Chapter 96 (Liam)

Chapter 96 (Liam)

Raphael’s eyes sparked up a sudden rage as he threw the sword at Liam. But Liam was too fast, with only a look, the sword went up in blue disintegrating flames.

Allistor grinned wickedly, “Who is this foolish boy who taunts me with childish tricks.”

He stared at Liam but referred to the Asguardians to answer. All content © N/.ôvel/Dr/ama.Org.

Vincent came out from the bush, “William Blackwyll, father.”

Alexa still ducked behind the trees. Liam shook his head, in a deep inhale, he glared at Raphael who held another sword.

Allistor raged in disbelief, “Father? I’m not your father-child. I father no one, besides that of my first consort, Daleyan, are you Daleyan’s boy.”

“No,” Liam answered, amusement intended, “He is the son of Taliya Ipswich, the only son.”

Allister's beautiful white wings, which had flapped constantly, had come to a stop. He folded it in, his eyes softened.

Liam felt a sort of remorse for Vincent, he watched the hopefulness in the Casters eyes, the longing for a father.

Allistor remembered, “I have not forgotten Taliya, your mother. My heart fell the day she died, how tragic, wasn’t it.”

Vincent jumped forward into mid-air, his movements brisk, guns in hand, but Allistor just booted him.

Liam did nothing to intervene but watched. One like him had all the patience, it was rarely he let it falter.

Allistor pounced back, “I should have killed you, but I showed you mercy and this is what I get.”

“You killed my mother, she was no threat to you.”

“Yes, but to Lucifereal she was. She knew of his children and was supposed to deliver them to us, but she failed. She knew her faith, she didn’t even beg, not for you, how pathetic. I thought you dead by now.”

Vincent got up off the floor, not dusting himself off. It was Liam who remained cool and collective. Raphael’s lack of patience shedding through his eyes. The other two Asguardians finding the air hypnotic had taken seats on a large rock.

“Fair enough Allistor.” Liam acknowledged, “I would show you mercy as you have your son, but in our next meeting I will show you the same faith you had shown Taliya and Daleyan.”

“Ah, young William lacks no confidence in his capability of handing me my death.” He took a step back, his blonde hair blowing in the wind.

Liam often wondered what became of the Tempters’ souls when they fell. He remembered Allistor, with his blue watery eyes and bright smile, though Allistor did not know of him now. He watched Allistor flap his wings, freely.

Allistor was never made an Archangel like most of the Cadre who ruled hell. Unlike the others, his wings remained always, a continuous reminder of his ranks in the Infinity. It made him a ruthless Tempter. The blue visionary eyes which Liam had recalled, were replaced by blackness, the colour of his soul. A sign which most Tempters refrained from- killing innocents.

When it came to Azazy-el, he had compelled himself from harshness and murdering innocents. Though he broke rules, it was ones he felt strongly about. A well thought out decision. A smile crossed Liam’s thought as he concentrated on the people in view.

Alexa rolled out of the bushes her eyes fuming with rage, “It’s a trap, demons are surrounding us.”

Liam didn’t quiver, “Allistor, call off your demons.” His tone was a direct one of command. His own blue eyes brightened with the chaos it would release if his order was not addressed. Liam was not one you said no to, not when he was like this.

“They are not mine, I have no jurisdiction here, but you knew that already.”

Allistor’s wings flapping higher, the whiteness of his feathers washed away by the reddened sky. He began to lift off, “If you really must know, my hunt’s for Azazy-el, I heard he knows the identity of the Prince of souls.”

Liam remained cool, it seemed that Allistor had just answered his question for him, “Prince of souls huh? What do you want with him?”

“It’s not me who wants him, young William. There are greater threats than a member of hells Cadre, ones only Lucifereal would not fear.”

“What could be more threatening than hells Cadre?” It was more of a bland statement, really.

“Those who seek the rein of all, of course!” Allistor looked up at the blood-red sky, redness all around them. The suffocating air working its poisonous glooms on all. Even the Tempter seemed fragile. But Liam stood his ground, there were still demons to fight.

Raphael contorted into heading for shelter. Liam kept his eyes on Allistor, but his mind reaching Vincent, ‘Prepare to run, Allistor will try and kill you. Take the back entrance, jump into the lake. I slipped a stone in your pocket, hold it tight it’ll take you to where you need to go. Tell Jullie all that you heard here today, she would know what to do.’

Alexa pulled out two short swords, squatting on her knee, back straight. Liam could hear them, the demon cries. He knew once Allistor left, he would inform Lucifereal of what happened today, but if he left first, Vincent would die.

Allistor was wicked beyond that of saving, “run” the words spoken were short and final, and only heard by Vincent. Allistor charged at Vincent when he hit the ground hard with his boots, running back toward the cottage.

Liam jumped up, his body ablaze in its majestic glory. His skin as glittering as the rarest form of diamonds, a burst of blue and white energy flowed into his fingers, making his body blaze brighter by the second. With it grew something long, strong, held in his hand, it grew. The blazing blue and ice trickles of fumes proceeded through the unearthed weapon, forming a wide cut, long length, sword. His eyes brightened, the ice now frosted with smoke around him.

Allistor stopped as he witnessed the transformation, his wings flapping in the air. Liam focused only a fraction on Vincent, he could hear the water, he was safe.

Allistor screamed, the sound of an anchoring siren. With it, he saw the demons from the sky charge ferociously at him. Liam dropped himself down to the floor, landing flat on his boots.

Alexa was taking on a dragonfiely. Liam’s fumes blazing in its blues and his eyes still adorned with its desirable beauty.

Allistor as he suspected left, flew off, but Liam knew this wasn’t over, not until Allistor’s blood had touched his blade.

He focused on the battle in front of him, fighting the demons as they charged him. With swift and quick glides of his sword, not making much effort, they grizzled down to dust as they met their fate with his blade. This round had taken him minutes.

Alexa still fighting at his side, loyal not to him but to Calub. But, he knew this battle he fought was not for Clare, but for another. Another long-forgotten- Roselletta.

With the shields up, it'll be days and many battles later before he left this place, and as his blade greedily consumed the death of its enemy, William relished in one thought.

He would hunt Clarebella Ravensword down and claim her. And anybody who tried to take her away, will know no worse death than the one he’d deliver.
