Chapter 25 Her Biased Parents
Chapter 25 Her Biased Parents
She was angry when she talked about this matter. Yesterday, after Caleb came over for a visit, the crew
looked at her differently today. There were countless discussions about her behind her back. Some
people speculated whether William was her and Caleb's child, while others speculated that she was
Caleb's mistress, who would resort to any means to get to the top.
When she first arrived at the crew today, the people who had been discussing heatedly were instantly
silenced.
Today, she wore a purple dress and ten centimeters high heels. She was already close to 5 feet 6, and
now she looked even taller. She looked down at the two people who spoke in a very unpleasant tone,
and her eyes were full of ridicule and disdain.
"Tammy, I'll have to trouble you to make a hairstyle for me today." Eva ignored the apprentice who
usually styled her, and she was one of the two people who were just gossiping.
"Okay." Tammy was responsible for the makeup of the actresses in the crew, and there was no clear
division of labor as to who had to be responsible for whom, so she readily agreed.
Jesse, who had originally helped Eva put on makeup, had a red face, and she couldn't say anything in
front of Eva, who had a powerful aura.
Eva and Caleb had been together for such a long time. In addition, she was a talented and intelligent
actress. She had learned a hundred percent of Caleb's domineering aura from inside out. It was easy
for her to scare these makeup artists.
Because of this small episode, the voices of people discussing became much smaller, but they would
still quietly discuss.
While Eva was resting with her eyes closed for a while, the phone rang again, as if that person would
keep calling if she did not answer.
"Eva, sometimes escaping is not a good way," Gemma said.
Gemma looked young. But in fact, she had been married to Sam for two years. She was five years
older than Eva. However, the role of Princess Jayde that Eva played was a mature and graceful
character. In the crew, she would unconsciously put herself into her character's shoes to make it easier
for her to get in the mood while filming. Coupled with her more mature makeup, it gave people a feeling
that Gemma was younger than her.
"Gemma, Things are very complicated between adults," Eva said with a smile.
"I am older than you!" Gemma immediately jumped up and retorted.
"I don't believe you."
"Let me show you my ID card!" Gemma wanted to prove herself, so she took out her ID card and
showed it to Eva on the spot.
"Oh, that's true. Then I'll call you little sister." Eva had been chatting and joking with Gemma all the
time, and she had no intention of answering the phone at all.
She waited until the phone rang for the fifth time before she slowly swiped the screen to answer it.
"Eva!" Penelope's sharp and piercing voice rang out.
Eva quietly stood up and lowered the volume of her phone. She went to the empty lounge to answer
the phone.
"What is it?" Eva replied indifferently.
After being hung up four times, Penelope was already angry. "What is it? How dare you ask me! Tell
me, are your father and I not good enough for you? Since you've been back, we've given you money
when you want it. When you said you wanted to go abroad, we supported you to go. Are you that
intolerant of your sister?"
"When have I ever been unable to tolerate your baby? If I tell others that I am your biological child and
she is not, it will probably make others laugh their heads off." Eva retorted back.
"What are others laughing at? Sheila is so obedient. Anyone will like her." Penelope said matter-of-
factly.
Eva felt a sharp pain in her heart. Even though she always knew that her parents were biased towards
Sheila, she still felt a faint pain in her heart every time she was hurt like this by them.
Eva laughed at herself. She thought that after what happened five years ago, she would become
strangers to Morgan and the others. However, she still overestimated herself. Blood relations could not
be broken easily. The bond of blood made her unable to harden her heart completely. That was why
she let them humiliate her again and again with words and actions.
"If you want to talk to me about how your precious daughter is so lovable, I think you made the wrong
call. I have nothing to talk to you about. It's time for filming. I'm hanging up." Eva said without a trace of
emotion.
If Penelope could see her face at this time, she would be frightened by the gloom in her eyes.
"Wait a minute. You are really a child who grew up in a village. You are so rude." Penelope cursed
again, and before Eva could not bear it anymore and hung up the phone, she finally got to the point.
"Go home tonight. If you dare not come back, I will freeze your bank card."
"Ms. Gordon, you haven't woken up yet. I don't need the bank card you gave me." Eva sneered.
Penelope choked for a moment and then said unreasonably, "I don't care. You have to come back
tonight. Otherwise, I will go to your crew to find you tomorrow. I want to see if you can continue filming.
You have a good job but you have to be an actor. It is really embarrassing."
Eva laughed in anger, "Ms. Gordon, your precious daughter is in the same profession as me."
"That is different," Penelope continued to be unreasonable.
"Alright, I will go home tonight. I'm hanging up." Eva did not want to waste any more time. Moreover,
she knew that if she did not agree to go home, Penelope would continue to harass her until she
agreed.
Since she missed her so much and wanted her to go home, then she would do as she wished.
In the seven years that she had been back in the Sommers family, she had long been used to seeing
them fall out faster than flipping through books. Although she could not understand why she was the
biological daughter that had been lost for many years, in the eyes of Penelope and the others, she was
not even as good as the adopted daughter. She had already passed the age of hope and love. Morgan
and Penelope had long ago not carried so much weight in her heart.
Instead of being harassed by Penelope, it was better for her to go see what kind of trick they were
going to play.
"Eva, hurry up. It's your turn." The assistant director shouted frantically with a loudspeaker.
Eva put down her phone and ran over.
"I'm sorry." Eva humbly apologized to the crew.
"Hurry up and shoot. Don't mess around." Mel seemed to have eaten a firecracker.
During the filming period, Eva also sent a message to Caleb, telling him to inform the driver not to pick
her up. She was going to Morgan's place today.
"I'll be back tonight." Caleb replied very quickly. Content protected by Nôv/el(D)rama.Org.
"Not necessarily. It depends on the situation."
Caleb directly called her. "Come back tonight. The driver will pick you up."
"I'm not sure what time it will end," Eva explained.
"Liam will wait for you." Then he hung up the phone.
Eva looked at the phone that had been hung up and rolled her eyes.
He never listened to her explanations.
