Luna Of The 20
"WHAT'S WRONG?" Portia's voice startled Helga awake from her trance. She blinked a few times, taking in her reflection in the mirror before turning to face the beta female who was brushling her hair. Helga had insisted that she could do it herself, but Portia insisted on helping with preparations for her breakfast with the Alpha King. "Are you feeling any discomfort? Should I summon the physician?" "No. I'm fine." Helga smiled lightly and turned her focus back to the front. "I just couldn't get my head around everything that had happened"
"Ah, is this about the wedding?" Portia asked, skillfully braiding their future Luna's hair while Helga sat in front of the vanity mirror. Despite her injuries sustained during her time in the Arlin Woods, the physician declared that she was recovering at a miraculously fast rate. This progress had Helga's mind racing with thoughts and plans for their upcoming wedding preparations.. That's right. Was Was there a particular reason why the Alp Alpha

Helga couldn't control the involuntary flinch that rippled through her body upon hearing those words. Her mind raced as she remembered what Ezra had told her about the royal pack's deep, dark secret, causing a lump to form in her throat. Maybe, just maybe, it wasn't all nonsense like she originally thought. The mere thought sent shivers down her spine anda rush of adrenaline flooded her system. She desperately wanted to deny the pe ty, and a small voice inside urged her investigate further until she had concrete evidence to confirm it. "Is it related to the curse?" Helga asked, prompting Portia to nod in confirmation. She realized there was no point in hiding it from her, Helga had a right to know, especially since she was about to marry the Alpha King and would soon become privy to all of their secrets. "I understand you have many questions, but the answer should not come from me or anyone else." Portia continued to work on Helga's hair as she spoke, her hand moving deftly through the strands. "Only the Alpha King has the right to disclose information about his "I see." Helga simply nodded, unsure of how to process the entire situation.

"Did you perhaps hear a rumor about the Alpha King?" Portia wondered because she clearly saw Helga flinched when she mentioned about the full moon earlier. "Ezra told me that the previous candidates of Luna selection didn't kill themselves." Helga admitted, "He said that the Alpha King killed them during their first full moon while residing in the palace." believe in him?"

"Do you "No, I don't but after you mentioned the reason why the Alpha King wanted to hold the wedding before the full moon, it made me question the validity of Ezra's claim," Helga answered truthfully, causing Portia to purse her lips in thought. 's a lie," "she sighed, fully aware of the existence of the ridiculous rumor The Alpha King never harmed the previous candidates, he might have treated them coldly, but he never once laid a hand on them. "Besides, why would the Alpha King kill his potential mate and Luna when he needed them? I mean, what's the point of Luna selection if he just gets rid of the chosen candidate? That doesn't make sense at all, don't you think?" Portia added, and Helga nodded, realizing Portia had a valid point. "I know something isn't quite adding up, but I can't help but have some doubts since I don't know much about the Alpha King and his royal pack yet," she said quietly. "But I'll make sure to discover everything eventually." 13:52 Wed, Oct 16 B. Chapter 201This belongs © NôvelDra/ma.Org.

Helga arrived at the dining hall not long after and was surprised see that the Alplsa King was alrearly seated. As she entered, the servants greeted her warmly and an unfamiliar mai pulled out a chair for her. Helga assumed he must be the butler of the palace and thanked him before taking a seat. "Good morning. Alpha King" she greeted with a respectful nod, Siegren acknowledged her with a nod before dismissing the servants. As they were left alone, he took a sip of water from his glass before addressing her. "Let's eat first, we can't have your stomach growling during our meeting like last time."
A slight blush crept up Helga's cheeks as she reminisced on the first time she had breakfast with the Alpha King. She couldn't believe he was bringing it up now, knowing how embarrassed she had been. But she pushed aside her shyness and took a bite of her food. They ate in silence before the Alpha King finally broke the stillness with his words. "What exactly happened inside the Ardan Woods? Why were the bandits there? Did you come across them by accident?" he asked, putting down his utensils and dabbing his mouth with a napkin. Helga was taken aback by the barrage of questions he threw at her, but she understood that the involvement of bandit during her test had left him confused. "They appeared out of nowhere.. But it was no coincidence. Someone paid them to get rid of me, they said it themselves," she revealed, prompting Siegren to furrow his brow in puzzlement. He leaned in closer, eager to hear the details of her encounter with the bandits during her trial [ "Do you kno know werd, which raised suspicions for him.
"There's only one person who wanted me dead, Your Majesty." she simply answered, and Siegren didn't need to ask who she was referring to. He leaned back in his chair and drummed his fingers on the table as he considered whether to press Helga further regarding her experience during t her trial period.
u're talking about Miranda Amod, do you not have any desire for revenge?" he asked, his curiosity piqued.

If you to uld too severe, and that's already "I won't waste my time on that, Your Majesty. The karma she would soon fac sufficient for my satisfaction." Helga declared, closing any possibility of further discussion on the matter. "As soon as karma gives her what she deserves, I will lock her up in the dungeon," Siegren's statement made her eyes widen. but when she realized why he said that, she couldn't help but still ask for confirmation. "Is it because of her involvement in the warlock?" "I need her to be able to locate the warlock. That wench may not hold the key to the Incarnadine's prophecy, but she is crucial in identifying all individuals with dark magic within this nation. I must eliminate every last one of them." Siegre explained, his voice cold yet resolute.. "And what would happen with Miranda after?" Helga asked though she was already aware of the fate that awaited her once she served her purpose in this country. It was a harsh reality, but Helga had seen firsthand how people discarded others once they were no longer useful. She couldn't blame the Alpha King for potentially getting rid of Miranda, but it also made her realize that she could suffer the same fate if she became useless, "Pardone." Helga's eyes flickered twice in confusion, questioning if she had heard him correctly.

"I will leave her fate to you. It's your choice whether to condemn her to death or keep her locked in the dungeon for eternity," he elaborated, his intense stare bore into hers, but Helga couldn't decipher his thoughts. And then, before she could control herself, a question that she hadn't planned on asking slipped out of her mouth.
"Then what about me, Your Majesty? Would you get rid of me once I no longer serve a purpose?" Helga's words lingered in the air, filled with an underlying fear. She refused to look away from the Alpha King, daring him to answer her question Sjegren leaned back in his chair before finally getting up and approaching her. He then grabbed her wrist and pulled her to hef feet, their faces only inches apart as he searched her eyes intently.

"I" she trailed off, not wanting to confess that she wasn't entirely sure. She bit her lip and stared at him, their close distance making her nervous. "No, that's not what I meant. I apologize if offended you. I'm just asking so I can do my best to be useful as much as possible because I don't want to be abandoned again."
Helga wasn't certain, but she sensed the Alpha King's intense gaze softened and his grip on her wrist became gentler. The silence between them was thick with tension and neither of them dared to make any sudden movements as they both stared at each other. After what felt like an eternity. Sicgren let out a deep breath and slowly released her wrist. "You don't need to worry about that. Though I may not always treat you with kindness and may even push you away at times, I will never abandon you." Siegren assured, causing Helga's heart to skip a beat, "I have chosen you to be my mate and Luna. I will never abandon what is rightfully mine."
