Linda was even more baffled now. Who in the world was trying to help her? The first person that came to
mind was Samson.
"Hey, Samson, did you send me the documents about Tom's embezzlement by express delivery?" Lindal
asked.
Samson, who had just wrapped up a bidding meeting, was thrown for a loop by Linda's question. He responded, "No, I just finished the bidding meeting. Is something going on?" "Was it not you?"
After exiting the venue, Samson got into the car heading back to YK Media. "It wasn't me. If it were me, I would have sent an email, not an express delivery."
Linda felt the same way.
"Is something up?" Samson asked.
"No." Linda glanced at the few sheets of paper in her hand, laden with crucial information. "I got the documents I was searching for."
"Whoever is helping you, make the best of it. If they helped you once, they'll likely help you again, and one day, they'll show who the
are. Don't worry."
"Okay, I get it." Linda thought so, too.
At Wilson Group, Jay was scratching his head over William's approach. "Boss, why didn't you just hand the documents directly to Ms. Felix? Why the anonymous route?"
He thought it seemed like a great opportunity for William to build a connection with Linda.
"You won't understand." William signed the papers and pushed the folder aside.
"Huh?" Jay was genuinely confused. "Boss, Ms. Felix won't know you're helping her if you handle it this
way.
He worried that someone else might take the credit, which could worsen their already tense relationship.
William understood this all too well but didn't dare to reveal his involvement.
Linda was no longer the same as she once was. When she faced him, she was as defensive as a porcupine. To avoid stirring her up, he selected a careful approach to assist her. "Continue to investigate Tom's activities over the past few years. Leave no stone unturned," William commanded icily.
"You're seriously going to dig up everything on Tom, huh?" Jay exclaimed.
William had secretly offered projects to Felix Group for the last four years. He was undoubtedly
jeopardizing his interests, but the small sums involved didn't concern him.
He would ensure it got done for Linda as long as it was something she wanted. He felt it was the least he could do for her.
"Would you
like me to send you a copy of the findings and mail another to Ms. Felix?" Jay asked.
William responded with a hum. He wasn't ready to face Linda directly just yet. He was certain that Linda couldn't leave him if he kept her within his view.
"Boss, what you're doing isn't going to work," Jay said.
William looked up at him. "Then tell me. What should I do?"
"You might as well try being more persistent," Jay suggested cautiously, almost as if he was risking his
neck.
Seeing that William didn't get it, Jay continued, "Women appreciate gestures and romance. You could
with flowers and find ways to make your presence known. Otherwise, I fear Ms. Felix might
forget about you."
show up
"Are you sure this will work?" William was also worried that Linda might forget about him.
"I can't guarantee it, but that's what those online videos say," Jay said. With zero experience in dating and little understanding of relationships, he was merely following what he had seen online.
"Order some flowers."
