His Eagle Eyes on Me

Chapter 2956

Shelly paled at Avery's words. "Aunty, when will your driver arrive?"

"Probably in a while because he is dropping someone else off right now. Are you home today?"

"I am, but my apartment is messy."

"It's fine. I've bought quite a lot of things for you, so I will get him to carry them up to your apartment. You don't have to tidy your apartment for that. I know that you are busy with work..."

"Sure. Thank you, Aunty Avery." Unable to refuse Avery's offer, Shelly said, "I will come to visit you when I have the time."

"Of course. Just let me know when so I can be prepared," Avery said enthusiastically.

Shelly massaged her temples after hanging up. "Mom, Aunty Avery is sending someone to deliver gifts to me, and her driver will be here later. You need to take Audrey outside with you." Shelly was having a rather relaxing day up until the moment Avery called.

"It's so cold out there so where on earth am I supposed to go with Audrey?" Shelly's mother asked. "Everyone should be on holiday right now, right? Why is her driver still working?"

"Silly you. One gets paid more to work on days like this!" Shelly's father said. "Why don't I take Audrey outside and wait in the emergency stairway? The driver should leave as soon as he's delivered the gifts s he won't stay for long."

"All right! I will put Audrey's things away." Shelly immediately started gathering all things related to Audrey in the living room.

Her apartment had never been so messy before she had had children, but ever since she had given birth, she had had no time to tidy her apartment.

The bottles, toys, and clothes were everywhere.

"Don't panic, Shelly. Just put the things away in your room. They can't possibly go into your room." Shelly's mother hurried over to help her.

"I shouldn't have accepted the plants

they bought for me. Had they not called me ahead of time, they would have found out about Audrey." Shelly was starting to develop an even deeper bond with Audrey, and there was no way that she would ever give Audrey up to the Fosters

When she found herself in competition with a family so much more powerful than she, she could only do her best to hide Audrey from them.

"Don't be so pessimistic. Avery

seems like a nice person, sending you gifts for New Year's," Shelly's

mother commented. "You would et

"I know that, Mom. I'm not saying that they are bad people. I just can't lose Audrey: The mere thought of losing her kills me." Shelly gathered everything that belonged to Audrey into a big box before dragging the box into her room.

An hour later, the driver who worked for the Fosters called Shelly to inform her that he had arrived.

Shelly, her father, and her brother all went down to carry the things up to the apartment.

Since they managed to carry everything up on their own, the driver had not needed to step foot into the apartment.

The driver scratched his head sheepishly and said, "I'll get going then."

"Please do! Thank you!" Shelly watched as the driver entered the car and exhaled a long, relieved breath.

The three returned to the apartment, and Shelly's mother said with Audrey in her arms, "See, Shelly? It wasn't as bad as you thought it would be. Don't be so pessimistic next time."

"Maybe I am a little pessimistic!" Shelly opened the gifts. "Vitamins and supplements... Why did Avery send me all these? Do I seem weak or ill?"
