Chapter 3058
This was the first time Avery had ever heard Hayden say something in such an urgent tone.
Hayden was always composed and remained in control of every aspect of his life.Property © of NôvelDrama.Org.
Avery smiled. "Are you planning to marry Shelly? I knew that you two would make great progress in your relationship after this outing. You two should just go ahead and get married. If you think doing it now is too rushed, you can get married on Valentine's Day."
Hayden had already gotten used to Avery's nagging and said, "We will discuss the wedding later. Come home now. There's something else I need to talk to you about."
Avery could not think of what Hayden would need to tell her but knew that it must be something important, or he would not urge them to go home when they were on vacation. Avery stood up from the lounge chair. "Do we need to rush back today?"
"As soon as possible." Hayden could not contain his excitement and wanted to share this surprise with his entire family, knowing that his parents would surely be overjoyed to see Audrey. Avery took her phone and immediately went inside, instructing Robert to pack their belongings.
"Hayden, can you tell me on the phone what exactly happened? You're making me anxious and uneasy... Can you give me a hint, whether it's good news or bad news?"
"If it's bad news, would you not come back?" Hayden teased.
"If it's bad news, I have to rush back quickly. If it's good news, I won't have to be so anxious!" Avery corrected him.
Hayden was just joking earlier and knew what kind of person his mother was.
"It's good news." Hayden stopped teasing her. "There's no need to hurry, so take your time and pack. It's okay to come back tomorrow."
"It's good news? I'll immediately come back! Okay, enough talking, I'll go pack my bags!" Avery said and hung up.
Elliot and Robert stared at Avery in confusion, and Avery immediately explained, "Hayden said there's good news he'd like to share with us and wants us to go home as soon as possible."
"What kind of good news?" Robert was confused. "Did he and Shelly get married?"
A look of surprise flashed across Avery's face. "That could actually be possible!"
"If they got married, there's no need for them to call us back in such a hurry. Getting registered doesn't require our presence like a wedding ceremony," Elliot said. He thought there must be some other reason Hayden had for wanting them back this quickly. "It must be something else."
"What else could it be? I really can't think of anything else! Hayden sounded really happy, though. Okay, let's stop dawdling and hurry back!" Avery was so overjoyed that she picked up her grandson and planted
a kiss on his chubby little face.
Meanwhile in Elliot's mansion, Hayden returned home with Shelly and Audrey.
Layla and Ivy were sitting on the couch, looking at clothes on a shopping app and discussing whether or not to buy them.
When Hayden returned, Layla and Ivy immediately stood up to greet him and the nanny was the first to go out to welcome them.
The nanny's smile froze when she saw Audrey in Shelly's arms. "This little baby is so cute! Whose child is this?"
"This is my daughter," Hayden replied.
The nanny's eyes widened, and she covered her mouth in disbelief.
Just then, Layla and Ivy walked out and were instantly shocked when they saw the child in Shelly's arms.
"Hayden! You went on a team-building trip and came back with a little girl?" Layla's imagination ran wild. "Did you find her on the way? She's actually quite pretty!" As she spoke, Layla took large steps toward them.
