Chapter 21 It Is Daytime
Jessica couldn’t believe that she had sent her coquettish bikini photo to Lorenzo!
Jessica wanted to recall the message, but it was already off the time limit.
From the first time they met, they had signed a contract and saved each other’s contact information. Jessica had asked Lorenzo casually if he wanted to add her as a contact on an interactive program.
Lorenzo knitted his brows, and his eyes looked full of doubts. Obviously, he had never used an interactive program before, but he found one on his phone that night when he got back home.
Jessica wondered if she had lost her mind when she sent the message.
“Am I blind or just stupid?”
Jessica really wanted to slap herself.
“How is your post-marriage body shape maintenance? I saw a few beautiful French nightdresses on Victoria’s Secret shows. What kind of nightdress does your husband prefer?”
Amara sent another message with a few other styles.
“This one makes you look like an innocent and cute girl.”
“This one makes you a mature woman.”
“And this one! Tight and short black French lace! You’ll look smoking hot in it!”Text content © NôvelDrama.Org.
Jessica wondered if she had made friends with the wrong person…
At the same time, Lorenzo was in the meeting room of the Fletcher Branch in St Heila of Fretston.
After attending the international financial forum, Lorenzo went to the branch non-stop for an inspection.
The participants present here did not dare to make a sound. They lowered their head so that Lorenzo wouldn’t notice that they were there. From time to time, they peeped at the man sitting in the front middle.
Lorenzo was in a handmade gray suit customized by a master. His hair had been carefully styled with hairspray, which really accentuated his extraordinarily facial features. Eyes cast down. He looked at a thick stack of documents in his hand. Every gesture and expression he made radiated with the unique charm of a successful man.
He looked elegant, calm, and mature. It was the kind of charm that few people could resist.
Ring…
Suddenly, someone’s cellphone rang up in the silent conference room.
Other people turned to look at Lorenzo. It was his cellphone that was ringing.
Lorenzo raised his eyes and saw a push from the interactive program.
He specifically asked his assistant to download the interactive program, and he only had one contact in that APP.
It was his wife, Jessica.
His assistant Levi hurried over and asked him something in a low voice.
Lorenzo motioned Levi to leave. Then he continued the meeting with the director of the marketing department and other senior executives.
The meeting attendees quickly retracted their curious gazes. As soon as Lorenzo opened the interactive program, he saw the picture sent by Jessica.
Jessica was standing on the beach by the sea, wearing a white bikini. Her silky hair draped on his shoulder, and half of her long slender leg was dipping in the sea. She seemed to be walking towards the shore.
It was a candid photo taken from one side. The red fox half-mask made her pretty face mysterious. She looked more stunning and coquettish than the most seductive siren in the sea.
With this shooting angle and the content, this picture was definitely R-rated.
Lorenzo had never seen Jessica in such a sultry dress since they were married. Although they slept in the same room every day, Jessica always wrapped herself like the Eskimos.
However, Lorenzo clearly knew what a lovely figure she had.
“Are you tempting me?”
Lorenzo tapped fast and replied to the message.
“Tempting me?”
Jessica immediately blushed when she received the message. She could totally imagine how those words would sound like when they came out of Lorenzo’s mouth in his deep, gravel voice.
“No need to rush it. It’s still early in the day.”
After a short while, Lorenzo replied to the message again.
The time difference between the two countries was huge. It was night in Ameriart but daytime in Fretston.
Jessica patted herself on the face. It was heated. She wondered what Lorenzo meant by “daytime”. He was overthinking it too much!
She could read between the line. He might have misread the message and wanted to give her a hint to tempt him at night.
“I didn’t mean to send it to you, really. My fingers slipped, and I sent it to you by mistake.”
Jessica hurriedly texted a short explanation and sent it to Lorenzo.
“So I’m the mistake? Who were you sending it to then, hum?”
Lorenzo typed and raised his eyebrows slightly.
“I didn’t lie to you. Here’s the evidence.”
Jessica wanted to explain, but she found that any explanation would only make this worse. In desperation, she had no choice but to send a screenshot of her chat with Amara to Lorenzo as evidence.
“You can wrap up almost all of them, except for the first two… They’re a bit old-school. As for which one suits you best, I can’t give you any acute suggestions until you show me them.”
Lorenzo’s lips arched into a smile as he saw the many styles of nightdresses in the screenshots.
“You’re a horrible person.”
Jessica sat up abruptly and blushed again after she read Lorenzo’s reply. Then she typed quickly and texted back.
“A horrible person?”
Lorenzo raised his eyebrows slightly.
Jessica wasn’t a drama queen, and almost no one had seen her getting angry before. However, she felt ashamed into anger this time.
“Wait until I get back. I’ll regulate you out of yourself.”
Lorenzo replied calmly.
…
“Wait until I get back. I’ll regulate you out of yourself.”
Jessica lay back on the bed and kept repeating that text in her mind. Her face was heated, and the last text from Lorenzo had really renewed her outlook on this man.
Jessica shook her head vigorously and got Lorenzo’s face out of her mind. She tried to distract herself by thinking about something else.
Preston’s intention was very obvious. He was going against her. The Saunder family was of the most privileged families in Ameriart. It was powerful, influential, and filthy rich. Jessica needed to deliberate before dealing with Saunder.
From that perspective, she was already in a disadvantaged position in this war.
Jessica always found a bit odd about what had happened. She wondered why Preston kept calling her a love rat.
“This man’s muddleheaded. He’s a psycho, perhaps. Jessica, you’re always my sweetest girl. You’re innocent, and I think Preston himself was a love rat.”
Jessica was puzzled, so she started chatting with Amara.
“I just don’t understand why he could be so confident and righteous. What is the problem?”
Jessica replied.
“That is just how he was always like. You can ask him if you really want an answer. That’s the simplest yet most efficient way.”
Amara suggested bluntly.
Her words made sense to Jessica. It was of no use if she kept guessing by herself. She needed to find an opportunity to make this clear with him face-to-face.
“Jessica, you’re thinking too much. Your biggest advantage is that you are a woman. He’s targeting you because he still has feelings for you. Everything is possible as long as you’re willing to do it.”
Amara sounded very positive.
Jessica replied with an emoji and then stopped texting.
Jessica knew what Amara meant. A woman should be more subtle when dealing with a man she loved.
…
Preston was in the presidential suite of a hotel.
Late that night, Preston and Juliette walked into the hotel room they had booked.
After Preston finished bathing, he walked out with a white towel around his waist. Then he took the bottle of wine out of the ice bucket, poured a little into the goblet, and took a slow sip.
“Preston, why men are all alike? Jessica’s mother has been dead for so many years, yet my dad still misses her a lot.”
Juliette said it as she groomed herself and changed into a thin and short lace suspender. Then she hugged Preston from behind.
“Where does that question come from?”
Standing in front of the huge floor-to-ceiling window, Preston asked as he looked at the night scene outside, his lips curling.
“I accidentally found a picture of Jessica’s mother in the hidden compartment in my dad’s wallet. It looked old, and he cherished the photo very much. Even my mother isn’t allowed to touch it. My father was a very proud man, and he never let our family troubles get out. Sometimes he would hold his anger and didn’t vent it until we got home. However, that day, he slapped my mom very hard in public just because of a few bad words my mom said about Jessica’s mother.”
Juliette was perplexed.
“Jessica’s mother… was an extraordinary woman.”
Preston whispered it as a beautiful and bright face emerged in his mind.
Juliette had never seen Jessica’s, nor had she heard her from her father. For Juliette, that woman seemed to have disappeared all of a sudden, and Juliette couldn’t find a trace of her life.
Juliette was once astonished. She tried to get all the information about Jessica’s mother in Ameriart, but the evidence was so little that she even doubted if the woman had ever existed. That had also suggested how influential the person was to have erased Jessica’s mother from this world.
Every time Juliette thought about it, she felt a chill all over her body.
“Preston, my mom was right. Jessica knows how to seduce men more than anyone else. She was married, yet she later kept a gigolo outside the house. Now, I am stunned to hear that she had hooked up with the president of Claus Kagel Restaurant. We don’t even know how many men she had been with so far!”
