Chapter 723 Violet's Call With Alice (Part Three)
Chapter 723 Violet's Call With Alice (Part Three)
"Ok darling, you do all the housework," Violet echoed him, as she made her way to the bathroom,
happy with the outcome.
The sound of splashing water and Violet's laughter could be heard over the soap opera playing on the
television in their apartment. There was an air of seduction in the bathroom as the couple shared some
private time.
"It's too hot, Greg," Violet moaned.
"Then add more cold, darling," Greg advised, as she was closest to the nozzle.
"Stay there," she commanded, adjusting the nozzle so it was a little cooler.
"Come here," Greg said, pulling Violet back towards him, wrapping his large, protective arms around
her.
Tying a bath towel around his waist, Greg scooped Violet up and carried her out of the bathroom. He
placed her gently on the kingsize bed and leaned over to turn off the lamps on the bedside tables.
"Guess who doesn't have to be up early in the morning, darling?" Greg whispered to her, a wicked
smile on his lips.
"Even so, my love, we shouldn't stay up too late. We have things to do," Violet retorted, ever the
sensible one.
"Well, you said you'd give me whatever I wanted, so it's not your call," Greg replied, acting dominant.
"You're such a liar, Greg," Violet grumbled, but she was only joking. She curled up in his arms.
The clock struck twelve noon as sunlight filtered through the curtains into their bedroom. Greg and
Violet lay sleeping peacefully, entwined in the sheets. The heat of the night they had spent hung in the
air.
Suddenly, the peal of a phone disrupted their sleep.
"Greg, that's my phone ringing," Violent mumbled, opening one eye lazily.
Greg blinked a few times, yawning as he reached for the phone on the bedside table. "It's Aunt Amy,"
he told Violet, as he glanced a the screen quickly.
"Oh, I see," Violet replied, wiping the sleep from her eyes and gesturing for the phone.
Greg answered for her, and put the phone to her ear.
"Hello, Amy," Violet began.
"Hello Violet, are you busy?" her sworn mother asked. Amy's voice boomed through the phone, as
Violet adjusted to being awake.
"No, I'm not busy. What's up?" Violet replied.
"Alice called us. She mentioned that you and Greg are picking her up at the airport, so we don't need
to. We're going to book a restaurant, so we can all eat dinner together. We'll meet you there, okay?"
"Ok, I can call you once I've met Alice. Does that sound okay?" Violet enquired.
"Perfect. I'll send you the address by text once I've reserved somewhere for us," Amy proposed.
"Great, bye." Violet rung off, and put the phone down.
She closed her eyes again, drifting back to sleep in moments.
Greg placed the phone back on the bedside table and watched Violet as she breathed deeply in
slumber. A sense of satisfaction pervaded his body as he thought, 'This is my woman, right here with
me. Life is good."
Greg gathered Violet back in his arms and also fell back to sleep.
At 2:00 pm the alarm broke their peace, breaking the silence as they stretched out. Violet blinked,
looking at the numbers on the clock. "Greg, wake up," she said, shaking him gently.
"Just another half hour," Greg moaned, refusing to open his eyes.
"No, that's not gonna happen. You need to be up now. Do you hear me? I told you to go asleep at 2:00
am, but you kept on at me. If only you'd have listened," Violet berated him.
"Hmmm, I thought it was you who promised to listen to me in bed," Greg countered, still keeping his
eyes firmly shut.
"Are you getting up or not?" Violet asked, wriggling free of his hands. "I'm up." She grabbed her silk
nightgown and popped it over her head. She threw a glance back to Greg as she left the bed. In the
bathroom, she got ready for the day, dressing and applying make-up.
Reluctantly, Greg sat up in the bed. Seeing the sunlight, he realised that half the day had passed and it
was already the afternoon.
When they were both ready, they came downstairs together. Greg remembered his promise about
preparing the meals and took the bread and milk out of the fridge. They ate together, content in their
memories of the night before.
As Greg drove them to the airport, Violet suggested,"How about we sleep in the Chu family's residence
tonight? That's closer to Alice's house."
"Sure," Greg agreed, quietly thinking, 'With Alice back, her and Violet will be up half the night talking.
I'm not even sure she'll come to bed with me tonight."
"Great, I'll give Lily a call then," Violet responded, pulling out her phone to dial Lily.
"Hello, this is Lily," Lily answered politely.
"Lily, it's me, Violet," Violet greeted her with a gentle laugh.
"Hi, Violet," Lily gushed,"What's up? How come you're calling?" she asked.
"I'm going to stay at home tonight with Greg. Can you make sure my room is clean?" Violet asked.
"That's no problem, Violet. What's made you decide to spend the night here?" Lily enquired.
"Alice is coming back from abroad today. Greg and I are on our way to the airport to pick her up right
now, so it's seemed like a good plan to stay at the Chu family's residence tonight." Violet explained to
her.
"I see. I will get the room ready for you," Lily confirmed. "Will Alice also sleep here tonight? Should I Material © NôvelDrama.Org.
prepare the guest room for her?" she probed.
Violet hesitated. 'I'd love to sleep in with Alice and have one of our late-night conversations, I have so
much to tell her, ' she mused.
Having heard the exchange, Greg took the phone off Violet, deftly manuevering the steering wheel with
his left hand. "Hello Lily, it's Greg. Yes, please do tidy the guest room for Alice. We haven't asked her.
But if she wants to stay in with Violet, then I can take the guest room," he informed her.
"Ok, I can do that," Lily replied.
Violet hung up the call and turned to Greg. "Thank you, my love," she said gratefully, touched that he
had been so considerate.
Greg took her right hand in his. "Darling, don't be silly, you're my wife. There's no need to be so formal
with me," he grinned.
"I know that, but you really do give me the best treatment," she acknowledged, as she stuck out her
tongue at him.
