Chapter 1026: The Child Still Exists
Afterwards, Rachel was dead set on divorcing Dylan. But when Dylan and Rachel got married, it was a
match made in heaven, and both sets of parents were delighted. The current situation was truly
embarrassing.
However, later on, because Phoebe pleaded earnestly, Rachel temporarily abandoned the idea of
divorce. And as time went on, Dylan became almost submissive to Rachel's demands.
Maybe it was because he felt that the Old Mr. Lawrence and the Old Mrs. Lawrence had favored him so
much that not letting them divorce would be subjecting Rachel to this humiliation.
This made Rachel somewhat obsessed, encouraging Dylan several times to compete with Miller to
prove himself. This content © Nôv/elDr(a)m/a.Org.
This eventually led to Rachel and Dylan desperately wanting to take control of the Lawrence family.
Listening to Zane narrate all this, Yanis felt like a suspended heart had finally found its place.
After Zane finished, he held Yanis's hands and said, "Yanis, it's only you for me."
Yanis met his deep gaze and softly responded, "Mmm."
Zane gazed at her for a while, and then couldn't resist bending down to kiss her again, this time with a
touch of tenderness.
After a brief kiss, Zane let go of her. "Shall we go downstairs?"
Yanis nodded, "Sure."
As they made their way downstairs, Dylan and Rachel were sitting together, while Lisa sat on the other
side with an ice pack on her face.
When Lisa saw Zane coming down, she stood up with the same coquettish attitude. "Zane."
Zane's face turned cold as he led Yanis to the couch and sat down. "Why did you come here?"
Lisa looked at him and said, "Aren't you happy to see me? You used to be so fond of me. We even
used to sleep together..."
"Lisa!" Rachel cut her off before she could finish, "Have a little self-respect, won't you?"
Lisa ignored Rachel and just kept looking at Zane.
Zane didn't give Lisa any attention. "If you don't have anything important, leave. Don't make it
embarrassing for everyone later."
Zane's words were polite, but Lisa's face still changed.
"Zane, I'm your aunt. Is it appropriate to treat me like this?" Lisa asked.
Zane raised his eyes to meet hers. "Aunt or not, aren't you clear about your true intentions?"
Lisa's face changed subtly. Although she wasn't really his aunt, Zane was the only person she could
turn to now.
So, regardless of what Zane and Rachel said, Lisa had no intention of leaving.
"Zane, I know you're still angry about what happened in the past, but I didn't know what it was at that
time. So, I gave it to you. If I had known, I would never have given it to you," Lisa pleaded softly.
Zane didn't respond.
Just then, the doorbell rang.
Yanis glanced at the aunt who was busy preparing dinner and went to open the door.
It was Phoebe and the Old Mr. Lawrence who had arrived.
The Old Mr. Lawrence's face looked terrible, and he didn't even bother to speak to Yanis. He went
straight to Lisa as soon as he entered. "Get out of here immediately!"
Lisa was still afraid of the Old Mr. Lawrence. When he said this, her face turned cold, and she didn't
respond.
"I'm talking to you. Can't you hear me?" the Old Mr. Lawrence asked sternly when Lisa remained silent.
Lisa glanced at him. "I came to see Zane. I just wanted to check on him, nothing else."
"What else do you want? You come running to Zane without a word. Do you dare to say you have no
ulterior motives?" Rachel said, her voice full of anger.
The Old Mr. Lawrence's eyes were fixed on Lisa. "I'll say it again. Get out of here immediately!"
Lisa didn't move from where she was standing.
The Old Mr. Lawrence turned to Dylan and commanded, "Dylan, get her out of here!"
"You can't treat me like this!" Lisa suddenly shouted loudly.
The Old Mr. Lawrence looked at Lisa. Just as he was about to speak, she said, "The child from back
then is still alive! He's a Lawrence family member! Don't you want him?"
Her words stunned everyone present, especially Rachel. She stood up in shock, looking at Lisa with
fear in her eyes. "What did you say?"
Lisa looked at Rachel and said word by word, "I said I didn't abort that child from back then. He's alive
and back with me now!"
Lisa's words felt like sharp knives stabbing Rachel's heart. Back then, she compromised and continued
her life with Dylan because Lisa had supposedly aborted the child. Even if they had really been
together, without any entanglements, Rachel was still the legitimate wife.
But now, after over a decade, a person who had disappeared suddenly reappeared and claimed that
the child was alive. This made Rachel feel like someone had slapped her hard and then forced a
poisonous potion down her throat, making her suffocate.
Lisa was now in her thirties, but she looked like she was in her twenties due to her good maintenance.
Dylan stood there dumbfounded, unable to react.
Finally, Phoebe snapped out of her daze. "Are you talking nonsense?"
Lisa glanced at Phoebe. "What's wrong with having one more brother?"
Phoebe couldn't contain her anger. "You're shameless!"
With the situation having escalated to this point, Lisa decided not to cause any more trouble. She threw
the ice pack on the table and looked at Dylan. "If you want to live peacefully, give me fifty million now.
I'll disappear with my son immediately. But if you don't, I'm sorry, we will pester you to the end."
"You're saying that child belongs to my dad, and he is my brother?" Phoebe asked Lisa in a serious
tone.
Lisa smiled confidently. "If you don't believe me, you can call someone now, and we'll go to the hospital
together for a paternity test. Then we'll know for sure, won't we?"
Lisa's confident appearance made it hard to tell she was lying.
Though the Old Mr. Lawrence hated Lisa to the bone, if the child was indeed Dylan's, then it would be
his grandchild. So, the Old Mr. Lawrence hesitated for a moment.
"Let's do a paternity test!" the Old Mr. Lawrence said after a short silence.
"Dad!" Rachel exclaimed, "You believe what she says?"
The Old Mr. Lawrence replied in a low voice, "We'll know for sure after the test."
Rachel wanted to say something else, but the Old Mr. Lawrence stopped her and looked at Lisa. "Call
him right now. We're going."
