Mission: From Divorcee to Millionaire

Chapter 759

She had no clue how captivating she looked in that dress.

Everett felt like his mind was spinning, matching the dizzying shade of green she wore.

He got more intense, and with their power imbalance, Selena couldn't stand up to him. She found herself backing down, overwhelmed by his commanding

presence.

"Everett, stop!"

Even though she couldn't shove him away, Selena held her ground. Her heart just wouldn't give in.

Everett's eyes were dark and intense as he caught his breath, tilting his head slightly to meet her gaze.

Her face was flushed, her breath came in quick, shallow gasps. The gentle rise and fall of her chest, the soft pink hue on her pale skin, all gave away that she was feeling it too.

Everett nibbled on Selena's ear, his voice thick with desire. "Selena, I can't believe you've really moved on from me."

"We have something special. You feel it too, so why fight it?"

Tears blurred Selena's vision, making the handsome face above her swim in and out of focus.

If all she wanted was just the thrill of physical closeness, he'd be the perfect choice.

But she craved more than just the physical.

He seemed unable to truly connect with her on a deeper level.

In that moment, she longed for the Everett from before the surgery.

She stopped resisting, lying quietly, obediently, as tears fell like scattered pearls. Everett suddenly froze.

He was caught up in the moment, but her streaming tears put out all his fire.

Frustrated beyond words, he stared down at her. "Selena, you're really my kryptonite!"

Even with their fading feelings, he couldn't stand to see her cry.

"Stop crying!"

Annoyed, he tried to wipe her tears, but they only kept coming. Eventually, he gave up and pulled her into his arms, trying to comfort her.

"Selena, stop crying. I won't touch you. I'll just hold you while we sleep, okay?"

Selena was about to resist.

Everett warned quietly, "Don't move! If you keep moving, I can't make any promises!"

Selena, eyes misty with tears, looked

at him. Whether it was from crying

or the alcohol catching up with her, she slowly drifted off in his embrace.

Late at night, Levi helped a tipsy Abraham into the car.

Abraham leaned back in the leather seat, pretending to nap.

Levi glanced at him in the rearview mirror and asked softly, "Mr. Abraham, where would you like to spend the night?"

Abraham had been living apart from his wife for quite some time and had a handful of lovers.noveldrama

He was usually clear-headed and decisive, but tonight he stayed silent for a long while.

Levi figured it was the alcohol

slowing down his response, so he suggested, "Mr. Abraham, how about heading over to Mallie's? It's

been awhile since you've visited her,

and she mentioned missing you the other day."

Abraham looked up suddenly, giving him a cool glance. "What's Mallie done to earn such a loyal fan in you?"

Levi's heart skipped a beat, and he forced a smile. "Nothing, sir. It's just that Mallie's place is close by, and you've got an important meeting tomorrow. A good night's rest will help you prepare."

He lowered his voice, suggesting, "Plus, Mallie does look a bit like Ms. Selena, don't you think?"

Abraham's dark eyes flickered over him again, but this time, he stayed silent.

After a moment, he said, "Alright, let's head to Mallie's."

...

The next morning.

Joy drove over to Lakeside Mansion, happily carrying a homemade cake as she walked through the door.
