No longer a pushover (Noelle and Cedric)

Noelle pinched her nose in disgust and looked back at Cedric. "You should leave first."

"Noelle, why are you in such a hurry to send him off? Are you scared that your broke boyfriend will catch you having a sugar daddy?"

She turned back to look at Xenia, who was really drunk. "You keep mentioning having a sugar daddy. Looks like you're experienced in this area."

"Stop changing the topic. You're just feeling diffident."

Xenia watched Cedric. "You don't need to look so terrified. Noelle cheated. She's Alfred's sugar baby. He even gave her the shares for Maple Enterprise."

Upon hearing this, Cedric narrowed his eyes. He was the one who gave his shares to Noelle.

Xenia boasted, "A poor school doctor like you would never be able to afford this even if you worked to death. You'd be the first man to live off a woman. But you're handsome. If you get with me, I could pay you even more."

She couldn't stand that Noelle cheated on him but he still remained obsessed with her.

Justin was a momma's boy. One word from his mom and he wouldn't even pick up Xenia's phone.

Xenia would take everything from Noelle, even her man. Turning to Cedric, she said, "What do you think? You'll get a better deal from me!"

What could Noelle give him? Xenia was the most pampered daughter of the Liddells.

"Xenia, are you out of your mind?"

Noelle dragged Xenia aside and slapped her. "Was getting beat up just now not enough for you?"

Xenia fell backward. Her ears buzzed.

Noelle pulled her phone out and filmed Xenia. "If you drank too much and need a man, get a room. Don't make a fuss here."

Xenia was about to scold her, but when she saw Noelle filming her, she

scrambled to her feet and said, "Delete that video."

"Fuck off. Believe me or not, I'm going to post this on the school's forum and let all those men drooling over you see you lusting over someone else. We'll see whether they still revere you as their pure little junior."

It terrified her so much that she sobered up. She slunk away with her tail between her legs.

Noelle put her phone down and turned back to Cedric. "She's throwing a drunk tantrum. I'm heading back to my dorm. Don't want to miss my curfew."

Cedric nodded and watched her walk into school.

He recalled what Xenia said and called Alfred. He asked coldly, "What did Donovan say?"

"That's what I wanted to talk to you about. I think they misunderstood my relationship with Noelle and accused me of being her sugar daddy. Donovan even wanted to negotiate with me. Who does he think he is to threaten me?"

Cedric looked furious. "Publicise news about the Liddells stealing business secrets. The bigger the hit on their reputation, the better."

"Got it. You're avenging Noelle."

Alfred considered it for a moment before saying, "As your best friend, I need to remind you that people are going to find out about who you are. Have you considered how to explain it to Noelle?"

As long as Noelle remained in Yasnia, she would always run into people Cedric knew.

It was a matter of time. The day would come inevitably.

Cedric's Adams apple bobbed. "I know."

However, he didn't know what to say to Noelle. He was scared that they wouldn't

be able to remain friends if she found out. He was living on borrowed time.

"Give it a good thought. It'll never stay hidden forever."

He hung up immediately.

Cedric rolled the car window down. He couldn't help but light a cigarette as he watched the night sky outside. His thoughts were in a jumble. The red light glowed between his fingers.

His phone pinged. Then, he came to his senses and watched the text Noelle had sent him. "Have you gotten home yet?"

Cedric extinguished the cigarette and looked down to reply to her. "Almost there." He smiled without realizing it.noveldrama

Noelle was already in bed in her dorms. She sent him a picture of her with a bandage. "You caused my arm to be like this. I had to put on many bandages."

Her limbs would probably be very sore when she woke up the next day.

Cedric stopped in front of a traffic light and grabbed his phone. When he saw her text, his eyes darkened.

He replied, "It wasn't me."
