Chapter 41
Read My Past is Just Prologue By Louisa Dillon Chapter 41 – Janet Was Angry
It was evident that Winifred was doing this to compete with Orville, or even Janet.
Sixteen million?
“We quit.”
Janet stopped Orville.
He smiled gently, “I want to buy it for you.”
He looked at Winifred and said coldly, “The jade was pure and precious. It is supposed to belong to
someone who treasures it.”
He raised the number plate again.
Janet didn’t stop him this time.
“Eighteen million! This young gentleman offers 18 million!”
The auctioneer was excited. If it was sold at 18 million, he would get a large amount of bonus.
“Does anyone want to increase the price? This jade necklace is different from ordinary ones. It has
been passed down from the royal family for thousands of years. It is a rare treasure!”
Quintina stared at Orville angrily.
No!
Janet didn’t deserve him!
“Mom, Orville deliberately opposes our family! It must be Janet. She looks down upon us.”
That was exactly what Winifred thinking.
“Twenty million!”
It was Winifred!
“Her family is wealthy.”
“She can afford it!”
“It is ten times the original price. But I don’t think she cares!”
People talked.
Winifred was happy that she had attracted everyone’s attention. She raised her head proudly.
“Twenty million! Is there a higher bid?”
The auctioneer was joyous. He had never hosted such a high-price auction.
“Twenty million?”
Nathaniel was shocked by the price and frowned.
“Son!” Winifred was happy, “I’m about to get the jade necklace.”
Nathaniel glanced at the necklace, and his face changed, “It is not worth 20 million.”
Orville raised his number plate again.
“Thirty million! The gentleman in booth No. 5 really wants it! I’m sorry to ask, is it a gift for the beautiful
lady sitting by your side?”
The auctioneer asked.
Orville held Janet’s hand and said, “Yes. She deserves all beautiful things in the world.”
Winifred was annoyed by his words. Even Nathaniel’s face was gloomy.
Winifred stood up abruptly and raised the number plate.
“Thirty-one million!”
Janet pressed down Orville’s hand, “Stop here. It’s not worth it.”
Orville felt her hand and smiled happily, “It’s worthy.”
Janet was annoyed by his arrogance.
“I won’t accept it. It’s too much. I can’t be your friend anymore.”
Orville panicked, “Please don’t…”
Janet said, “I’d rather have a nice meal than a necklace. I know Fisher Restaurant has nice fish. Why
don’t you have dinner?”
Orville obediently agreed.

“Okay. I listen to you.”
Janet breathed a sigh of relief.
Ernest saw the scene.
He said, “Shame on you.”

“You didn’t spend any money and got the chance to date Jill. How c*nning!”
Orville said proudly, “Thank you.”
He was sly!
They were chatting happily, but the other party was different.
