Chapter 16 Please Don’t Blame Her

Vania’s voice trembled as she spoke, and when she hung up the phone, she felt a mixture of happiness and worry. She was happy to be able to find her child at long last after such a long time, but she was worried at the same time. Eastland was a remote part of the country in the first place, and Farville was a critically backward mountainous area.

She wondered if her child could eat well and dress in warm clothes while being stranded there. Would the family really abuse him like Melanie said? Oh, my dear boy! I’m coming to you now! After wiping her tears away, she hastily packed up her stuff and said to the nanny, “Theresa, I have to go to Eastland immediately, so I’ll leave it to you to look after our home. Just let Leo and me know if there’s anything.”

Theresa nodded. “Please rest assured, madam. I’m always here.”

Just then, the three kids gathered around them while rubbing their sleepy eyes. A worried Jack asked, “Mommy, why are you leaving in such a hurry?”

James knitted his brows in thought. “Is there news about our missing brother and sister?”Vania hugged the three of them. “That’s right. I’ve gotten news about your little brother, so I have to take a trip to Eastland, which will probably take a few days. Be sure to be good at home, or I’ll be worried.”

The three kids were both surprised and delighted to learn that there was news about their little brother. “Don’t worry, Mommy. We’ll be good at home, so please be sure to protect yourself.”

Vania replied, “Yeah, I will.” Reluctant to part with them, she hugged them one by one and kissed each of them on the forehead before leaving in a hurry while dragging her suitcase.

Meanwhile, Hanson arrived at Galaxy Corporation with Larry at the appointed time.Text content © NôvelDrama.Org.

Upon seeing the man himself, Linda, Vania’s assistant, immediately walked up to him nervously and apologetically. “Greetings, President Luke. I’m Linda Taylor, our boss’ assistant. I’m very sorry, but something very important came up this morning, and our boss is now on a flight to Eastland. Before she left, she specifically asked me to apologize to you. Also, she’ll compensate for the losses if there’s any, but the signing of the agreement may have to wait until she comes back, upon which time she’ll personally pay a visit to your company to apologize.”

Eastland? Why the sudden trip to such a faraway place? As far as I know, Galaxy Corporation has no business in Eastland. Maybe it’s not about the company. Hanson furrowed his brow. “What happened?”

Linda avoided answering the question directly, saying, “It’s our boss’ private matter, but she regards it as more important than her own life.” At this point, she felt like putting in a good word for Vania. “President Luke, I’d like to ask you not to blame her for this. It really wasn’t easy for her to make such a decision.”

When Hanson heard this, the furrows in his brow deepened, and he gave Larry a look.

Larry nodded. “It’s nothing to worry about, Miss Taylor. Since we’ve come to an agreement for the collaboration, there’s no need to hurry. And besides, Ms. Greyson has something important to deal with.”

Linda smiled. “Thank you for your understanding, Mr. Clark,” she replied. Then, seeing that Hanson was about to leave, she offered to see him and Larry off.

As they reached Galaxy Corporation’s entrance, Hanson received a text message on his cell phone. It read, ‘Devil, Vania is going to Farville, Eastland.’

Somehow, upon reading the text message, Hanson started to get worried. Farville? That’s a remote mountainous area. What kind of private matter does Vania have to deal with over there that’s more

important than her own life? What if she got herself in danger while going there alone? At the thought of all kinds of accidents that could happen, he immediately ordered, “Larry, arrange for the private jet to fly us to Eastland immediately.”
