Chapter 760 Believe In Love (Part One)
Chapter 760 Believe In Love (Part One)
The moment Cassie's car arrived at the hospital gate, a group of journalists rushed towards her along
with many of patients' families and some of the pedestrians.
Cassie was terrified when they surrounded her car all at once.
The journalists knocked on her car windows, asking questions-
"Cassie, since you have so many romantic affairs abroad, why did you return to this city?"
"Cassie, is yesterday's headline true? Someone said that yesterday's headline news was written by
you to protect yourself? It that true?"
"Cassie, are you really the naked woman in the pictures? How many men have you made love with?"
"Cassie, do you truly love Greg, the heir of XS Hospital? Or is he just one of your lovers?"
"You shameless bitch! Why are you still a doctor? XS Hospital should dismiss you."
"You saved my son's life, but I didn't know that you were so shameless. You are not qualified to be a
doctor or to save people's lives."
Cassie was overwhelmed by the questions thrown at her and she couldn't handle the pressure.
People's eyes and their comments made her want to die. Until this moment, she realized that it was
impossible to fight against the public opinion.
Cassie immediately regretted coming back to the hospital. She had wanted to find Greg and ask him
what the hell had happened. And she wanted to know from him why her affairs were clearly published
on the newspaper. She figured that someone might have spied on her and had gotten information
about her. But she was puzzled as to who it could be. Cassie thought to herself, 'It was impossible for
Violet to pull off something like this, because she is too weak. She couldn't even protect herself from
being hurt. And I don't believe that Greg would do this to me. I did irritate him yesterday, but he
wouldn't be so cruel to me. So then who did this to me?'
The knocking on the car windows increased and she finally opened the car door and got out.
She was planning to quickly run through the hospital gate, but the moment she stepped out of the car,
she was surrounded. She was pushed around by the crowd, and was bombarded with more questions
and insults.
"Cassie, could you please explain today's news?"
"Are you the woman in the photos? Are the pictures morphed or are they real?"
"Cassie, you bitch!"
A man from the crowd angrily threw an egg at her, which hit her in the head. The egg white dripped
down from her hair and fell to the ground and it was conspicuous in the sunshine.
"You bitch! Greg has a wife and you still flirted with him. You shameless bitch!"
"Cassie, has your mother not taught you any manners?"
"Cassie, were you flirting around when you were abroad too?"
Then a few more people threw eggs at her and it flowed down to her shoulders, and her back. But
Cassie kept her head low in silence.
She was covered by rubbish and smelled like spoiled egg all over, but the crowd didn't show her any
mercy. They continued to curse and question her.
By the time Francis reached the hospital, Cassie was surrounded completely and broken eggs were
dripping all over her body. She looked lonely, and her shoulders were shaking. She was almost in
tears.
Francis felt helpless. He stood there, looked around and felt furious. If Cassie hadn't done that silly stuff
yesterday, she wouldn't have had to go through all this.
A few seconds later, Francis walked towards Cassie through the crowd, as he took off his coat.
When he finally reached her, he used his coat to cover Cassie and held her shoulder to guide her out of
the crowd.
Cassie felt warm hands holding her protectively. She looked up and saw Francis.
A lump formed in her throat and she said,"Francis."
"Hush, don't speak," Francis said to her. His heart hurt, and inside him anger boiled. He knew that she
always did things in her own way, but she had never been treated this way before. He was afraid that
his imperious cousin would try to take vengeance on the people who had insulted her today.
They walked through the persistent crowd and Francis helped Cassie get into his car. He quickly got
into the driver's seat and drove away.
He gradually slowed down once they were out of the city.
He then stopped the car on the roadside and looked at Cassie. He looked at the egg whites on her hair ConTEent bel0ngs to Nôv(e)lD/rama(.)Org .
and tried to clean it. But before he could touch her, Cassie stopped him and said coldly,"Don't touch
me."
Francis' hand stopped mid-air and after a few seconds, he withdrew it.
Francis asked,"You knew that those journalists would be waiting for you at the hospital. Why did you
still have to go there today?" He knew that Cassie must have had a good reason. She was not stupid.
Cassie gritted her teeth and replied,"I wanted to see Greg. I wanted to ask him who wrote that news."
Francis sighed,"Does it matter who did it? You should be wondering why people are targeting you."
Cassie replied without hesitation,"It matters to me! I'll do anything to get Greg."
"But you should have understood by now that Greg and Violet are dangerous people and they are not
easy to fool. Didn't you notice it at their party?" Francis said,"The party was so luxurious and they
probably come from rich and powerful families." He had researched Greg. Even though Greg's family
only ran a hospital, they were extremely famous and had huge connections in the business world.
Cassie looked into Francis' eyes and asked,"Do you think that I'm easy to be messed with?"
