Chapter 1052 Mr. McDaniel Wanted Julien to Break up With Sydney
Chapter 1052 Mr. McDaniel Wanted Julien to Break up With Sydney
'What's going on?'
Julien narrowed his eyes and immediately called the PR department.
"Mr. Flint," the PR manager answered.
Julien questioned, "Zach told you to have the comments smearing Sydney deleted, didn't he? Did you follow his instructions?"
The manager froze. But soon, he snapped to his senses and replied, "Mr. Flint, Zach did give me instructions, and I did it immediately. It's about you and Ms. Raines. We didn't waste any time."
"Tell me: what's going on online now!" Julien was not happy with the manager's answer.
"Is there anything wrong?" The manager frowned and showed a confused look.
Apparently, he was not aware of what was going on at that moment..
"Excuse me, Mr. Flint. Let me check it. Just a moment." The manager then held the phone between his shoulder and ear and started searching the Internet.
Two minutes later, after learning about the situation, the manager exclaimed, "How is this possible?"
"What's going on?" Julien asked.
The manager was dumbfounded. "Mr. Flint, I'm sure we had all the badmouthing comments deleted, but somehow, it looks like they're still there. That's impossible.
After the comments were deleted, I specifically checked online and made sure they were all cleared. I'm not lying." The manager's tone was earnest.
Julien believed the manager was not lying.
But the comments discrediting Sydney were still there...
"Mr. Flint!" the manager spoke in a very serious tone, "There is a possibility..."
"What?" Julien demanded.
The manager hastened to explain, "We did delete the comments, but someone may have reinstated them later. It's very easy for IT companies or hackers to do that."
‘IT company…’
Julien thought of Mr. McDaniel.
Mr. McDaniel's company specialized in IT business.
And Mr. McDaniel didn't like Sydney...
'No!' Julien shook his head. 'That's not possible! Although Mr. McDaniel doesn't like Sydney, he wouldn't do something like that.'
Julien believed his teacher wouldn't do such a nasty thing even if he disliked a person.
'There’s no way that Mr. McDaniel did it. He had no reason to do it.'
"Can you find out which IT company or which hacker did it?" Julien asked in a grim tone. Nôvel(D)ra/ma.Org exclusive © material.
The manager answered after a few seconds of thought, "If it's a hacker, it's hard to track him down. They usually hide themselves by hacking into other people's servers. But if it's an IT company, we might be able to find it out. IT companies are not so easy to hide, because they have a lot of
servers. But I think it is better to involve the IT team. They are professional. Our team is not good at IT."
Julien knew that, too.
"Tell the IT team to investigate it immediately," Julien instructed.
"Yes, Mr. Flint," the manager responded.
After hanging up the phone, Julien pinched the bridge of his nose and was about to call Sydney to reassure her that he would take care of it.
However, before he could dial Sydney's number, his phone rang.
Seeing the caller ID, Julien wrinkled his brows. Apparently, he didn't want to take the call.
It was Mr. McDaniel.
Mr. McDaniel had just left, but now he was calling Julien again. Julien could guess the reason for his call.
Julien couldn't just refuse to answer the call. After the phone rang for a while, he answered, "Mr. McDaniel."
"Julien, you should have seen the news on the Internet, right?" Mr. McDaniel asked smilingly. The old man was still on his way home. He was sitting in the back seat of his car and calling Julien.
Before Julien could answer, Mr. McDaniel continued, "You must have known about it. Your assistant came to you earlier and said that something had happened to your girlfriend. I assume that's what he was talking about."
Julien didn't say anything.
An imperceptible scowl flashed across Mr. McDaniel's eyes. He sighed and said in a sincere tone, "Julien, I told you she wasn't a good woman, but you didn't believe it. She's gotten into so much trouble before. Now she cheated on you. Julien, you should break up with her. She...."
"All right, Mr. McDaniel," Julien interrupted, "The gossip is not true. It's between me and Sydney. We'll work it out. Don't worry about us. Take care of yourself. I'll go to see you when I have time. I'll talk to you later."
Then Julien was about to hang up the phone.
Mr. McDaniel got angry. He hurriedly called out to Julien, "Wait."
"Mr. McDaniel, is there anything else? If you still want me to break up with Sydney, forget about it." Julien's voice was cold as he spoke.
Mr. McDaniel clutched his phone. It took him a few seconds to compose himself. "I’m not going to talk about it. I know you don't want to hear that."
'The gossip on the Internet is so clear. The woman cheated on Julien, but he doesn't believe it. He's such an idiot!'
Mr. McDaniel was pissed off.
He wondered what Sydney had done to make Julien so infatuated with her, and that Julien didn't even believe it after the scandal had spread all over the Internet.
Mr. McDaniel really wanted to see what was going on in Julien's head and why he was so stubborn.
"All right." Julien had no idea what Mr. McDaniel was thinking, and he wasn't interested. He said blandly, "Mr. McDaniel, if you want to talk about something else, I'd be happy to talk to you."
Mr. McDaniel sneered in his mind, 'He’d be happy to talk to me? He is obviously not happy when I mention that woman. How can I talk to him? Anyway, Julien is crazy about that woman now. I'll talk to him about her later.'
"OK. I won't talk about her. Erin will be coming home in a couple of days. She hasn't seen you in years. When Erin comes back, how about coming to my house for dinner?" Mr. McDaniel invited Julien.
Julien replied, "Sure."
Although Julien was unhappy that Mr. McDaniel didn’t like Sydney, Mr. McDaniel used to be his teacher.
He couldn't refuse Mr. McDaniel's invitation.
Mr. McDaniel was happy to hear Julien say yes. "Good. Come early and bring your girlfriend with you!"
Since Mr. McDaniel couldn't convince Julien to break up with Sydney, he planned to talk Sydney into leaving Julien.
Julien guessed Mr. McDaniel's intention, his eyes twinkled and he refused, "Thank you for the invitation, Mr. McDaniel, but I won't bring Sydney. Since you don't like her, I won't take her to annoy you, and she won't be upset. Mr. McDaniel, I have to go. See you later."
Then, before Mr. McDaniel could respond, Julien hung up the phone.
After hanging up the phone, Julien's face was awful.
He knew Mr. McDaniel wouldn't just give up and that he still wanted him to break up with Sydney.
He was surprised that Mr. McDaniel wanted to talk to Sydney!
