My Formidable Husband

Chapter 99

Chapter 99

Chapter 99 A Deserter Right as Christopher said that, Fabio roared, “F*cking hell. Are you trying to show off? Who do you

think you are to look for help? Who are you going to look for? You’re just a veteran. Who in the world

do you know?”

“That’s right. Who do you think you are? Do you think you know Mr. Songsmith like my boyfriend does?

I’d say you’re trying to run from this. You know you’re in trouble. Julianna, look at your husband. He

was a soldier, but he’s thinking of running the moment he encounters any issue. No wonder he

abandoned you for three years. I’d say he must be a deserter!” Scarlett raged.

To her, Christopher was worlds apart from Douglas.

Even Frank shot Christopher a resentful look. If Christopher hadn’t suddenly stood up, this wouldn’t

have happened.

“Scarlett, mind what you say. My husband knows Tyler Wheeler. Doesn’t Tyler have the VIP card for

the VIP room? Maybe he’ll be able to have a talk with Mr. Songsmith about this,” Julianna refuted when

she heard Scarlett humiliating Christopher.

Hearing that, Frank realized that his daughter might be on to something. Thus, he quickly chimed in,

“Yes, maybe that will work out.”

“What’s so freaking good about that? Didn’t you hear what Christopher said? He’s just a mere

associate of Tyler. I doubt he has his number,” Fabian scoffed.

Cindy turned to look at her son-in-law as well. I’m going to teach you a lesson once we’re home.

“We can’t let Christopher run no matter what. I doubt he can help us out!” Fabio shouted.

Christopher snorted inwardly. The one they were up against was merely Merrick. Even Globetrotter

Winery and Globetrotter Lake were his, so how could he possibly not be able to deal with the situation?

“I’m still here. If Christopher flees, I’ll take the responsibility,” Julianna said abruptly.

Christopher turned to look at Julianna and flashed her a smile. Then, his eyes flicked toward Scarlett as

he said, “I won’t run.”

At the same time, Julianna said to Owen, “I’m his wife. He won’t run. Let him head out to find a way to

solve this.” © NôvelDrama.Org - All rights reserved.

Owen inclined his head. Everyone was in the room, and no one dared to owe his employer anything.

Thus, he let Christopher out.

Just as Christopher went out and turned around the corner, he heard Douglas’ angry voice. “D*mn it.

It’s that darn soldier’s fault. I shouldn’t have invited them to a meal. What a f*cking idiot. Only f*cking

idiots like him would serve in the army. Julianna, too. She’s so pretty, but she’s blind to have fallen for a

soldier. If only she was mine…”

Christopher’s expression darkened. It was his first time meeting Douglas, and the two did not have any

grievances against each other. Yet, Douglas had been targeting him ever since he appeared. That

annoyed him, but that was not enough to make him feel the urge to retaliate.

However, Douglas had managed to infuriate Christopher with his earlier words. There were two things

that Christopher would defend with his life—one was the honor of a soldier, and the other was Julianna.

Douglas had just humiliated them both.

Therefore, he had no one to blame but himself for what was going to happen next.

Furthermore, Douglas had clearly come out of the room to escape the issue instead of solving it.

Instead of saying anything, Christopher quietly scanned his surroundings before heading to a corner

and calling Diane.

Diane’s voice traveled out of the speakers and into his ear. “Mr. Yaeger, what’s the matter?”

“Do you know Merrick Songsmith of Gold River Hotel?” Christopher asked in a hushed tone.

“I think so. Gold River Hotel is located at Globetrotter Lake’s prime location. Centurion Corporation is

the one renting him the building where he’s currently running his business. What’s the matter, Mr.

Yaeger? Did he cross you?” Diane asked anxiously.

“No. It’s just that we’re having a meal at his hotel, and we ended up ruining one of his antique

paintings,” Christopher briefly explained to her. Instantly, Diane replied, “Mr. Yaeger, I’ll deal with this.”

“Remember not to reveal anything about me,” Christopher reminded quietly.

“Don’t worry,” Diane reassured with a smile.

“By the way, are you free to check something out for me? Find out if there are any stores owned by the

Jeffersons at Globetrotter Lake. They have a son named Douglas Jefferson. But I don’t know what kind

of businesses they might have.”

“Please give me a moment, Mr. Yaeger. I’ll look into it right away.” Diane was swift to get to work. Half a

minute later, she replied, “Mr. Yaeger, I have the results. The Jeffersons have a boutique. What’s the

matter with Douglas?”

“He humiliated my wife,” Christopher said through gritted teeth.

“I understand, Mr. Yaeger. I’ll deal with this right away,” Diane answered solemnly.

“Good.” Christopher bobbed his head. After a moment of hesitation, Diane asked, “Mr. Yaeger, were

you the one behind the incident with Skywind Gale?”

“That is confidential. Never speak about it.”

“Of course, Mr. Yaeger.”

Diane inhaled sharply. She knew that her employer’s identity was far too terrifying.
