My Flash Romance With the Richest Mogul

Chapter 1679

Zera said, her tone softening, "I'm just speaking my mind. Aiken and I truly love each other. Honestly, I didn't even know about Wendy at first. It bothered me for a while when I found out, and I even thought about leaving your brother.

"I didn't want to be the third party in someone else's relationship. But sometimes, feelings can't be controlled. I wanted to leave, but I just couldn't control my emotions. We're both women, so I'm sure you can understand where I'm coming from."

Simona didn't buy it. "I'm not a man, and you don't need to be all sweet and delicate with me. What you're really reluctant to leave behind are the resources Aiken has given you, right? He can use money to give you opportunities today, and he can do the same for someone else tomorrow.

"You keep saying you don't want to be the third party, but then you go behind his back to confront Wendy. Don't you think that's a bit hypocritical? Men may fall for your act, but it doesn't work on me."

Simona wasted no time in exposing Zera's pretenses.

She continued, her tone cold, "The reason Aiken likes you is probably because you remind him of Wendy. She's easygoing, but I'm not. If you've messed with Wendy, you've messed with me. Do you understand?"

Zera's eyes widened, her expression faltering as tears welled up, her face contorting with feigned hurt. As an actress, she knew how to quickly summon an expression of vulnerability.

Simona thought that men always fell for that act. But women? They were repulsed by it.

"Why cry now?" Simona thought, her impatience clear as she rolled her eyes. "Where were those tears when you were bullying others?

"If you spent as much effort on your acting as you do on these antics, maybe people wouldn't mock your lack of talent."

Zera's face flushed with anger. "You-"

"Go ahead and tell Aiken," Simona said.

With that, Simona turned and walked away, not sparing Zera another glance.

Lately, Zera had been showered with praise, and no one had ever spoken to her so bluntly. It felt like a slap to the face.

Noticing the redness in Zera's eyes, Trix immediately asked with concern, "Are you okay?"

Zera bit her lip, forcing the tears back. She couldn't let anyone see her weakness.

Zera was determined to find Wendy. It must have been Wendy who went to complain to Simona.

She had once thought Wendy was a dignified person, someone who wouldn't make a fuss, but now she saw her as nothing more than a lowlynoveldrama

woman.

Simona might have claimed she was

was a stroke of fortune. Zera couldn't help but wonder why she hadn't been blessed with such luck.

Skylar finished work early that day. She went to pick up Vivian from her class.

Vivian had a piano lesson scheduled, and by the time they arrived home, the teacher was already there. Skylar and Edgar were busy in the kitehen, but the sounds of Vivian playing the piano filled the house.

"Vivian plays the piano so well!" Edgar praised with a smile.

Skylar chuckled. "She's only been learning for just over a year. It's still too early to notice much progress."

"The teacher says Vivian has natural talent and is willing to work hard, practicing the piano every day. That kind of persistence and effort is rare in children. Just like you and Mr. Martin."

After praising Vivian, Edgar went on to compliment Skylar and Joe as well.
