CHAPTER TWENTY FOUR
“W-what are you doing here?”
“I want to talk to you.” My heart throbs so fast when I saw her standing outside. She looks ok and there is no trace of an accident. I became more and more nervous and I didn’t know why. My chest feels like anytime my heart will come out with so much excitement.
“Where’s your lawyer? Aren’t we not allowed to be close without a lawyer?” I tried to stabilize myself. I also don’t look at her face or her eyes because my knees are just softening. I want to pull her and hug and kiss her. Son of — I really miss her lips.
“You’re not allowed to come near me. Am I not allowed to come near you?” she asked. What if I will also file a restriction that she is not allowed to approach me. “Can I come in?” Relax, self, let’s relax.
“C-come in.” My knees became like a jelly suddenly. “S-seat.” Especially my tongue.
“Why did you ban me to the leave?” I swallowed first before answering. Margot is still calm and I can’t see her angry. But I shouldn’t look at her because by the time I see her face I’m done.
“You also filed a restriction on me. Blaze also banned me from the subdivision so it’s fair.” I simply blew air because of what I said. I’m not nervous but I want to manage myself. She shouldn’t know that her presence affects me so much.
“Call your lawyer and ask him to withdraw —”
“No,” ‘Don’t look on her face, Jace. Don’t look her in the eye.’
“Listen, Jace —”
“Listen, Margot, I let you restrict me from coming near to you. I let you file an annulment. So let me do what I want to. I know I’m at fault so I stayed away and wouldn’t interfere with you. Then now you’re going to look for me to tell me what to do? If you leave without telling me about your plan, you are already outside the Philippines.” ‘Go, Jace, we can do this as long as I won’t look at her.
“You’re still childish.”
“I am.”
“We’re still married, so I still respect you by letting you know that I’ll be leaving. Do you think, Jace, it would be that easy for me to accept what happened to me if I were here in the Philippines? No. One more thing, I will continue your restriction and the annulment.”
“Aren’t you really going to change your mind?” Not to brag but I know she still loves me. I feel like I still have an impact on her somehow. “If I let you go will you really leave forever and leave me? Will the annulment still continue?”
“Yes.”
“You don’t want me to be a part of your life anymore?”
“Yes.” Once and for all. There is nothing wrong if I try. Since she came here then, I will take advantage of that. I just need to be firm.
“Stay here for a night, and leave tomorrow morning. I will call the attorney to cancel the restriction so you can leave. You can go home tomorrow morning.”
“What?”
“I mean, stay here with me. Sleep with me, talk to me. Let’s reminisce about the past and if there’s really isn’t any chance. Then feel free to leave the country.”
“This is nonsense, Jace.”
“A childish I know. Take it or leave it.”
“Do you think it will work? We’re wasting our time. You will waste my time. I am hurt because of you and you want me to stay with you?”
“Then leave without taking anything from me.”
“Why are you doing this?”
“To save our marriage.”
“No use.”
“Ok, Then stay as Mrs. Enrile, and you can’t leave the country.” ‘Stand up for this, Jace. Be stubborn.’ I looked at her face and immediately avoided it because I saw she hesitated as if she didn’t want to. I shouldn’t look at her or else—-I’m dead once she begs me by her look.
“I don’t have anything.” I smiled. It feels like my plan is successful.
“Just wear my dress.”
“Jace, if you’re thinking that —-”
“Leave now without my words, or stay here in exchange for me withdrawing from the restriction.” I need to be strong because I might just suddenly change what she wants to happen. Maybe when I looked at her and she said I need to withdraw it, I would just agree easily.
“Do you mean it?” she asked.
“The restriction withdrawal? Yes.” I heard her deep sigh.
“Fine.” I won. I smiled and took a t-shirt and boxer then handed it to her.
“Change so your clothes don’t get dirty. I’ll just buy you food.”
“I’ll eat what you have.”
“Hotdog and egg.”
“TSS.” I opened the covered plate with two eggs and two hotdogs.
“Don’t be greeny, Margot, that’s really my dish. Do you like it or not?”
“Buy me anything. Biscuit and soda are fine.” I nodded and headed to the store and bought five biscuits and a liter of soft drink.
While walking home I can’t help but smile. The thought of Margot being with me has something that makes my stomach nervous and upset. It’s been more than three months since I sleep with her. I don’t know if it’s excitement or what. I’m just happy, period.
When I returned, she was already dressed. She’s really sexy. Especially now she was wearing my clothes. I feel —- secret.
“Here’s your food.” I also ate while she ate a biscuit. I am standing because there was only one chair. I saw her roll her eyes around. “We can stay at the hotel if you want.” Maybe she just doesn’t want to be here and she’s not comfortable.
“We can stay here.”
“Ok.” After I ate I sat down on the pallet. This is just right for one person but because Margot is sexy, we can fit in here so we can sleep. Can I really just sleep?
I saw her stand up and pick up her cellphone. She called someone and then looked at me. I’m sure Maggie was the one she called. When she finished she remained standing.
“Come on, lay beside me and we will talk. Here in my arms.”
“No.”
“See, Margot, I have nothing to do with you. I just want to talk to you. I only have one pillow so I offer you my arm. As I said earlier just reminisce and nothing else. Unless you can’t stop yourself.”
“Dream on.”
“Then come here and lay down.” I first heard her sigh before sitting down next to me. “Don’t be shy. Lay down.”
“Jace, I will warn —”
“Yes. You’re very nervous. Then what if something else happens. You’re still my wife.”
“Jace this is not—”Content (C) Nôv/elDra/ma.Org.
“Ok-ok lay down.”
********************
He slowly sat up and looked at me. She’s hesitant to lay down on the side. Son of — why does her smell soothes on my nose? I want to laugh because she looks like a stump lying next to me. Her body stiffened and was seemingly unwilling to almost move.
“I’m sorry and it’s just for one person because I am alone in this bed.” I never heard anything from her. “There’s no other woman lying here but my wife only. If you’re trying hard I can climb on you so we can fit.”
“Shut up.” I just laughed at her reaction because I saw her blush.
“Why didn’t you stop me, Margot?” I seriously ask.
“What?” She looked at me who had been facing her. I saw her swallow and bite her lips.
“You’ve known that I had an affair with Brianna for a long time but why didn’t you stop me and let me drown in my sin against you?”
“Don’t blame me for your mistakes. You like what’s happening to you.”
“I don’t blame you and I wholeheartedly accept my fault. All I want to know is why didn’t you confront me?” She averted her gaze on the roof.
“I let you because I knew you were happy with her.”
“How can you be sure?”
“What do you want to say, Jace?”
“How do you make sure I am happier with her?”
“Because you won’t cheat me if you’re happy with me.”
“I won’t marry you if I’m not happy with you.”
“You’re just forced.”
“Nothing has forced me yet, Margot. And I’m not going into anything if I’m not sure.”
“You said I was assuming.”
“Because you didn’t wait for me to court you.”
“Why, will you?” She looked at me.
“Yes.” She did not answer. “Of all the women I’ve been with, in you only who I don’t use protection even though I know it can be formed but I’m still put my seed inside you. I didn’t force you to do what you don’t want and I respect a sex position you want. Even though I’m not used to softcore, gentle core, and missionary positions I’m happy to be with you. Why do you think the reason?”
“Jace I don’t know and I don’t care.” She averted her gaze again.
“You must have to know. Yes, I didn’t want to lose Brianna then, but I married you because I also don’t want to lose you. Not because of Umami, but because of you. Margot, I’m childish, aren’t I, immature? So I need your guidance but you did not guide me. You just let me.”
“If I restricted you to go with her, would you listen?”
“Yes.”
“Stop it, Jace,”
“How many times have I proven to you that, right? That you are my priority more than anyone or anything. I always put you first in anything. You never said that I disobeyed. If I did something wrong or I followed my wishes I did it because you had a blessing. If I did something against it, it would be if I ran away. But isn’t it where I am and you say you need me that I still put you first? Don’t say you don’t feel that above all you are my priority? ”
I don’t blame her for my mistake. I just want to remind her that more than anyone else she is my priority. I was tempted by others but with just one word from her, I still follow her.
“Margot, did you love me?” She looked at me with a frown. “Because I feel no. Because if you loved me, you would have fought for your rights.” She stood up so I pulled her up and laid her on my arm. “Just stay here. Otherwise, you wouldn’t expect withdrawal from me.”
“Jace,”
“Reminisce, open talk. Now, answer me.” She wasn’t looking at me but at the roof.
“Jace, I love you more than you think. I left you because I know I can’t give you everything you need. I’m different from the woman you want to be with. I’m not the one you want. Not the woman you need, but I need you. So even though I know it’s wrong, I let you as long as I’m with you. I don’t care if you’re with her as long as you’re mine. That is why I am hurt because right in front of your friends I heard you don’t love me. That it’s ok for you to out from your life. Despite everything, it is ok for you to lose me.”
“It was my mistake, yes, out of disappointment at the loss of Brianna so I was angry with Maggie. But not because I love her more than you. But you’re right, I’m guilty of what I did to her so I want to make up for my guilt without thinking right. Also, I was just teasing Maggie back then because she had done nothing but harass me so I scolded her.”
“Too late, I’m already hurt. You lost her either.”
“Am I that rude if I say I don’t care about her? You, Margot, you’re all I need.” I caressed her arm and gave her a tender kiss.
“Don’t go on with what’s on your mind, Jace. We will end tonight, and tomorrow I will still, leave you.”
“You know why Umami, the name I want for my child?” I turned her to me and looked at her lips.
“Jace, no matter what happens now I won’t change my mind. I will leave.”
“Because her mother is the best lips that I’ve ever tasted. Her mother’s lips are the ones I miss the most to kiss. Umami is from the best juice I’ve ever tasted.” I caressed her arm.
“Jace, please that’s enough.”
“Umami is the juice of the woman I respect. But you, Margot, you are the real umami of my life.” I kissed her neck.
“Jace, please.”
“You’re still my wife, give me what I want tonight, and tomorrow I’ll give you what you want.”
