Chapter 18
“You two just go to work, I’ll call Mr. Lyle later to ask for a few days off.” Nancy spoke up.
“It will take a whole week.” Dylan sighed, his face showing worry.
“I’ll leave the food here.” Mina said as she placed the bag on the table.
“You only have one door key?” Dylan continued to speak.
“No, I have two.” Nancy replied.
“Then let me lock the gate for you. You don’t have to go out. I’ll come back this afternoon.”
After Dylan finished speaking, he walked away very quickly. Mina also quickly followed and got into the car with him.
Through the rearview mirror, seeing Mina looking at him intently, he curled his mouth.
“What’s up?”
“Nothing, I just wonder if the president of Global Group is about to have a wife?” Mina crossed her arms and asked.
“Right.”
“Right? President, when did you know her?” She asked urgently, almost wanting to jump up.
“I’ve only known her recently, but I’ve already determined it.”
Mina couldn’t say anything more. Looks like Lyle has run out of chances. She felt bitter for her boss.
Arriving at the company, Dylan dropped Mina off in front of the gate and drove straight. A little distance away, Wynn witnessed it all.
At first, he was about to turn into the gate, but because his mother was calling, he had to stop and answer the phone.
For a long time, he had a crush on Mina, but she always saw him as a kid. The two of them met when Wynn was still studying at the Academy, at that time Mina was a colleague of Lyle, his half-brother.
The first time he saw her solemnly dressed in the company uniform, with her hair tied in a bun and her serene face following his brother home to ask for instructions on how to prepare bidding documents, he felt like he had lost his soul.
The relationship between Wynn, Lyle, and Dylan is also extremely close. Wynn and Lyle’s father is Dylan’s father’s older brother.
In the past, his grandfather entrusted the entire Southern company to Dylan’s father to manage. His father was not satisfied so he left home.
When Lyle was four years old, his mother died. The situation was difficult, but his father was determined not to go back to ask for help from his family. He sent Lyle to his grandmother to take care of him and then went abroad to make a living.
There, he met and married the daughter of a large rancher, who was Wynn’s mother, and gave birth to him.
Although Wynn’s parents wanted to take Lyle to live with them, he did not agree, so he grew up with his grandmother and his father regularly sent money to support him.
When Wynn had just graduated from middle school, his parents brought him to live with Lyle because they were afraid that the two brothers would not have feelings for each other.
Initially, upon graduating, Lyle applied to work for a large corporation. When Dylan returned to take over the company, he came to see Lyle and wanted Lyle to return with him to revive the family business.
Although Lyle had a bad impression of his father’s family, seeing his cousin return from death, he ignored everything and agreed, and Mina also followed him from there.
After Lyle’s father knew what happened to his nephew, he no longer hated Dylan and let his two sons follow each other into the Global corporation.
As soon as Dylan got home, he quickly ran straight upstairs. Camila kept looking at her son’s back. Even though his clothes were a bit wrinkled, his face still looked very happy, so she felt very reassured.
Her husband passed away when he was quite young, so she took over the family’s finances.
Many years of working in the business world have made her extremely tired. Now Dylan is running the group very well, so she knows her son is also under a lot of pressure.
If it weren’t for the Southern company’s financial difficulties, in the past she would not have let that girl leave her son.
That was Camila’s lifelong torment. She never thought that Dylan’s heart had gone with Nancy.
Seeing that her son was old but still alone every night, borrowing alcohol to forget his love, she felt extremely sad.
Dylan raised his hand to caress the bride’s face in the photo, dreaming of the day he could enter the wedding hall with her.
He hopes that she will fall in love with him in the present and become his wife. Even if she later discovered his true identity, it wouldn’t matter because they were already married.
After showering and changing clothes, he quickly returned to work at the company.
Paul has been lurking in front of the president’s office door since early morning until now. He waited for his boss like waiting for his mother to come home from the market.
Yesterday he promised Ella that he would help her ask Dylan about the Sunny House project.
She already lent the hotel to the film crew. Could it be that now she asked him for help and he didn’t help? All he has to do is ask, and the purchasing is up to his boss.
But when Dylan arrived, Paul’s mouth was still as tight as a clam shell, unable to say anything.
Seeing him sneak around all day, Dylan couldn’t help but ask first.Content from NôvelDr(a)ma.Org.
“What’s up?”
“Boss, do you have any plans for the Sunny House project?” Paul quickly asked.
“What do you think?”
“Ah, the restaurant and hotel complex in that location has great potential for exploitation, we have the advantage of the landscape.”
“Tell her I agree. But because I don’t destroy the orphanage, I want to build a road through the mountain with an overpass, across it.”
“Yes, I’ll contact her right away.” Paul happily replied and ran away.
In the deputy general manager’s office, the pile of documents gradually dwindled with Lyle’s hand movements.
Mina stood next to him, looked at him with sympathetic eyes, and suddenly sighed.
