
Casper wasn't feeling very hungry.
What do you think?
