Mated In Chaos: The Broken Mate

Chapter 17

Zuriel

I am standing in the driveway, waiting for my fiancé. He’s late. So rude. I see him pull in. He’s driving an impressive black sports car. I don’t move back even as he gets closer. He stops just in front of my legs. I cross my arms and glare at him with cold eyes, showing him how angry I am because he is late and does not communicate.

Zuriel doesn’t leave his car. He’s watching me too… Bored. I huff and go to the passenger seat. I open the door and shut it.

‘Morning,’ he says curtly.

‘You’re late.’

‘My bad,’

I grit my teeth and ball my hands in a fist.

‘Apologise for being late. Have you no manners?’ I sneer.

‘It’s not my fault, I forgot,’ he answers.

‘Screw you,’ I murmured, looking out the window. In the corner of my eye, I see him smirk.

‘You might soon,’ he murmured, driving. I gasp and stare at him. He looks straight ahead to the road. I inspect the car. It’s even better inside. I wonder if he made this. His company was the best at manufacturing sports cars. The silence was getting awkward, and I hastily pulled a phone from my bag.

‘Um, Mom says we should get to know each other in case we are asked some questions. I prepared some questions,’ I mumble.

‘Uhuh,’

‘Um, how old are you?’ I ask. I already knew it. He’s turning 28 this year on September, 21.

’28 this year, and you?’

‘I turned 19,’ I say.

‘When?’

‘February 20th,’ I answered.

‘Favorite food?’

‘umh. Grilled steak?’ he asked as I questioned. I nodded.

‘I like pasta,’ I say, ‘ I can make it well,’

He only nods. I wanted to tell him that I would cook for him, but I didn’t. He might be rude to it.

‘I know about your work already. Um. I’m pursuing a degree in design and marketing. I’m in my third year,’

‘My best friends are Brandon and Solena. Do you have any friends?’

‘No,’

‘That’s heartbreaking,’ it was sad that he didn’t have one friend. I couldn’t imagine life without any of my friends.

‘What’s your wolf’s name?’ I ask. He stays silent for a moment before he answers.

‘Riel,’ A smile curled on my lips. His wolf’s name is beautiful. I bet he is as powerful as he is from the aura that exudes from him.

‘I like it,’ I say,

‘What’s her name?’ I know he means my wolf.

‘Ara,’

‘Ara,’ he repeats silently. My wolf purrs when he recites her name and jumps forward in excitement. Zuriel turns his gaze to me and for the first time,

‘Hello, Ara,’ he says, and I realize it’s not him who speaks but his powerful wolf.

Zuriel

‘Hello, Ara,’ My wolf leaps forward after he senses Ara take over the little princess’ wolf. Riel has never been so excited about meeting another wolf as he is now. Her wolf has beautiful gold eyes that sparkle with green and has a bright personality.

‘Just like her human,’ Riel says. I glance at the little princess. She is having an internal argument with her wolf.

Our wolves are now locked away. She continues the questions, but all I can focus on is her scent which is driving me crazy in the wildest way. She has always been so intoxicating, but now it’s different, knowing that she’s mine.Belongs to (N)ôvel/Drama.Org.

‘I don’t know if I should ask,’ she sounds hesitant to ask her next question,

‘Don’t,’ I feel like I know what’s coming. She wants to know why it’s just my mother and I. I don’t want to lie to her or talk about it. She obliges and purses her lips.

A few minutes later, we arrived at the shopping mall. She is a little dull. I park my car, and she’s the first to get out. I follow her as she looks for the perfect dress for tomorrow’s engagement party. The princess is indecisive, and we’ve been to many stores already. She manages to pick out a few, but ‘ Not the one’ in her words to the store assistants.

‘Let’s go there,’ she points at the store on another floor. I carry her bags.

As we walk, I notice lustful stares on her. Who wouldn’t? She’s wearing a short black dress that leaves her long legs exposed to the eyes. Her luscious hair is tight in a ponytail, leaving her neck bare and begging to be marked. I shake my head, removing the thoughts from my head. It must be my wolf doing all this, not me, and I can’t deny my dragon side finds the little princess fascinating. He’s calm around her.

Some are smiling at pulling out their phones to take pictures secretly. It seems the little princess is popular.

‘She’s so hot,’ I hear a man whisper. My hearing was better than any wolf, so I often picked up things. That’s why I was accustomed to shutting the world out. I grab her waist and pull her to me. I don’t want men’s lustful gaze on her. I have a prime urge to let them know she belongs to me now, and if they dare look at her a certain way, I’ll kill them without flinching.

I watch as she picks out the designer clothes while I sit, and wait patiently.

‘Try them on, Princess,’ A sales assistant says. She reluctantly goes to the changing room. Her eyes meet mine. She wants to know if it’s alright to stay longer as she changes. I nod, and she goes into the changing closet.

A moment later, she emerges from the changing room in a beautiful gown, and my breath ceases for a second. Princess Elara is so breathtaking.

‘They insist I show you,’ her face turns red as she speaks. She is nervous.

‘Her shyness is cute,’

I nod towards her in approval of the dress she shows me, and she walks away.

Next. Rings. I texted Bruce about that, and he was happy to help me. We were going to the best jewelry designer. She is our Client’s wife. They have already selected a few, so the princess will just have to choose which one she likes the one she likes.
