Omega Princess

Chapter 40

Every one turned and looked at Vincent. He started to link warriors. No one was supposed to leave until we knew who planted the card. I took the card and read it. My dearest daughter,

I would like to congratulate you on becoming Luna. I heard you rejected the prince and made deals with the king.

Are you sure that was the right path? You don't know what he has done. His past will haunt him and you.

To find out, you will have to join me for dinner. Your new mate is welcome to join you tomorrow evening. I will send you another note. Tell the King hello from me. Yours truely,

Dad

I shivered. Vincent grabbed the microphone and boomed, "No one will leave until each party is checked. If there is a rogue on our territory we will find them."

I linked Vincent "what if it is someone from within the pack?" I looked at Amanda, who was looking at me amused. She was delighted by my ruined evening.

This could not stand. I stepped up to the mic next to Vincent. "Since we are all here till we get the all clear, we might as well enjoy the food and dancing. I linked the cook to bring out the food.

The DJ Diane had hired began to play music. I turned to Vincent, "do me the honor and dance with me?"

"I would love to," he said. Soon everyone began to enjoy themselves.

About an hour later, it was confirmed over link that not rogues were within the territory. We had a traitor in our mists.

Everyone retired to their rooms as the evening grew to a close. The royal family and Dark Moon pack were staying on an extra day due to the invitation.

The royals were fine. I am not sure I wanted Amanda around but Alex had insisted they stay to sort this thing out.

After the last guest went up to bed. I made sure the Omegas who helped with the event were all thanked personally and give a gift of appreciation. Finally, it was time for us to retire. Vincent had not let me out of his sight since the card. He even sent a female warrior with me to the bathroom.

So much had happened I almost forgot I was pregnant and engaged. "How about a shower before bed?" I asked Vincent, dropping my dress to the floor.

"How are you so calm? You were threatened tonight." He sat at edge of the bed with his shirt partially undone. He wringed his hands through his hair.

I walked over to him. "He threatened the king. He invited us." I said. I took his hands and put them around my waist. I sat on his lap and started to undo the rest of his shirt. "Fillian. Be serious," he said.

"I am," I said. Removing his shirt and working my way to his pants. "I seriously want my fiance to come take a shower with me. We can work this out in the morning."

Reaching into his pants, I grabbed his shaft and started to stroke. He groaned and took me to the shower. After we had finished, we washed each other. Vincent exited the shower and grabbed a fluffy towel to dry me off. I looked up and said, "I love you." He pulled me closer. "I love you and our pup. I will not let anything happen to you."

"You know I can protect myself as well." I leaned back to look at him.

"I never want you to be in a position like that again and definitely not while pregnant." The stress on his face was back.

I decided to change the topic. "If it is a boy what should we name him?" He smiled at me.

"Do you think it is a boy?" he asked.

"I don't know." I smiled back." We already have two girls," I teased as I referenced Millie and Katie.

I yawned and stretched. "I think it is time for you to get some sleep. We will have a long day tomorrow." Vincent picked me up and set me on the bed. He followed behind me and wrapped me in a hug. I was fast asleep in no time.

When I woke up, Vincent had already left bed. I had slept past breakfast and I was sure he had the King and Alex in his office with John planning how to respond to the next invitation that would provide the location was supposed to come around lunch. I am sure they already had a plan to entrap the traitor.

"My money is on Amanda," Sasha said.

“།

I agree," I said. "She enjoyed my reaction a bit too much to not to be involved."

I linked Vincent "Good morning fiancee."

He linked back "Good morning. Lunch is in an hour and the trap is set. Get ready and meet in the main lunch room."

I got dressed in leggings and a tank top. My jeans no longer fit. I made sure the tank top was a bit baggy so I wouldn't show. I headed down to the lunch room, starving as I slept through breakfast and I was eating for two. When I entered the room, I spotted Amanda sitting right next to Alex. It looked like he hadn't slept. Maybe he thought she was at fault too.

Everyone was moving around in pairs. No one was left to themselves but Vincent and myself. Each pair was made of a trusted ally and a potential threat. The royals were out as they were just as nervous about me going to find out their past as I was to meet my father.

Lunch ended with no note. Nothing at all happened. Everyone was accounted for. A handful of people didn't come to lunch but their partner validated their whereabouts.

The same group met in Vincent's office to discuss what we thought that meant. I started. "Maybe we scared the traitor and they left this morning?"

Vincent pounded his hands on the desk. "No they are still here, the game is not over. Just delayed."

A pounding at the door came and Millie came in with Val. They were carrying a card. "It was on our car," Val said. "I was going to take Millie to show her our house. Mom and Dad said we could go, so I linked John to drive us and we found this in the passenger seat. It was addressed to you, Luna, so I knew what it was."

I took the card before Vincent could and read it.

Dear Daughter,

You will drive to the little in you stayed at when you tried to be human. A car will pick you up there and drive you to me. If you fail to show up or you hatch a plan for others to follow you, I will attack your pack. I will not leave a single soul alive. P.S. since you made this harder than it should have, your mate is no longer invited.

Love,

Dad

"You will not go this time." Vincent said, before I could speak. I sacrificed myself last time for Katie. This was the whole pack.

"Please can everyone leave us for a minute?" I asked. Everyone left and I locked the door behind them. "Vincent, it can't be right. Either he doesn't know I have my full power now or he is bluffing."

"He saw you almost die the last time you decimated his pack." Vincent said with much pain. "You haven't even been able to test your full powers since we mated. I can't lose you or our pup." Vincent placed a hand on my belly.

"I don't think it will come to that. I am pretty certain I can tap into more power than I had before." I said. "Our answer is let him come and I fight or I go meet him. Vincent pick one."

"Neither," he said, and picked me up. He took me to our room and locked me in. "I will send your aunt with food later. I know you are strong but I cannot risk it. Please only come out if you have to."

I was angry but I agreed. "Fine. Will you come in here now until you have to go?"

"You won't use your power on me?" Vincent asked.

"If I wanted to, I could do it through the door, silly." I said and he entered. "I had no idea the door locked both ways."

"There is a lot about this house you haven't found out yet." Vincent said, picking me up and kissing me. Too soon, it was time for the warriors to protect the boarder incase my father made good on his promise.

I was a prisoner in my own room. Vincent wasn't taking any chances this time. Warriors were posted outside the doors. He had gone on patrol with John to make sure no rogues were getting through. Since I didn't show as the letter said, we were prepared for a full attack.

My aunt brought me my tray of food. "Thank you," I said, and took a drink of the tea. I ate the sandwiches and grapes. All of a sudden, I started to feel burning and the room spun.

"I'm sorry my dear, but my brother is right," My aunt said before the room went black. "Everything will be ok."
