Mr Grant, Please Be Gentle

Chapter 12 Blanca Was Not A Pushover

There was breakfast on the table.

Looking at the scramble egg on the plate, Blanca’s eyes got wet and she had the urge to cry.

Ever since the grandma who adopted her passed away, nobody cooked her breakfast. She didn’t expect that this man would be so nice to her.

She finished the breakfast graciously this afternoon.

Thinking of meeting Matthew’s grandpa and parents, Blanca was worried. Matthew alone was difficult to handle and she didn’t know what his family was like.Content rights belong to NôvelDrama.Org.

Especially when she was requested to get dressed and look nice, Blanca didn’t know what to do.

She opened her leather suitcase. She only owned some pairs of jeans, T-shirts and sweaters and they were all quite cheap.

She pulled out her phone to check his account balance. She sighed and felt regretful that she tore up the check Matthew gave her.

Finally, Blanca decided to buy herself an outfit. She tied her hair in a pony tail and went out.

Blanca spent a thousand dollars to purchase a black dress, a pair of high heels and a handbag.

She was quite reluctant when she paid and thought to herself that she must let Matthew pay for this.

After all this, she went home and cleaned herself up. Then she changed into her new clothes and waited for Matthew.

Blanca knew how this worked. She had to meet his requirements so that he would tell her some clues about the original owner of the jade necklace.

At six in the evening, Matthew arrived at the mansion on time.

When he saw Blanca, he raised his eyebrows, “New dress?”

Then he spotted the price tag hidden in her collar.

Matthew frowned and pulled the tag out. Just as he was about to tear it down, Blanca stopped him, “Wait! Will you pay for this? I can still return this tomorrow.”

Matthew tore it down and thrown her a credit card. He said gloomily, “You’re Mrs. Grant now. Don’t do this kind of things ever again.”

Blanca was stunned. She held the card and smiled awkwardly, “Thank you. But I grew up doing things like this and I don’t think it’s embarrassing.”

Matthew knew she felt uncomfortable but he didn’t want to have a discussion about the gap between the rich and the poor right now.

He said coldly, “Later you’ll meet my grandpa, my dad, my stepmother and her daughter Louise. But Louise and I are not biological siblings. She’s just my step sister.”

Blanca peeked at him and his tone had made it clear that he and his family were not so close. She wanted to ask him where his real mother was but she didn’t want to sound so nosy. So, she gave up asking.

“Okay.” answered Blanca.

Matthew thought of something and added, “If my douchebag cousin didn’t die in the karaoke, you’ll see him there. Don’t be alone with him. He’s a jerk.”

Blanca chuckled, “Then you should warn him not to mess with me.”

Matthew glanced at her and shook his head, “Don’t get yourself into trouble. We’ll go back after dinner.”

“Okay!” Blanca rolled her eyes and said, “Do your stepmother and your cousin always bully you? Do you want me to get back at them? I’m really good at this.”

Matthew looked at her coldly. Did he need a girl to get back at someone?

“I don’t want trouble and don’t make me any.”

Blanca pouted her lips and nodded. But she was ready for a battle.
