Chapter 713 The Happily Married Couple (Part Two)

Maintaining a serious look on his face, Tim finally said,"Cassie was one of your classmates at college if

I am not wrong? And you both were a couple at that time, weren't you?"

"Get to the point," demanded Greg, his head lowered down. He didn't want to look at Tim's eyes, but he

knew in his heart that whatever Tim was saying was true. Greg knew that his friend would have done a

comprehensive investigation.

"When she came back home, she told one of her friends who is a well-known journalist that she has

come to China to find the missing part of her heart," said Tim, looking at Greg continuously. He paused

for a second and went on,"You are the missing part of her heart, aren't you?"

Greg kept silent and didn't reply back.

Tim then continued,"I also found out that Cassie's parents are all abroad. She has come back to China

all alone. No one takes such a big risk until they know what they want to get by taking that step. Cassie

has always got what she has wanted and she would not want to lose her winning streak by any chance.

If she has come back to China all alone, it means that she wants something or someone and she will

go to any extent to get that person or thing back in her life."

Tim stressed the last few words of his last sentence rather emphatically. If his guess wasn't wrong,

Cassie had come back to China only for Greg. From what he had learned in his investigation, she still

loved Greg and wanted him at any cost.

Greg kept quite while Tim was telling him everything.

Tim became silent after he had said everything. He had told Greg the information he had and now it

was Greg's turn to say something about the entire matter.

"When I went abroad, Violet called me up and she said she wanted to end our relationship. I realized

that she was so eager to send me away so that she could break up with me," Greg narrated in a

miserable tone. "I was frustrated and heartbroken, her change of heart had hurt me so much that I

used to cry day and night."

"So Cassie was the one who helped you come out of that phase?" Tim guessed and asked Greg.

Greg nodded and continued,"She brought breakfast for me, and tried to console me with her not so

fluent English. When I would see her smiling at me I used to think that Violet has come back to my life."

Greg then paused for a few seconds and continued,"And then I cheered up. She was always with me,

trying to make me feel better. We went to parties together, had classes together and even had meals

together."

Greg's tone of speech was grave, but he was still telling the truth. "And one day, after we were coming

from a friend's party, she told me that she loved me and wanted to be my girlfriend. At that moment, I

still thought about my true love i.e. Violet. Even though she had broken up with me, I still could not think

of a life without her."

"So I rejected Cassie's proposal there and then. It was the first time that I saw a girl who always

remained strong crying in front of me. The next day, she still came to me and brought breakfast for me.

She told me that I could still treat her as a good friend in the future. She said she would stay with me as

usual, and she would wait for the day when I would also love her the way she loved me," stated Greg.

"And then, what happened?" Tim looked at Greg seriously and asked.

"I told her that I love a girl and no one can take her place in my life. But she was adamant, and she said

she would keep trying to win my heart and one day she would be successful," answered Greg.

"Did both of you spent all your time together at that time?" Tim continued asking Greg.

Greg shook his head and said,"No. Six months before I came back we separated. Her parents had

arranged an internship for her and she had to go there. When my time to return came, I did not inform

her and just came back."

"It seems that she knew the news of your return, so she came here for you," replied Tim. After he heard

what Greg said, he didn't think Cassie was a woman who was easy to deal with. She had been waiting

for Greg for five years. It seemed that her perseverance and state of mind were beyond the reach of

ordinary people. ConTEent bel0ngs to Nôv(e)lD/rama(.)Org .

"That might be the reason," Greg too agreed with Tim's opinion.

"So you haven't met each other after her coming back, have you?" Tim asked.

"No, I haven't met her yet. If I had already met her, I would not have asked you to find out," replied

Greg. He knew very well that Cassie had come back for him, but how would he tell this to Violet, who

loved him so much? Violet was totally dependent on him, and his separation made her sad and moody.

Knowing her nature how could he tell Violet about Cassie? She would be so upset. Once she got to

know would she feel so disappointed and upset with him? Would she feel bad or understand the whole

matter?

Tim suddenly didn't know what to say to Greg. After thinking for a moment, he asked,"Does Violet know

about Cassie and that she has come back?"

"No, I haven't told her about Cassie," answered Greg.

"Well, you need to figure out what all to tell her about Cassie. I guess you would be worried more about

Violet now," said Tim. He then went on,"For the time being, Cassie is living in a hotel. All hospitals,

including your XS Hospital, are waiting for her to join them. Nobody knows which hospital she will

decide to work in. I hope it is not XS hospital."

Obviously, Greg and Tim already knew what Cassie's answer was going to be. Since Cassie had come

back to China for Greg, it was not difficult to guess which hospital she would join now.

"The only person I'm worried about now is Violet," said Greg.
