Chapter 288 Taking Him To Know Her

Colin turned his head to meet Faye's eyes.

Faye's red lips moved, "We have something to do."

Outside the window, it was getting dark.

Colin thought that Faye wanted to make out with him, and he grinned, his Adam's apple rolling, "Okay."

Robert was stunned when he was driven out of the car.

Seeing the resplendent sunset, Robert suddenly got somehow upset.

He just couldn't catch a break, could he?

In the car, Colin was driving in the driver's seat; the tie around his neck was loosened by him.

Faye leaned on the seat and looked out the window, somewhat lost in thought.

After driving for a while, Colin asked with a deep laugh, "Where do you want to go?"

Faye raised her lips, "I'm taking you to drink."

Hearing that, Colin was more sure of her intention. His thin lips curved in a smile, "Okay."

Under the guidance of Faye, the car finally stopped in front of a tavern.

Colin parked the car and the two got out.

Standing at the door of the tavern, Colin raised his eyebrows, "Just drinking?"

Faye asked, "Or what?"

Colin pressed the tip of his tongue against one cheek, "I was expecting some appetizers."

Faye didn't change her face, "You can get some in the tavern."

The tavern Faye brought Colin to was the one she had been to with Jake before.

Last time, she said she was going to bring Colin here, but with so much happening thereafter, she had Contentt bel0ngs to N0ve/lDrâ/ma.O(r)g!

to give up the plan.

It just so happened that they were free today, and they might as well just do it now.

The tavern owner knew Faye.

Seeing that Faye brought a man in, he was surprised at first, and then greeted her with a smile, "Hi,

Faye."

Faye smiled, "The same old place."

The tavern owner was typing on a computer, and he paused at Faye's words, "What?"

Faye smiled, "My husband."

The tavern owner suddenly understood. He came out from the front desk and personally led the way.

"It was such a shock. I was wondering why you brought an outsider here all of a sudden."

"And you mentioned the old place."

The tavern owner laughed while talking, and finally whispered, "I want to renovate this place. How

about you try to talk Jake into it? The last time I told him about the renovation, he got mad at me."

Faye smiled, "I'll try."

The tavern owner, "Has he recovered yet?"

Faye said, "No."

The tavern owner shook his head, "Mental worries cannot be cured by medicine, but unfortunately, the

only cure for his disease has long left this world..."

Faye chatted with the tavern owner, while Colin just followed behind lazily with his hands in his pockets.

He always thought aside from work, her social circle was only made up of the Farrells, Rebecca, and

Tanner.

But now it seemed that it was not the case at all.

As Colin pondered, the tavern owner brought them to a box, opened the door, and the tavern owner

signaled Colin to go ahead.

Colin said politely, "Thank you."

The tavern owner had been chatting with Faye just now, so he didn't see Colin's face very clearly. Now

he took a closer look, and his eyes lit up. He said to Faye, "Your husband is more handsome than

Jake."

Faye smiled, "Doctor Thomas probably won't be happy to hear this comment."

The tavern owner said, "The waiters here privately said that Jake looks like a refined rascal."

Faye pursed her lips and chuckled.

The tavern owner's evaluation was very pertinent. Jake had a gentle appearance and always wore a

pair of gold-rimmed glasses, but the sick evilness inside him almost oozed from his bones.

He deserved to be called a refined rascal.

The tavern owner said a few more words to Faye at the door of the box, then smiled at Colin in the box,

and turned to leave.

Faye walked in and saw Colin leaning back in the seat and signaling to her to get closer with his finger.

Faye stepped forward, "What's wrong?"

Colin looked up at Faye, "Were you just talking about Jake Thomas?"

Faye said, "Hmm."

Colin asked, "You have a good personal relationship with Jake?"

Faye looked at him, "What's your point?"

Colin thought he was hiding his intention well, but Faye could see the self-conquest in his eyes.

Faye held back the urge to laugh, "Jake has a crush on someone."

Colin raised his eyebrows slightly, "What?"

Faye didn't tell him the answer. She walked over to him and sat down, "It's a common problem for

humans. You like something or someone, and you think other people would have the same taste as

you."

Colin, "What?"

Faye was about to continue speaking when the box door was pushed open from the outside, and the

waiter brought wine and side dishes.

Faye served Colin the warm wine, "Have a taste."

Colin picked up the wine glass and took a sip, "Did the tavern owner make it himself?"

Faye nodded, took a bite of the side dish, sipped the wine, and narrowed her eyes in enjoyment.

Seeing this, Colin's eyes darkened, and he said in a low voice, "You haven't finished what you said just

now."

Faye raised her eyes, "You care so much about me that you always think that others would feel the

same about me."

Faye said with a serious face. Colin chuckled and said in an alluring voice, "So, you know I care too

much about you."

Faye asked, "That's the point you get?"

Colin said meaningfully, "How about I take you for a drive by the river after drinking?"

Faye tapped her fingers on the wine glass irregularly. Thinking of what happened after drinking by the

river last time, she said slowly, "Then maybe I should drink more."
