“Stand up, Delia,” Dustin said coldly.

“Mr. Foxtin, you’ve finally forgiven me?” Delia was delighted.

“You’re no longer my student. Don’t go around saying that I’m your teacher again!” Dustin’s words made her smile freeze on her face.

“But why?!” she cried out.

Why was he still unwilling to forgive her? What had she done wrong?

“You’re not worthy of it!” Dustin snapped impatiently.

Delia swayed and staggered back a few steps. Amara held her steady.

Delia could not accept this.

Meanwhile, Amara could not understand it either.

She had asked Delia about it plenty of times, but they could not figure out what Delia had done to make Foxtin mad.

It was as if the Medical Sage had suddenly turned against them without a reason.

“Since there are plenty of physicians here, I’ll say this once more,” Dustin said coldly.

“Delia Wyatt, the fourth daughter of the Wyatt family, is no longer my student and has not been one for a long time. From this moment, I’m cutting all ties with her, and I will no longer accept any students!” he declared resolutely.

The physicians erupted into a flurry of chatter and whispered among each other.

Delia had not been Foxtin’s student for a long time?

What was going on?

Delia’s face turned pale.

With Dustin’s public declaration, she had no wiggle room to salvage the situation.

She would no longer have the honor and privilege of being the Medical Sage’s student.

Without the Medical Sage, she was nothing.

Even her positions as an intermediate grade physician and vice president of Rivenesco’s Physicians‘ Association were given to her because of her role as the Medical Sage’s student.

“Mr. Foxtin, what about the matter of the Wyatt family?” one of the physicians asked.

“Delia used my name without my knowledge,” Dustin said.

“What?!”

The physicians were furious.

Since Delia was not Dustin’s student anymore, they no longer needed to butter her up.

They had traveled a long way because the Wyatt family had lied to them. Some of them had even questioned their existence when their treatment failed. How could they not be angry?

Delia had been lying to them just so that they would help cure Elijah, and they had thought that they could get some guidance from the Medical Sage! What a joke!

“Amara Wyatt, Delia Wyatt, how dare you lie to us? a physician stepped forward and snapped at them. “Your family isn’t that powerful, but you dare do something like this?! You’re all terrible people!”

When the physicians turned against them, Amara and Delia did not dare respond. They could only endure the humiliation silently.

This was the worst possible outcome.

Not only had they failed to cure Elijah, but they had also offended so many physicians.

While the Medical Sage had come forward, he had only made the situation worse. Delia had not been able to mend her relationship with him, and he had cut all ties with the Wyatt family.

Amara and Delia felt really distraught. Their faces changed.

“You’re on your own now, Wyatt sisters,” someone said darkly.

Amara and Delia’s faces turned even more ashen.

The physician who had spoken was from a powerful organization, so they felt terrified.

As they faced the accusations from the crowd, the sisters were unable to defend themselves.

“Mr. Foxtin…” Suddenly, Amara raised her head and looked at Dustin. “A terrible person hurt my brother. He’s in great pain because that person jabbed him in a few places. Plenty of physicians have tried curing him, but none of them succeeded. You’re the only miracle grade physician around.

Surely, you can save him? Or are you perhaps no better than these top grade physicians?” she asked flippantly.

The physicians immediately fell silent and looked at Dustin.

They indeed want to know whether Elijah could be saved.

If the Medical Sage treated him personally, he would be saved.

Dustin glared at Amara.

He sensed her trying to goad him with reverse psychology. He smirked.

“Are you implying that I can’t save him?” Dustin retorted.

Amara shook her head.

“You’re the only miracle grade physician in the world, and you’re very famous. You’re known as the sage of the medical world and are a god–like presence in the field, but only a handful of people have seen you in action.” Her voice was mocking. “Many people in this world can’t live up to their names, after all.”

“You’re just trying to use reverse psychology on me to save your brother,” Dustin chuckled.

“That’s right.” Amara did not deny it. “Are you really second to none in the world of medicine? Please prove that to us.

She laughed. This was an open ploy. © 2024 Nôv/el/Dram/a.Org.

If Dustin refused to do that in front of so many physicians, that would mean she was right. The rumors would then damage the Medical Sage’s reputation.

If Dustin agreed and cured Elijah, she would have achieved her goal.

“Well, aren’t you cunning, Miss Amara?” Dustin sneered.

“Thank you for the praise.” Amara ignored the insult and smiled.

Dustin smiled teasingly and said, “I’ll cure him, then.”

Amara and Delia perked up, and they pushed the unconscious Elijah forward.

The physicians surrounded them and watched in rapt attention.

It was a great honor to watch the Medical Sage in action.

Dustin did not waste any time and fed some pills to Elijah.

Immediately, the pills melted in Elijah’s mouth, and the effects kicked in.

Elijah’s breathing steadied as the pain faded away. He then opened his eyes slowly.

This time, he did not scream when he woke up.

“How do you feel, Elijah?” Amara asked.

“I’m no longer… in pain…” Elijah said. He looked much better.

“He cured him with just a few pills!” The gathered physicians were astonished.

They did all that they could and still failed. Yet, the Medical Sage treated Elijah so easily.

He really deserved the title of the Medical Sage!

He had amazing skills!

Amara was delighted. She walked forward to thank Dustin.

“I was too desperate to save my brother, so I had to offend you. Please, forgive me,” she said apologetically.

“Don’t start celebrating yet, Amara,” Dustin said coldly

Then, he tossed a pill into Elijah’s mouth. The latter’s face turned red.

“Ahhh!!!” Elijah screamed at the top of his lungs once again.

“What?”

Amara and Delia’s faces turned pale with shock. They were at a loss for words.

“If I can cure him, I can naturally make him return to his previous state,” Dustin said with a sneer.

“Your brother could have recovered after seven days of pain, but now, he’s going to suffer for fourteen days. It’s going to be even worse than before,” he said chillingly. “Even I can’t say whether he will be able

to make it through this time.”

Amara and Delia’s faces turned ashen.

The pain would be worse?

What could they do?

“Amara Wyatt, this is your punishment for trying to be clever,” Dustin said indifferently.

He had proven that he was second to none in the field of medicine, but he would not let Elijah off so easily.

Amara was rooted to the spot. She felt dejected.

Her clever scheme did not save Elijah. It had made his pain worse.

Regret and guilt gnawed at her heart. She felt tormented by it.

As she watched Elijah scream, she felt as though her heart was bleeding.

Amara fell to her knees in front of Dustin.

“Please, Mr. Foxtin… Please, save my brother! He’s the only son of the Wyatt family!” She abandoned her pride and dignity and begged Dustin for his help.
