Chapter 14 She Rubbed His Palm with Her Fingers
"Like this." Natalie Quinn put a drop of the essence on his palm and gently smoothed it with her middle
finger.
Her hands were soft and warm.
She rubbed his palm with her finger.
He felt it hot and a little itchy.
It was amazing.
Natalie raised her hand and then gently tapped him on his temple, saying, "If you can't fall asleep, you
can smooth some oil in your palm first, and apply them on your wrists and your temples. And then take
a deep breath."
She was so close to him.
As she was speaking, her rosy lips opened and shut, like cherries with an attractive color.
She had fair and fine skin, and no pores could be seen at close range. NôvelDrama.Org holds text © rights.
She also got a fresh scent after bathing.
Kendrick Ramsey closed his eyes. He followed her words and took a deep breath.
The smell of the oil brought him a sense of calm.
It could help him sleep.
Natalie sat up straight and said with a smile, "Wish you a good sleep. Good night then!"
"Good night!"
She folded the skirt and pointed to the cloakroom, "Then I will go that way."
Although their rooms were connected, they had always left each other alone, let alone had such
physical contact at the moment.
Before Natalie slept, she checked Kendrick's schedule for tomorrow.
His schedule was not filled up as before.
The psychiatrist would come for routine counseling in the morning.
The meeting in the afternoon would end at three o'clock, and then he would go to Ramsey's mansion
with her.
Natalie's hands still caught the scent of the oil.
She raised her hand and smelt it. It helped calm the nerves.
...
Lance Hoover, the psychiatrist, arrived half an hour early in the morning.
It was Natalie who greeted him.
"Please take a seat first and have some water. Kendrick is in a meeting. Please wait for a moment."
Lance had met her a few times before, but they had no interaction at all. She didn't like meeting
strangers, not to mention greeting them. Therefore, it was the maids of the family who always
entertained him.
But this time it was Mrs. Ramsay personally, making Dr. Hoover bewildered.
Natalie sat down across from him. She poured a cup of tea for him and then pushed a dish of pastry,
"Have a taste of the pastry please."
As Lance couldn't refuse her offer, he tasted the pastry and tried to flatter her, "Did you make it
yourself, Mrs. Ramsay? It tastes good."
"Well, I didn't. I brought it." answered Natalie.
He felt that he just praised her in the wrong way.
"Dr. Hoover, why don't we add each other on the platform?" said Natalie, "Then we can communicate
easily when we need to."
"Well, all right."
Dr. Hoover turned on the phone so that she could scan his QR code, and immediately he found that
she changed his remark to Kendrick's psychiatrist.
He expected his remark to be "Dr. Hoover", but he found that he didn't even have his name for the
remark.
"Well, it will be easier to remember." explained Natalie.
"I understand. I've got to go up, Mrs. Ramsey." said Lance.
"Well, all right. How about staying here for lunch? I'll have the kitchen prepare it."
"Thank you, but I can't trouble you for it, for this time."
Lance tried hard to control his expressions and rushed upstairs.
The door of the study was pushed open.
Kendrick looked up to Lance with a poker face and frowned, "What's wrong? Why are you so flurried?"
"Have you improved your relationship recently?" asked Lance unconsciously.
Kendrick raised his eyebrows, "Did you switch to marriage counseling"?"
Certainly Lance didn't. He was just curious about it.
"But..." Kendrick changed the topic, "Well, recently we have gotten along much better than before."
And it was more than that. He also felt comfortable.
"Congratulations. See. She just said hello to me and greeted me personally. She also added me on the
platform."
Hearing that, Kendrick caught timely the last sentence Lance just said, "She'd offered to add you?"
"That was right." Lance nodded.
He seemed to notice some "danger" as he heard the question.
"I don't even deserve a name." Dr. Hoover became angry, "She changed my remark to your
psychiatrist."
He felt it hurt.
"Well, I suspect she has changed the remarks of everyone, to your driver, your bodyguard and
something like that."
Probably the remarks in her phone were all about Kendrick!
Kendrick thought of such a situation.
He felt it rather funny.
"Time's up. Let's get started then!"
Kendrick would have a 50-minutes consultation. After years of this kind of psychological treatment,
Kendrick had gradually reached a stable mental state. Therefore, within 30 minutes, Dr. Hoover could
diagnose that Kendrick was in good spirits these days.
Lance was under great pressure when delivering psychological counseling to Kendrick. He came back
from studying abroad, with a top educational background and high professional quality. He was
recognized when he first did the consultation for Kendrick and then became the fixed psychological
consultant for the latter. After a long time, they had gotten along with each other, unlike other
consultants and patients who only had indifferent communication.
There were 20 minutes left.
Kendrick played with the pen in his hand and asked, "You just mentioned that she said hello to you and
greeted you personally?"
"She did. She is not quite like before." Lance thought about it, and then said, "She was rather friendly
and polite this time."
Because Lance once mildly suggested that the original owner should also have psychological
counselling, she just thought Lance was indicating she was sick and thus her face collapsed. She
almost asked him to get out if she could.
"Indeed, she's been a little different lately." Kendrick said, "She has changed a lot."
"Can you be specific?"
"As you can see," Kendrick said, "she is more open and brighter than before. She becomes more
mature in saying and doing, and can tackle things with more ease. Just smart and alert."
And certainly, she was lovelier.
"So, she is moving towards a good direction and becoming a better person. That's nice."
"It's just," Kendrick frowned, "what's the chance then?"
Normally, people would only change their characters suddenly after suffering from major changes or
amnesia.
But she didn't look like she had amnesia at all.
Could she stab herself and then have a sudden enlightenment?
After all, Kendrick had had a complete and systematic study of general logic, but he still couldn't
explain it in a scientific way.
With rich working experience, Lance said, "Chance might not be the only factor. Probably she has a
sudden enlightenment, commonly known as coming round. If the specific reason can't be found out,
just try to keep the nice result and that is it."
Kendrick didn't expect any useful information from Lance, but he quite agreed with the last sentence
that the latter said.
He decided not to dwell on her change.
...
In the afternoon, Natalie changed into a long dress covered with cherries and got dressed. She was
ready to come back to the Ramsey family for the banquet.
She wore plain makeup.
Alisson sprayed the setting spray for Natalie, and put a diamond hairpin in Natalie's hair, saying, "Mrs.
Ramsey, your skill of making up is much better than before."
As Natalie became much more good-tempered, Alisson dared to speak to Natalie.
"I have watched a few teaching videos recently." said Natalie calmly.
In fact, it was her senior who taught her carefully. She felt it a bother, but her senior forced her to learn
such skills.
So there was no problem with daily makeup. She asked Alisson to help her with the makeup for the
banquet last time.
"The dress is also pretty. It's most suitable for a family banquet." Alisson gave another compliment.
Natalie pursed her lips and smiled, "Kendrick chose it."
Alisson opened her eyes wide, feeling quite surprised.
"I gave him three dresses of different styles that I like and asked him to choose one. Well, I referred to
his advice and thus he would have a sense of participation." Natalie said with a smile, "By doing so, we
both would be satisfied, and then get on with each other in a rather easy and comfortable way."
Alisson said admiringly, "Mrs. Ramsey, you are an expert, aren't you!"
