Chapter 19 Who’s Trying to Set Her Up?
Lexie was stunned and grabbed the sheets.
She shook her head and made a gesture, [I didn’t.]
She wasn’t Peter’s dog, she hated the the Mitchell family and had to marry into the Howard family for her grandma.
“What, with just a shake of the head, you want me to believe you?” Alan’s voice sank a little, and his coarse palm moved upwards, like he could snap the woman’s neck at any moment.
He was really angry, ever since this mute came to the house, there was no peace in the Howard family, and now there was this scandal, he really had underestimated a mute.
Lexie fought against his strength.
She didn’t want to die, her grandma was still waiting for her to save, and she couldn’t die.
“Looks like you won’t admit it until you get a little punishment!”Please check at N/ôvel(D)rama.Org.
Seeing her stubbornly struggling, Alan let out a chortle and suddenly exerted force, picking her up by her entire body.
Lexie gave a startled cry, and even though she couldn’t speak, fear made a raspy voice come out of her throat, hoarse and unpleasant, causing even more disgust in the man.
Alan carried her straight into the bathroom and threw her into the wide bathtub, ordering in a cold voice, “Take off your clothes!”
Lexie was stunned.
What was Alan going to do?
She raised her head, but met with Alan’s cold eyes, which were not mixed with the slightest temperature, at this time, any explanation she had seemed pale and powerless.
Lexie closed her eyes fiercely and bit her lip, after hesitation, she resigned herself to her fate and moved slowly to take off her dress.
Finally just the bra was left.
Her body was exposed in Alan’s eyes, and at this moment, she felt like a plaything without dignity.
The next moment, Alan unscrewed the tap, and it was cold water.
The cold water however rushed down from the top of the head, ruthlessly washing her whole body, with a moment of temperature lost, Lexie shivered fiercely and her face went pale.
So cold, so icy.
“Again, is the news true?” Outside the water screen, Alan lowered his voice, each word coldly and somberly striking at Lexie’s heart.
Lexie shivered and shook her head, her teeth chattering, she wouldn’t admit to something she hadn’t done.
[No, really.]
She was shivering with cold water all over her body.
After Alan paused to release the water, Lexie wrapped her arms around her chest, shivering, her face already showing a dark blue color.
“Just admit it, and I’ll let you go.” He said in a cold voice, giving her one last chance.
Lexie still shook her head.
She braced herself for discomfort, shivering and gesturing with her hands.
[I haven’t done it, can you believe me?]
Alan didn’t understand sign language, but could see that she was trying to deny it.
If she wasn’t a member of the Mitchell family, he wouldn’t have continued at this point, for wanting to investigate the truth of the matter, he had many ways.
But she was a member of the the Mitchell family, and she was causing this kind of trouble.
What kind of good people can there be in the Mitchell family?
Driven by such thoughts, Alan turned on the tap directly, “Still not admit it, huh? Then just stand here until you admit it.”
The splashing water rushed down again, and Lexie’s shoulders jerked up.
Alan, however, took a half step back and coldly looked at the watch on his wrist, without expression on his face.
He wanted to see how long Lexie could hold out.
Time was ticking …
Lexie stood in the bathtub, almost delirious from the cold water, her legs were shaking uncontrollably, and almost fell down.
But even then, there wasn’t a hint that she was going to compromise.
She couldn’t afford to take such a blame nor was she willing to be humiliated for nothing.
She won’t admit what she hasn’t done!
Wasn’t it just water?
She was not afraid.
The sound of water clattering in the bathroom, Alan’s face was getting sunken as he looked at his watch.
With a ‘bang’, Lexie finally couldn’t support herself and her entire body flopped into the water, the moment her knee hit the edge of the bathtub hard, the sharp pain caused her eyes faint and she fell straight down.
Alan’s eyebrows knitted fiercely, the expression on his face growing more and more complex, his tall body appearing extremely cramped throughout the bathroom.
She actually didn’t admit it until she passed out.
There must be something hidden about this.
Eventually, Alan fished the woman out of the bathtub, took a dry towel and wiped her body, and carried her back to the bed.
…
Her head hurt and her throat was scratchy.
Lexie woke up feeling weak and in cold sweat.
She shivered and hugged the cover tighter, a mist of tears roiling in front of her eyes.
The door was pushed open so hard she shivered in fear.
Marry looked at her with disgusted disdain and casually threw down a bowl, “Mr. Alan told you to drink this.”
The soup spilled out of the bowl and got all over the bedside table.
Lexie drew out two paper towels in silence and wiped up the spilled soup.
This soup smelt like …
It was ginger soup.
“It’s really bad luck, you’re sick short after you got married, you really are a third degree cripple.” Marry snorted coldly, turned her head and walked away.
Lexie had a splitting headache, so she didn’t bother to pay attention to her vicious remarks.
She lifted her hand with all her strength and threw the paper towel into a trash can not far away.
As for that ginger soup …
She didn’t take a sip.
Who knows if something could have been put in there?
There were too many people in this family who were bad to her and had to be guarded.
Not long after putting the ginger soup down, the door to the room opened again, and in came Alan.
Lexie couldn’t help but shiver as soon as she saw him, thinking about everything last night, every pore in her body was flooded with cold air as if she was immersed in ice water.
Fear …
[I was framed] Lexie forced down the fear inside her and tried to gesture.
Unfortunately, Alan couldn’t read it, and his tone was cold, “No need to gesture, since you don’t admit it, prove it to me yourself, it’s none of your business.”
Lexie was stunned, what did he mean?
“Get dressed.”
Dropping those words, Alan then turned around, “I’ll wait for you downstairs.”
Alan drove her directly to the private high school she had previously attended.
In the principal’s office, in addition to the principal, stood the gym teacher involved in the incident.
“Mr. Alan, there should be some misunderstanding about what happened back then,” when facing Alan, the principal also looked coy, afraid of offending the Howard family because of this matter.
Alan raised his large hand, interrupting the principal’s words and looking at Lexie, his face expressionless, “Is that him?”
Across from the principal and Alan, Lexie and the balding gym teacher locked eyes, and those bad memories of her high school days instantly flooded back to her, and she subconsciously shrank behind Alan.
This subconscious move fell on Alan’s eyes, inexplicably making his heart tighten.
[Yes]
Lexie nodded stiffly.
“How about the causes and consequences of the matter, tell me,” Alan’s voice was cold, and the gaze he looked at Lexie didn’t have a trace of the warmth of being a husband.
The people in the office looked at each other.
It seemed that the rumor was true. What status can a mute have in the Howard family?
