CHAPTER TWENTY SEVEN
Diliuni was silent throughout the last night. I didn’t hear the sound of birds chirping at all, not even a single bird was around the seashore.
I rested my head by a rockside, awaiting Diana to appear any time. She earlier told me she didn’t want to visit Diliuni for a while, but no explanation was made on what made her say that.
“I wish I just saw one of the people living here.” I expressed to myself, slurring thereafter, as though I was seeing someone to talk to.
None of the inhabitants of the seashore were outside. They all were still in the cave, perhaps for fear of any danger arising on them.
“Hello, Herdy!” Diana called me, from a distance. I couldn’t trace her, but I heard her voice.
In a jiffy, the ground began to split out sand and dust. I didn’t even know what brought me up suddenly and dropped me on the top of the cave.
Next, I began to hear shots of gun, as arrows dropped unexpectedly and repeatedly around the cave. It wasn’t dark yet, so I couldn’t turn into the dark Alpha that I was.
Diana moved near, calling me to come over. “Herdy, can we leave here together?”
“Why did you say that?”
“How would we just leave the dream land of our conquest?” I questioned her, frowning my face as I shuffled around the top of the cave. Diana was also crawling away to escape the fiery arrows and bullets. “This is Diliuni, our place!”
“Don’t you realise we are running from the shots and all?” Diana asked in return, her face blushing. She continued, “I think we need to be strong again to defeat this strange war. We are not seeing those who are making war against us, and I don’t know why.”This belongs to NôvelDrama.Org.
“Perhaps it is because of the way we feel about it.” I explained, whispering to her ears. “And also, this is sudden.”
“So, what’s the solution?” I questioned her, waiting for her to respond quickly.
“Let’s return to the house and make love together.” Diana replied, grabbing me by the shoulders, her eyes captivating and showing that she had missed her affection for me. “I am craving for such a feeling around me.”
I dropped her hands off my arm gently, “I heard you say what?… erm but, dear… it is not time for love, now. Let us save our people.”
“They are in the cave, already.” Diana chattered, grabbing me to another side as we escaped another fiery arrow. The cave wasn’t open, because it had been blocked with a very strong stone rolled against it. The gunshots being hurled at it didn’t affect it in any way.
“In the cave?” I asked back, my mind being embittered by what Diana said. I grinned, knowing that I just had to follow her around the top of the cave as we cringed, trying to prevent our bodies from being hurt.
“You can see they are targeting us, and not our people downstairs.” Diana explained, as she carried me away towards the end of the cave, dropping together downwards.
It was a deep ground we landed on. I looked at her and she did the same. Diana appeared weak, but I knew she wasn’t. At least, she was a woman. If I disagreed with her, I might suddenly grow wild and begin to fight her.
“I wonder why these enemies would be trying to focus their attention on us…” I grumbled, glancing at her repeatedly.
“No worries, we can come back here, later.” Diana suggested, shrugging as if she didn’t care. She realised her gesture could mean that to me, so she explained her mind. “I guess you should know we are strong…”
“Err…” I slurred.
“We are mated.” Diana said, winking her eyes at me.
“Hmm, strong mates.” I chuckled, assenting to her comforting statement a little bit.
“Are you sure they won’t be able to open that door?” I asked Diana, my eyes blinking up and down as though I was that affrighted by what could happen to the Diliunis, who were sleeping in the cave.
“They can’t!” Diana exclaimed, her face glistening with a strange courage and hope that I didn’t expect.
Diana peeped around the rocky sides of the ground we reached. She spread her palm to me in order to receive the same handshake from me. I didn’t know what that meant.
As I placed my palm on hers, we flew up and were fast spreading over the air without any wing. I was a bit shocked, that I had to ask her. “Is it Chincoro we are heading to?”
“Erm, not really.” Diana replied, her head moving side to side. “If this people are not willing to stop their attacks, we might just have to remain on the Chincoro clouds.”
“Hmm…” I said, not knowing what to tell her next. My mind was wandering here and there, because I didn’t have any power then to shapeshift.
“Perhaps you would have shifted into the beast that is in you…” Diana whimpered jokingly.
“Oh, you actually said what I had in my mind.” I reverted, as we both smiled together.
