Chapter 19
Chapter 19
Despite her wooziness, Lianne got her act together following Zane’s question. “Don’t worry, Mr. Atlas. It
won’t get in the way of my work.” This is property © NôvelDrama.Org.
Brushing Lianne aside, Zane entered the MPV that would take them to the developed scenic spot.
The chauffeur and Willow were there to pick Zane and his entourage up, so there were five of them in
the
car.
Sitting next to Zane, Willow walked the boss through the situation at the development during the car
ride. Lianne and Liam sat in the backseat together and were on their laptops, taking minutes of the
conversation
Willow made full use of the hour or so ride, so Lianne and Liam took the same amount of time to take
down the notes. It was dark out by the time they arrived at the developed area.
Dinner was on the company’s account, but since Lianne did not feel well and had no appetite, she
proceeded to check into her hotel room.
The hotel under the Atlas Group was well-equipped with facilities, including oxygen supply in individual
rooms.
What were the chances of a hotel having such resources in the middle of nowhere?
Lianne did not utilize the oxygen supply in case her over-reliance on ventilation would hinder her from
working outdoors.
She quickly washed up and changed into her pajamas before slipping under the sheets for a rest.
Lianne finally fell asleep when her buzzing phone woke her up.
It was Mr. Cash calling, and he did not sound too happy. “Ms. Simpson, it’s past eight o’clock. Why
aren’t you here yet?”
It then occurred to Lianne that she was supposed to meet with the attorney today. Nevertheless, she
was in the highland region of Weston, miles away from Rosewood. There was no way she could get
back in time. Tm sorry I’ll be busy in the next few days, so I can’t make time to see you.”
Mr. Cash asked, “When can you meet with me? Can you give me a concrete time?”
It was up to Zane to decide the length of stay of the ad-hoc itinerary.
Lianne was unsure when she would be back. “I’ll call you when my schedule frees up, Mr. Cash.”
It was Mr. Cash’s job on the line if Zane blew up over his failure of getting Lianne to sign the divorce
papers.
Mr. Cash angrily questioned. “Are you sure you don’t have the time? Or are you trying to back out of
getting a divorce?”
Lianne was not in the mood to dwell on the subject due to her splitting headache. She terminated the
call, turned off the phone, and got ready for bed, hoping she would adapt to the highland climate by the
time she got up in the morning.
The doorbell rang the minute she closed her eyes.
Lianne was lost for words.
Could she ever catch a break?
Annoyed, Lianne got out of bed to open the door. The door opened to Willow standing outside with a
smile. “Lianne, I see you’re not doing well with the high altitude, so I brought you a little something.”
Not wanting to be rude, Lianne accepted the medicine. “Thank you, Ms. Spencer.”
Willow looked at Lianne, having no intention of leaving yet. “Can I go inside and have a talk with you?”
Although Lianne was tempted to say no, she invited the woman into her room. “What’s on your mind,
Ms. Spencer?”
Willow sized Lianne up “Do you know that Mr. Atlas is married?”
Lianne nodded, “I do.”
Willow added. “You should mind your behavior then. Don’t drive a rift between Mr. Atlas and his wife.”
Lianne raised her brow in displeasure. “Ms. Spencer, have I carried myself inappropriately?”
