Married At First Glance: I Am Not Ugly

The Wedding

“Thank you, Sarah. Your assistance is much appreciated,” he said with a hint of gratitude in his tone.

Sarah smiled and walked out of his office happy for the new change she had begun to see in her boss.

Sarah promptly got to work, handling Alexander’s requests with efficiency and professionalism. She rescheduled the meeting for 3 pm to the following day and contacted the company to arrange an appointment for the upcoming contract signing.

As she carried out her tasks, she couldn’t help but wonder about the recent changes in her boss’s behavior.

It was a welcome surprise, and she hoped it indicated a positive shift in their working relationship.

She kept her focus on her responsibilities, aiming to make sure everything went smoothly as Alexander prepared for the contract signing and the upcoming wedding at the mansion.

When it was 1pm, Alexander received a call that his suit was ready for pick up.

“Finally, my suit’s ready. Let’s go pick it up, Anderson.”

“Sure, lead the way.” Anderson said, gesturing for Alex to lead the way.

They both walk out of the office and make their way to the tailor’s shop.

“I hope it fits perfectly. This wedding is an important step for the business.”

“I’m sure it will. You’ve got everything planned out, and the company is set to benefit from this contract.”

“I hope so. And maybe this whole fake marriage ordeal will turn out better than expected.” Alexander said.

As they got there, they were greeted warmly and Alexander was taken to the fitness room to check out his suit.

“I’ll wait here for you while you do your thing dude.” Anderson said, as he sat down and asked for them to serve him coffee.

“Thanks, Anderson. I’ll be quick.”

Alexander went into the fitting room to try on the suit. The tailor made some minor adjustments to ensure it fit perfectly.

As he came out, Alexander felt satisfied with the way the suit looked and felt.

“It fits great, just as I wanted it to.”

“You look sharp, my friend.” Anderson complimented. “Yeah… like someone who’s actually getting married for real.”

“Hahaha very funny Anderson.” He looked at Anderson with a furrowed expression while still adjusting his suit and staring at the mirror.

“Let’s head to the mansion before 4pm to set up. But let me call Marissa to know if she’s getting ready.” He picked up his phone that was on the table and dialed Marissa’s number.

It rang a few times before she answered.

“Hello?” Marissa answered.

“Hey, Marissa. I just wanted to check if you’re getting ready for the event at the mansion. We’ll be heading there before 4 pm to set up.”

“Yes, I’m getting ready. I’ll make sure everything is in order for the event.” she said.

“Great. My driver will come to pick you up at home and take you there.” he informed her.

“Okay, that’s no problem.”

“Well…. um… See you there then.” he said and ended the call.

Anderson, who was looking at Alex in a weird way, suddenly smiled.

“Why are you smiling Anderson? Because I’m sure I didn’t say anything funny.”

“Nothing….. just that you actually look like someone that’s getting married and honestly, it suits you.” Anderson said.

“Very funny, Anderson.”

Anderson chuckled.

“Well, you never know, Alexander. This fake wedding might turn out to be more real than we expected.”

Alexander couldn’t help but smirk at the thought as they continued on their way to the mansion, ready to set up for the event.

As they drove to the mansion, Alexander thought about the fake wedding and how it had become more complicated. He couldn’t predict what would happen next.

He was curious about the event and what might occur between him and Marissa.

Upon reaching the mansion, Alexander and Anderson got ready to set up for the event, not knowing what surprises and difficulties lay ahead.

Marissa left the hospital and returned home to pick her dress and every other things she would need for the wedding.

The doorbell rang and she went out of her room to check and realized that it was the driver.

She opened the door.

“Sorry Ma’am, but Mr. Alexander told me to come pick you up.” he said with a smile.

“And also thank you for the breakfast this morning. I really enjoyed it.”

“Oh… it was nothing. I just wanted to make sure that you had something to eat as well since I’m sure you didn’t have breakfast before you came today.” she said.

The driver nodded appreciatively. “It was a pleasant surprise. You’ve been really kind, Mrs. Alexander.”

Marissa chuckled, correcting him gently,

“Oh, I’m not Mrs. Alexander. We’re just business partners.”

The driver looked a bit puzzled but didn’t press the matter.NôvelDrama.Org owns this text.

“I see, my apologies, ma’am. Let’s get going to the mansion, shall we?”

Marissa agreed, ready to head to the event and do her part to make sure everything went smoothly, as she didn’t want to disappoint Alexander or her brother.

Marissa arrived at the mansion for the event, where people were busy setting up decorations and making sure everything was perfect. She felt a mix of nervousness and determination.

Approaching Alexander and Anderson, she greeted them with a smile.

“I’m here and ready to help.”

Alexander smiled back, excited about the event.

“Great to have you, Marissa. Let’s make this look as real as possible.”

“Mmm-mm.” she nodded.

Alexander signaled some ladies to come. As they approached, Alexander turned and faced Marissa.

“Um.. they will fix you up nicely and prepare you for the wedding…so follow them.”

Marissa nodded and followed the ladies to a private room. They helped her with her bags.

The ladies led Marissa to a private room where they began to help her prepare for the wedding. They adjusted her dress and hair, adding the final touches to ensure she looked the part.

Meanwhile, Alexander and Anderson continued to oversee the event’s preparations.

They wanted everything to go smoothly, as the success of their business deal depended on it.

“I think everything is all set!” Alex said.
