Chapter 15 Never bring an umbrella in a rainy day.

Evelina is Pearl's sister. She is 3 years younger than Pearl.

She was folding her arms, leaning against the frame of the front door. She looked very elegant when

she stood there quietly.

Not long ago, her flawless face ranked the prettiest face in Asia. She always showed up in various

advertisements and fashion magazines. Recently, she had also been the most popular celebrity in the

entertainment industry.

"How dare you come back?" Unfortunately, everything would fall apart as long as Evelina spoke. All rights © NôvelDrama.Org.

Evelina stood upright nonchalantly. She glared at Pearl and scoffed, "I remember that someone swore

that she would never step into our home again seven years ago, ."

Hearing this, Pearl tightened her grip on the paper bag. But she could not refute Evelina.

Pearl was young and immature. After becoming a mother herself, she finally understood how hard it

was to be a good parent. She realized how bad a parent would feel if the child went on a wrong road.

"Evelina, I just wanted to see Dad. Is he okay?"

"Thanks to you, Dad had been in hospital for about six months that year ."

Pearl felt guilty to hear this. "It was all my fault."

Evelina snorted, "No,no, you are always right! You're the center of the world. Everything has to revolve

around you. But let me tell you, the Yonng family can't afford to have someone like you. Since you have

left this family, then don't come back again."

"Miss Evelina, Miss Pearl is only—"

Cicely could no longer stand there to watch their quarrel. She wanted to defend Pearl. But Evelina

interrupted harshly, "Cicely, you shouldn't let any stranger into our house for whom can be responsible

for it if something bad happens to Dad?"

Cicely was at a loss for words. She looked to Pearl awkwardly.

Pearl did not want to argue. She put down her gifts. "Well, Cicely, I am leaving and the gifts are here."

As soon as she left, she heard Evelina's voice came behind her. "Cicely, throw such trashes away.

Don't let me see them again."

Pearl clenched fists but did not look back.

She knew her sister's temper. Evelina was not a bad girl but she did have some grudges against her.

Moreover, their father fell ill because of her, so it was natural for Evelina to hate her.

It was cloudy. The weather forecast reported that it was going to rain.

A black Mercedes-Benz sped down the street. The rain suddenly poured down. Raindrops pattered

against the car windows.

Richard's impatient look was reflected in the rear view mirror. The driver slowed down the car and said,

"The rain will last for a while. Sir, it's lucky that I listened to you and chose this road these days. Or now

we must be in a traffic jam."

Ever since last week, Richard suddenly asked the driver to take this road to the company. Logically

speaking, the other road would be a lot shorter.

The car stopped at the intersection. The rain was getting heavier and heavier. Watching through the

window and rain, Richard stiffened suddenly.

On the opposite side of the road, Pearl was holding a bag over her head. She was rushing to the

nearest bus stop in the downpour. She was fully drenched and looked terribly.

She hadn't changed at all. She could never remembered to bring an umbrella with her in a rainy

day.
