Next One Is a Babe

Chapter 1951

Chapter 1951

As she walked away, she remembered what Gary told her, and she thought of the call Ian made in the room the day before. She had asked him who he was calling, but he only cracked a joke instead of answering. So he called Gary, I guess. He knows Gary helped me, but he didn’t tell me. Cindy was starting to feel panicked about the matter.

Ian had always been worried about the matter between her and Gary, just like how she worried about his matter with Yulia. Cindy knew Ian would be frustrated after finding out that Gary helped her without him knowing about it. She wanted to explain it to him, but it might sound too deliberate. This is really frustrating.

Because of this matter, her work went a lot slower in the afternoon. She couldn’t even finish even when it was nearly time to get off work, so she decided to put in some overtime. He probably won’t come home on time. Even if I go home, I’ll still be alone and have nothing to do. Eventually, her colleagues left, and she was alone in the office.

She never thought she was talented, so if she wanted to impress anyone, she must work harder for it. Thanks to her being alone, Cindy could finally feel at peace. She finished up her work and changed some details.

She went through all the tips and pointers Serena gave her, and that made her think she still had a few things to work out, but the second draft was definitely better than the first one. She heaved a sigh and put the draft aside, then she rolled her shoulders and cleaned her table before leaving the office.

Surprisingly, Serena was still at the office too, and they bumped into each other when they came out. “Didn’t expect you to work so late.” She looked at Cindy, surprised. Text content © NôvelDrama.Org.

Cindy saddled her bag. “I wanted to finish my draft first.”

Serena didn’t give her any design task, but she was happy to hear that Cindy stayed back just to finish her draft. “If you have time, I can take a look at your draft now and see if there’s any improvements to be made.”

Since Serena was making the offer, Cindy couldn’t say she was in a hurry even if she was. She quickly went to take her draft from her table and handed it to Serena. Serena opened it up right away and appraised it.

Cindy’s heart was thumping furiously. Her first draft had been harshly criticized, so if she didn’t improve on her second one, she would feel mortified.

Serena was taking a close look at the draft, but her expression didn’t change. She appraised it for five minutes, then she pointed out some little kinks Cindy needed to work out. She said every designer had their own little idiosyncrasies and she pointed out Cindy’s, telling her to keep an eye out for them next time.

“You put too many elements in your designs. It looks confusing. Try going for a minimalist style and make it look cleaner. It’ll be softer on the eyes.” She didn’t point out all the little details this time. Instead, it was only the bigger problems that she addressed.

Cindy nodded. She could accept the comments and advice. Since Serena had enough time, she pointed out a lot of kinks and gave some tips. They stood right outside the office, and their conversation lasted for about half an hour. Thankfully, Cindy could remember everything because of her decent memory. She used to note down Ian’s busy schedule accurately because of that.

After they were done talking, Serena looked at Cindy. “That was quite a lot of tips. Can you remember them?”
