Chapter 755 Sensational News (Part Two)
"Thank you so much, but I can go by myself," replied Alice. With that, she walked towards the door.
She stopped at the door and turned around to look at Greg. She asked,"Is Violet's name engraved
forever in your heart? You won't leave her, right? I know that you two love each other so much. You
need to be kind to her even if she's difficult sometimes."
Saying that, Alice left.
Tim followed her out of the Presidential Suite to get back to his room, but he saw his assistant standing
outside his door. Tim was confused. She should have been off work a long time ago, why was she still
here?
"Mr. Tim," she bowed and greeted him respectfully.
"Do you need something?" Tim asked, coming to a halt in front of her.
"There is one thing which I thought you should know," she said. She considered for a few seconds
before she decided to tell Tim about the incident.
"Say it," said Tim, getting impatient.
"When I took Mr. Greg upstairs, I saw a reporter at the lobby on the first floor, who was taking pictures
of Mr. Greg and Miss Cassie."
"What?" Tim was taken aback. "Why was there a reporter in the lobby?"
She stood aside and stayed silent.
Tim then gave an order,"Check who the reporter is! Find him!"
"Yes, sir," the assistant replied. She then nodded to Tim politely before she turned and left.
The next morning, the sensational news about Greg and Cassie spending the night together disturbed Published by Nôv'elD/rama.Org.
the whole city. All major website platforms and morning newspaper headlines were overwhelmed by
their photos, showing intimate pictures of them in the parking lot and proof of their physical attachment
as they walked into the elevator of the hotel together. Moreover, the emotionless report which compiled
the story about their love hurt the hearts of those who cared about them.
In the villa of the Lu Family, Alice was still in bed when Amy rushed in and hastily woke her out of her
slumber.
"Alice, wake up and go downstairs. Dad is waiting for you and he wants to ask you something," said
Amy, whose voice was not gentle as usual. She was upset about something and was in no mood to
treat her baby daughter gently.
"Mom, I need to get some more sleep. What's the emergency? I'll talk to Dad in the evening," said
Alice, sleepily. She had stayed up late last night, looking for Greg and had reached home only early in
the morning. She was a little irritated that her Mom was waking her up so soon.
"It's about Violet. Get up and go downstairs quickly. Your Dad is not in a good mood," her mother
warned.
As soon as she heard that it was about Violet, Alice immediately opened her eyes. She was afraid that
her Dad might have found out that she had gone looking for Greg last night.
When she saw that Alice was wide awake, Amy said,"Get changed and go downstairs now."
"Alright!"
As soon as Alice came downstairs, she felt that the atmosphere in the living room was not the same as
usual. There was no sign of the nanny in the living room. It looked like only her father was there on the
first floor.
"Good morning, Dad," greeted Alice, and sat at a certain distance away from him. "Mom told me that
you have something to ask me. What's the matter?"
If her guess served her right, her Dad wanted to know something about Greg and Violet, but she
couldn't ask him that directly now. She needed to know how much he knew about them so that she
would know what to say and what not to.
"How is the relationship between Violet and Greg going recently?" Derek came straight to the point. He
didn't think he needed to beat around the bush with his daughter. He knew that Alice was close to
Violet and that she would definitely know everything about them.
"They're fine," replied Alice without hesitation, pretending to be carefree about the question. "You know
it's normal for young couples to have arguments sometimes, but you need to trust them to keep it
together. They love each other very much."
"Fine? Is this what you call fine?" asked Derek as he threw the morning newspaper in front of Alice.
"What do you mean. Dad?" asked Alice, picking up the newspaper. She froze as she read the
headlines in the front page, written in bold letters.
'The heir of XS Hospital in an affair with the famous female doctor; couple seem pretty intimate.'
Alice silently read the newspaper article. She was speechless. She knew that the photos were probably
taken by someone last night, but the story was completely fabricated. It was far from the truth.
"Does this newspaper want to be shut down? How dare they report such false news? Dad, let's buy this
newspaper and shut it down!" snapped Alice.
"Tell me what you know. What the hell is going on? This news has been reported on all website
platforms and newspapers," Derek said, ignoring Alice's words. He was really angry when he saw the
news first thing in the morning. When he read the article, he was going to rush to XS Hospital to
confront Fred and ask him to discipline his son. However, he had been through stuff like this in his
many years of ups and downs, and he knew how much the media loved to gossip and create fake
news. So, he decided to talk to Alice first before he jumped into conclusions. He had to protect Violet
from any harm. Since Jackson and Cherry were far away in Hong Kong, it was his job to take good
care of Violet for them.
After seeing the angry look on her Dad's face, Alice figured it was better not to hide anything from him
at this point. If she refused to tell him what she knew about Greg and Cassie right now, he would
definitely learn it from someone else by any means.
"Alright, Dad. I'll tell you whatever I know. Cassie went to college with Greg when he was abroad. And
she fell in love with him at the time, and now she has come back to China for him. What happened last
night has nothing to do with what is reported in this newspaper. Greg and Violet had a quarrel, and he
went to a bar to have a drink. But unfortunately, he met Cassie at the bar. She acted like she was
worried about him and tried to get close to him. She then took him to Tim's hotel after he was drunk.
Fortunately, Tim and I reached the hotel on time and drove her away. So in the end, nothing really
happened. Greg would never betray Violet. I promise," Alice said, and held her hand up in a gesture to
show her honesty. She hoped her dad would believe her.
