Chapter 0356
Chapter 0356
Mr. Franklyn smiled and said, "Candice just told me that Burning Star wants to participate in the Redshade tender. Maybe your company, Aether, and Burning Star can cooperate again."
"Is Aether also participating?" Candice asked. "The Redshade tender not only involves design firms but also investors. This is considered quite a significant event."
Candice had researched the Redshade tender last night. It was quite different from others, as it gathered almost all domestic resources and provided opportunities that were not easily available otherwise. Therefore, every time it was held, it was particularly grand.
The tender venue was also divided into several sections, each dedicated to different fields. Burning Star was interested in a section jointly hosted by Dorrington and Solaris, called the "Rising Moon" themed exhibition. It not only had overarching thematic ideas but also incorporated some popular local elements.
However, this section was also one of the most popular among all the tenders.
Based on Candice's understanding of Aether, she instinctively felt that among the several sections, there was a higher likelihood of Alex choosing the Rising Moon section.
Sure enough—
Mr. Franklyn said, "Actually, it's quite coincidental. Your chosen themes are quite similar. If you can collaborate again, you would save on the process of adjustment."
Alex nodded gracefully, going along with Mr. Franklyn's words. "I'm also looking forward to the second collaboration with Burning Star."
Even though Candice's mind was swirling with thoughts, she had to follow Alex's lead in the conversation.
After Mr. Franklyn left, she suppressed her emotions and looked at Alex. "Does Aether also want to collaborate with Burning Star for the second time?"
Candice did not believe what he had said. After all, in the case of Blue Artifact, Alex had overturned Burning Star's plans several times.
"Is there another studio in Dorrington that is more suitable?" Alex casually threw out the reply.
Candice realized his meaning. It was not that Alex wanted to collaborate with Burning Star. It was that he could only collaborate with Burning Star.
Apart from the adjustment period with a new studio, there was another significant reason: both Burning Star and Aether were located in Dorrington. This point alone would save Alex a considerable amount of manpower and time resources. Moreover, the best studio in Dorrington was Burning Star.
As Candice was lost in thought, she suddenly heard Angela's voice.
"We talked about going out tonight. Do you want to join us?" Angela asked.
"I'll pass."
"Okay, that's fine," Angela shrugged with a hint of disappointment. "By the way, there's a young man waiting for you outside." She elongated the word 'you', making it sound rather suggestive.
Candice was stunned, and her immediate reaction was that it might be Barox. She checked her phone and saw several missed calls from him. Candice pursed her lips and headed out.
As she passed by Alex, she caught a whiff of the faint pine scent emanating from him. She paused and said, "You're right. In this tender, Burning and Aether are indeed each other's best choice."
For Alex, the resources needed were considerable, and similarly, Burning Star needed resources too, perhaps even more than Aether.
Alex remained calm, his gaze lowered as he looked at Candice. "So?"
"I'll discuss it with Hanley."
Alex's intention was already clear in front of Mr. Franklyn. He wanted to collaborate with Burning Star again.
"I look forward to your response," Alex said casually.
Candice did not respond further and turned to leave.
Behind her, Alex's distracted gaze slowly focused. Content rights by NôvelDr//ama.Org.
"Mr. Elysian." A soft and sweet voice sounded nearby.
Alex turned and saw Angela, wearing a playful and cute smile, looking at him innocently.
She sighed. "Mr. Elysian, Candice is already pregnant. You really don't have a chance anymore."
Alex's deep eyes showed almost no fluctuations as he responded calmly. "Is that so?"
"Yeah,” Angela said. "So, would you consider me then?"
"Designer Brown must be joking," Alex replied coldly, then strode out of the meeting room.
Angela watched his stern departing figure. Unable to resist, she took out her phone and complained in a voice message to someone. "Ella, I got rejected by that man again. He's just too much."

Candice found Barox in the same spot as yesterday. This time, he was carrying a lunch box. She halted as Barox glanced at her, lifting the phone in his other hand. There was a video call with Yana on the screen.
Yana's cheerful voice immediately rang out. "So, how do you feel? Do you feel touched having a young, charming man bring you a heartwarming lunch?"
"Are you just going to indulge her like this?" Candice asked Barox directly.
Barox kept a straight face. "Well, it's not like I'm the only one being embarrassed."
Candice could only look back at Yana, who was lecturing Barox sternly, accusing him of lacking in romance and charm.
Candice really did not know what to say. Sometimes she found herself unable to keep up with Yana's train of thought.
Candice did end up having lunch with Barox because Yana insisted on ordering a two-person takeaway for them and forbade them from wasting food. Initially uncomfortable, Candice gradually stopped minding as she listened to Yana and Barox banter back and forth, occasionally chiming in herself.
The meal was enjoyable, and when she returned, Angela's ambiguous and envious gaze could not be concealed.
"Teach me, how do you seduce a younger guy?" Angela asked.
Candice looked around but did not see Alex anywhere. She frowned slightly. She still wanted to ask him about the Redshade tender.
"Looking for Mr. Elysian?" Angela asked jokingly.
Candice nodded. "Do you know where he went?"
Alex was just a guest invited by the organizer. He did not need to be present all the time.
Angela raised an eyebrow. "Aren't you afraid your little boyfriend will get jealous?"
"He's not my boyfriend."
Angela, although somewhat incredulous, still said, "Maybe he went to see Darius. I just heard him making a phone call at the door. Besides, Aether has been wanting to cooperate with the Quimby family recently, hasn't it?" Angela spoke casually, then remembered that Candice might not know about these things. She cleared her throat lightly. "In short, he went to find someone."
However, Candice seized the key point in her words. "Do you know Darius?"
"Yes, I know him. He's the jerk boyfriend my unlucky friend found—" She realized what she had said only after she finished speaking and looked at Candice in confusion. "Do you also know Darius?"
Candice frowned slightly. She looked at Angela as if trying to discern something from her expression.
Angela could not bear her gaze and could not help but ask. "What's wrong?" Then, with a shocked expression, looked at Candice with eyes widened in disbelief. "Could it be that the child in your belly is Darius'?!"
Candice looked at her, her expression somewhat baffled. After a while, she composed herself. "Do you happen to know who Darius's father is?"
