Chapter 2965
"And sell him our cakes?" Shelly asked.
"Of course, not! If it's a single man, you can entice him with your charm and see if you stand a chance of landing a date!" the staff member said. "Don't you want to marry someone rich? Tomorrow is the perfect chance for that."
Shelly flushed. "You've probably read too many romance novels. It's just a concert, and you manage to make so much out of it."
"Ms. Taylor, you don't go out much. I know plenty of girls who ran into handsome guys on the street and went up to them to ask for their numbers. Some got a date and some even have kids by now," the staff member said.
Shelly listened with interest and said, "Alright. Keep your imagination at bay. I only have one goal right now, and that is to focus on the cafe so that we can make enough profit to afford a bigger place. Of course, you all need a raise as well."
The staff member's eyes lit up. "Are we getting a raise, Ms. Taylor?"
She nodded. "Yes, you are getting one this month."
"You are awesome, Ms. Taylor! The cafe's business has only recently started to go up, and you are already thinking about a raise... You are the best boss I've ever seen."
"Business is smooth mainly because you are all working hard. Keep up the good work."Content © provided by NôvelDrama.Org.
"Thank you, boss!"
On Saturday, Shelly stayed home to take care of Audrey, and after lunch, she tidied up the kitchen and returned to her room to get changed, preparing to head out to the concert. "Mom, I can bring you dinner. What do you feel like eating?" Shelly did not want her mother to cook.
Mrs. Taylor smiled. "Just bring me
anything! I'm not picky. Today is
your off day, so stay out and honet
fun. Dcan just make something quick for dinner later."
"There's nothing much out here to do. I will come back after the concert," Shelly said.
She did not bother putting on makeup or washing her hair.
Ever since she became a mother, she hardly had enough time for anything at all, so she simply put on a hat and a blue down jacket before heading out.
She stood on the sidewalk and hailed a taxi.
Since it was a forty minutes drive from where she lived to the concert venue, she had planned everything so that she would arrive an hour before the concert started.
She waited half an hour until the audience was allowed inside, and as she presented her ticket, she noticed that every guest, regardless of their gender, had dressed up.
Instantly, she started regretting not doing so.
It was not that she did not want to dress up, but she had not been able to get much sleep with Audrey waking up multiple times throughout the night.
Her mother was responsible for taking care of Audrey on weekdays and Shelly would take over during the weekends.
Without enough rest, she became lazy on matters that did not seem crucial.
Upon entering the venue, she found her seat, and twenty minutes later, a man sat down next to her.
The unique and pleasant fragrance from the man filled her nose and she could not help but glance at him, only to notice that it was Hayden.
