The blazing sun scorched with a menacing vengeance that day, and the cool breeze which had been a
constant relief the previous weeks had turned into a hateful enemy. Amelia could practically feel herself
melting with each step she took, and it didn’t take long before she felt like almost passing out. Coupled
with the exhaustion she had gotten from lectures which had ended a few minutes ago, she almost felt
like a walking candle that would burn out at any minute. She was just happy that school for the day was
finally over, and that the next day was a weekend. She’d get all the rest she needed. But first, she
needed to solve her immediate problem...
Ravaging hunger!!!!
“Amelia, wait for me!” a voice suddenly stopped her in her tracks. She turned and saw her close friend
and ever-loyal seat-mate, May, approaching her.
May was a short, scrawny-looking girl with dusty brown hair and a charming smile. She wasn’t too
brilliant though, but Amelia always helped her with school work and that made both of them really
close. Did she also mention that May was an endless chatterbox?
“Wazzup babe? Where’re you off to?”
May asked as she reached Amelia’s side and continued her walk with her on the college sidewalk.
“Just somewhere where I can quench my raging thirst. I feel like a walking volcano”
May chuckled, “yeah, the heat is really murderous this time of the year. Common, let’s head to the
diner for lunch. My treat” Thanks May, I needed that”
They arrived at the diner a few minutes later and settled down for lunch. May continued her endless
babble on how legal studies were such an exhausting course, and how the first thing she’d do when
she became a lawyer would be to sue all mean professors in college. Like the one, they’d just finished
with. Amelia just smiled and went along with everything she said.
“Honestly Amelia” May continued, stuffing her mouth with food, “what is up with those professors? It’s
not our fault that their lives are so sad”
“Common May” Amelia chuckled, “give them a break will ya? Those ‘sad' professors are the reason
you know so much about suing people”
“Yeah, well they should go to hell for all I care” she suddenly paused and her eyes went as wide as
saucers when she looked over Amelia’s shoulders
“What’s wrong May?”
“Amelia, don’t look now but guess who’s approaching this table”
Amelia shook her head and turned around to see a familiar figure walking towards them. “I told you not
to look” May rolled her eyes but Amelia was already transfixed by the approaching figure. She couldn’t
help but feast her eyes on the long brown hair, and dimpled smile. The chocolate eyes which could
easily melt the coldest of hearts. The carefully sculpted body and regal confidence which he held as he
walked.“Lucas Net” she muttered.
“O.M.G! He’s so cute...” she heard May shriek beside her.
“hey Amelia”
“Hello”
“Hi, Lucas!!! What brings you here today?”
“Oh hi, May. I was looking for Amelia. I knew I’d find her here because of the nature of today’s weather.
I needed to talk to her about something”
“Why, is there a problem?” Amelia
asked worriedly.“No, not at all...it’s just...I was thinking that since tomorrow’s a weekend....and if you're
not too busy of course... that maybe we could go out on a dinner date or something? I’d really
appreciate it if you said yes”
“Hold on” May suddenly chirped in with a baffled expression, “you came all the way here to ask Amelia
out on a date??? Couldn’t you have called her or something?”
“Well um....I...uh..” he stuttered nervously, “I just wanted to see her face actually. And ask her out
personally? It’s stupid, I know....”
“Awwwwwnnnn, that’s so cute!!! Amelia, you have to say yes!”
“May!...stop that” Amelia could feel herself blushing, “Lucas, you didn’t have to come all the way here.
You are like my boss after all and...”
“Shhhhh, common Amelia. I don’t see you as an employee or anything. I see you as a friend. A friend
that I’d like to take out for dinner tomorrow night, if she obliges that is”
She thought about it for a while.
She wasn’t sure she wanted to go out on a date with this man. He was the one who helped her after all,
with the school and even her apartment. Wouldn’t it seem like she was taking advantage of him?
The last thing she needed was to be called a leach or something like that. Then again, she didn’t want
to sound ungrateful by turning him down...
“Amelia? Are you okay?” a voice suddenly snapped her out of her thoughts and she looked up to see
Lucas’s worried expression looking down at her...“Look, you don’t have to go. I was
just thinking that...”
“What are you talking about Lucas, of course, she’ll go! Right Amelia???” May turned to her and gave
her a warning stare. The kind that said “I will kill you if-you-turn-down-this-date-and-get-a life-for once”
Amelia immediately understood and
sighed in defeat, “Okay fine”
“Really?” Lucas sounded excited.
“Yeah, really?” even May was surprised.
“Yes, really” Amelia couldn’t help but laugh at the expression on their faces.
“Okay then...wow..so um, is 8 o’clock fine
then?”
“Yes, eight is fine”
“Great. So... I’ll go make reservations now. I’ll pick you up tomorrow. Thanks for this Amelia, it really
means a lot”
She smiled at him, “it is okay”
He gave them a two-fingered salute and ran off like a child who’d be rewarded.
“awwwn, he really is cute...” May fawned
“May...” Amelia drawled and dropped her head on the table, “what have you gotten me into???”
“What? Don’t tell me you wanna change your mind!!”
“No, it’s not it...I just...I really think a date with Lucas is a bad idea”
“But why?”
“Don’t you get it?” she asked frustratingly,
“Luca is like my boss. He was the one who helped me out when I was in trouble. I don’t want it to look
like I’m taking advantage of him”
May scoffed, “don’t be ridiculous. He wouldn’t help you if he didn’t like you, okay? Just see this as an
opportunity to relax and forget about your problems a little. I mean, Luca’s a great guy! What do you
have to lose?”Amelia sighed in defeat once more, “yeah, I guess you’re right”.....

Sitting in a dark corner of a bar, above the normal floor level in the VIP room, on a red high chair, stood NôvelDrama.Org owns this.
a man, watching the movements of people from below.
His gaze darkened, and his face was blank.
His eyes glazed with thoughts as he tried to shake the restlessness in his heart.
A frown sat on his brow as he tried to settle the giddies.
His muscles twitching, trying to get him to move.
Adrenaline pumped into his veins ceaselessly as he sat. The more he tried to overcome it, the harder it
came.
A groan escaped his lips, forcing him to his feet. His once static expression was now shattered and in
place, anger and frustration.
His hands found a way to his head, creating a pattern as he ran them through his hair repeatedly.
Frustration overcame his senses, all he could feel, smell, touch, breath was her, he couldn't get his
mind of her, he kept having restless nightmares of how she would be now, where she is, how she is
doing.
Tears pricked at the corner of his eyes, the pounds of his footsteps clouded his senses that he didn't
hear the clicking heels of a brunette.
The teasing tap on his shoulder startled him, he turned around painstakingly slowly, his muscles
twitching, he turned to see a young blonde brunette staring seductively at him.
She bit her lips as she trailed her fingers down his chest, she held his face and rubbed his cheeks
softly, she drew him closer to him about to kiss him.
Like the flick of a light bulb, he recovered himself and pushed her away shocked, she yelped loudly
falling on her heels, her hair covers her face as she started at him, she stands up and rains curses on
him, tears pricking at the corner of her eyes.
He didn't pay attention to her as his senses were still clouded, he stared below the bar, the red and
blue lights spiraling everywhere.
The blonde brunette lady humphed in defeat and left him to his thoughts.
He walked back to his seat and poured him self a glass of whiskey, he drank it all in a gulp and poured
another, he was on his fifth cup when it went flying out of his hand shattering to pieces.
“What the fu*k as gotten into you my child, you need to stop this, all this” His dad said gesturing to him.
“You need to forget about her, she doesn't even know if you're existing again, stop getting wasted, get
a life son”
“But my life's with her”he grunted tilting his head back.
“No it isn't, you need to wake up son, stop drinking, you have an empire to build, a generation, stop day
dreaming of someone who's never going to come back to you, and you know it son” His dad yelled
loudly at him.
“But she's alone now, maybe I could get a second chance, maybe she would come back, and when
she does i'll rub it in your face dad” He said with a hopeful smile.
"Maybe she's alone" he gritted.
Tears streamed down his dad face as he stared at his son, his heart aching for him, the sharp pain
unbearable he couldn't take it.
“Dad!!”
