Mate to a king

Chapter 1

Chapter 1

-Bloom-

“Please! No, No, No! Please stop Aiden!" I pleaded, enduring whack after whack that would surely leave scars on my bare back, with a whip studded with silver spikes and laced with poison.

I should probably explain shouldn't I? Well, good news and bad news, I will start with the good news first, as I suppose that’s what you want to hear. I managed to find my mate a couple of months ago when I was at the farthest shopping centre from my home, having gone with my sister to prepare for the annual summer bonfire. The summer bonfire was tradition within my pack to keep so-called ancestor spirits at peace, whilst those of us alive danced and drank the night away. Eating our body weight and more in cake and sweet desserts that the local bakers prepared in the days prior, keeping watch as the flames crackled and shine around us.

It was during our rest-stop inside a small, dainty little cafe that I came across him, sitting in the corner, nursing a small mug of coffee and a tatty book sat upon the wooden table.

We kept meeting up a few days after, He acted like such a sweetheart, buying me expensive things, taking me to posh dinners at restaurants, until the day he asked me to move in with him. Of course I agreed to, without prior knowledge of the reality I would face.

Little did I know that my life would be destroyed from there on forwards. My freedom ripped from my clutches before my very eyes.

From the day I moved in, he started to become an abusive mate, I guess like those cliché abusers you find in books, of course he was, he read enough of them from what I could see of the library he kept.

He left me in a basement, all the food I was given was a glass of mushed up peas, I don’t even like peas, that had to last a week. As you can imagine, they gradually began to stink about half-way through said week. Rotten. Revolting.

My throat was always scratchy from the lack of water he graciously provided for me.

I didn’t even have access to a mirror, or anyway to clean myself up, hygiene being incredibly minimal that I’m surprised I didn’t contract cholera or something of the sort.

There was no making me cook and clean for the whole pack, I was indeed his personal slave. Cooking and cleaning for him and him alone. His highness. Everything all about him, Aiden this and Aiden that.

He raped me before he stabbed into my stomach and killed any chance of a life inside of me, literally and mentally.

Beat me every day at least ten times a day, sometimes with a wolfs-bane infused and silver studded whip. Of course the silver was bust out.

Left to sleep on the stone floor, no mattress, pillow or blanket. Which is not as comfortable as some people want to believe and fool themselves into saying it is. The only clothes I was allowed were old, tattered clothes that got covered all over in my thick, sticky blood.

This was a consequence of, even with all this torture, not allowing him to mark me.

~ two days later ~

"No..no no no!!!" I screamed as I watched all my best friends being slaughtered in front of my eyes, the extreme outcome from refusing Aiden one too many times. It did not give him the right to attack innocent people. When was that ever going to happen?

Like a mantra in my mind, I repeated to never trust another soul again.

He had decided to ambush my pack, the moonlight howlers pack, in an attempt to persuade my acceptance of him, showing dominance through violence.

Growling at the thought of me being by his side as the new Luna of his pack had me rushing in the opposite direction from the massacre, sue me for being a coward.

I was supposed to be the person he didn't abuse, the one he cherished, only because we are supposedly cherish mates. Cherish mates are supposed to share a stronger bond than any, in the same way a dog bonded extremely close with its owner.

No way on the Goddesses Earth would I cherish him after what he has done. Just looking at him had made me howl in pain, frustration and anger.

Who knew he would stoop this low to force me to let him mark me.

Well, He thought wrong about this he will not get to mark me. I knew what I had to do.

I saw my mate approach me. I knew she would come around eventually.

"Hey there baby, I see you made up your mind then." I smirked as she stormed her way over, her long mousy hair billowing behind her, the blood matted in the layers really making a statement.

“Don't you dare ever baby me!" she growled aggressively, "I, Bloom Marie Black, hereby reject you, Aiden Summers, as my mate and my position as Luna!"

Oh she definitely had it coming to her.

No one rejects me and gets away with it.

How did I get so distracted, enough to loose concentration?

"Get her!" I screamed at the top of my lungs, witnessing as a hoard of my men lunged on all fours towards her body.

She swiftly sidestepped the incoming forces as she shifted and sprinted towards the mass of trees.

I had a plan to get her to reverse the rejection, but I just needed her to be kept away in my basement for a few days, maybe limit the food and water a little more, and I knew just how to get her there!

If she didn’t come back willingly well, then there would have to be consequences. It can't be killing her parents or her siblings because, well they are already dead no thanks to my killing spree. Now, a new plan was to be formed.

How to really get back at her? My best option would be to murder her, but then I’d be left without a mate and my wife. She took things way to seriously and to an extreme to. I just treated her like a normal mate should be treated. To do their job as they are expected to do when they become a Luna in my pack.

Ask anyone and they’ll agree with me no doubt about that.

I gave her all this stuff. All my love and time. Which is very small because of all my duties. What more could she want?
