Chapter 0375
Chapter 0375
After a moment of silence, Hanley offered, "Just switch your room! The company will cover the expenses."
Candice readily agreed with the suggestion but had no intention to use the company funds.
She was about to continue her discussion when she heard a knock on the door.
There was still a little more time before reaching eight in the morning.
Bewildered, she told Hanley to wait for her and went to answer the door.
She found Sawyer standing outside her room. Please check at N/ôvel(D)rama.Org.
He gave her a document and detailed, "This is from Mr. Elysian. It's a document related to the Redshade Corporation tender. Inside, you'll find some plans and proposals from Aether Corporation. Mr. Elysian said that since our firms are going to collaborate, it's best to be transparent and help each other out."
Candice examined the document and slowly twisted her brows as she was aware that this proposal was most likely Aether Corporation's response to the changes Redshade Corporation had made to their guidelines.
After a moment of hesitation, she took the document and asked, "Is Mr. Elysian busy lately? Hanley might want to go through certain topics with him in depth."
After agreeing on a time with Sawyer, she paused a little more before asking, "Has his temperature dropped?"
Sawyer smiled softly and stated, "Yeah. Mr. Elysian's fever subsided this morning. He has a meeting with a client this morning, so you won't see him at the conference hall."
Candice's hand, which was gripping the document, froze in the air.
After that, she went into the room to get her belongings and went to the conference hall.
She bumped into Yondu at the conference hall entrance.
At the time, he had just emerged from the cab with a suitcase. Yondu rushed up to greet her warmly, "Hey, what's up? I heard you got into a car accident. Are you okay?"
Candice replied, "No biggie."
"Glad to hear that. Actually, I'm wondering if you had a series of bad luck recently."
Yondu scratched his ears and gazed at Candice with an empathetic look. He recounted, "Remember the incident where you got locked up in the lab? Since day one of us running the lab, that was the only time we've had a power outage. Both of you were unlucky."
Candice knitted her brows. It took a moment before she asked, "Is the electrical panel fixed?"
"Yeah. We pulled an all-nighter to fix it two days ago," remarked Yondu. "Oh! You need to drop by and pick up that document for Hanley when you have time. If you don't, I'll probably forget about it."
Candice agreed, though her mind was racing with all sorts of ideas.
When she linked all the incidents over the last few days together, she was pretty sure that these were not accidents. It couldn't all be a coincidence.
Something crossed her mind, and she probed, "How is Mr. Franklyn? Did the power outage at the lab have a serious impact on you?"
Yondu waved his hand and said, "Well, it's alright. We had fixed everything by that night. Mr. Franklyn and Mr. Willson have been busy working on a design together lately, haven't they? They
participated in the summit because they couldn't turn the organizer down. What's wrong? Did you need him for something?"
"Oh, by the way, Mr. Franklyn wanted me to relay some details about the Redshade Corporation tender. If you have any questions, just visit the lab and ask him about it. He's Hanley's mentor, he'll help you up for sure."
At noon, Candice had a lunch date with Angela at a neighboring restaurant.
She was surprised to run into a young woman at the restaurant's entrance.
Hailey didn't display any hint of awkwardness when she stumbled across Candice. She grinned and said, "Hello there! What a coincidence."
Candice's expression darkened at the sight of Hailey. She wasn't keen on interacting with this woman.
Hailey was oblivious to Candice's cold demeanor. She stared somewhere behind Candice but found no sight of Alex. So, she asked, "Why are you alone? Where is that cute boyfriend of yours? Didn't he come with you?
