Chapter 13: Matched Her Aura
Chapter 13: Matched Her Aura
Leonard put on a calm expression and turned to look at Phoebe. I had to admit that the wedding gown NôvelDrama.Org owns this text.
looked good on her. It matched her pretentious aura well.
"Leonard, do you think this looks good on me?"
Phoebe looked at Leonard cheerily and even twirled for him to show off the gown as well as her figure.
"It's not bad," Leonard replied with a smile and a nod.
"The wedding gown is pretty nice. It's just that the person who's wearing it doesn't have the bosom to
make it look womanly enough. What a shame," I purposely said.
It was the truth, though. Phoebe's figure had always been rather stick-like. She was about the same
height as me, but there was nothing else to look at.
This was especially so for her chest. Even with a padded push-up bra, she was probably a B-cup at
most.
Phoebe looked down at her flat chest, her face turning red. Perhaps my words had hit her sore spot.
I knew that Phoebe was an intolerant woman, but she had to maintain her gentle, innocent image with
Leonard around. She would not be able to rage at me, but she would definitely remember this.
She glanced at my full chest and said lightly, "I heard that the size of a woman's bosom is actually
related to men. A woman with a huge chest has probably had many men touch her there, right?"
Thanks to my provocation, Phoebe was finally showing her claws. It was obvious that she wanted to
insinuate that I was a loose woman.
"Oh, cut the crap. If Mr. Nell doesn't mind, you can always go and get implants!" I shot Leonard a
challenging look. He had remained silent throughout our exchange.
To my surprise, Leonard did not express an opinion, nor did he stop us from quarrelling. He even
looked slightly amused.
He was a smart man, and at times, very cunning.
"Queena, I know that you bear a grudge against our family. Are you here to pick a fight?" Phoebe said
as realization finally dawned on her.
"I'm not the type to pick a fight for nothing. You guys were the ones who came at me first," I replied
matter-of-factly.
"Well, whatever it is, it should end here! Leonard and I have already settled on the 8th of next month as
our wedding date, and I really don't want to harp on about these things anymore..."
Was Phoebe telling me this to dispel my thoughts and to prevent certain things from happening?
"Wow, why the rush? Is something happening?"
I pretended to be surprised, but I could not help doing the math. The 8th of next month was only half a
month away.
Grandma was not in good shape. Were they trying to get the wedding settled before she passed away?
I did not know whether they were in such a rush because of something between them, or Bell's worries
about Grandma's illness.
After all, Leonard was not an easy catch. Bell was probably afraid that things would change if they were
dragged out.
"Queena, you're just here to cause trouble, aren't you?" Phoebe started to look impatient.
"Why are you so nervous when I was just asking? Is there really something going on?" I sneered.
This was the way I operated. Since she had provoked me, I would not allow her to leave unscathed.
"Whatever. I don't want to waste time talking to you anymore. I have some wedding gowns to try
on."
